After leaving the gym, I went to turn on my car and the battery had died. Thankfully, I have AAA and gave them a call. They were able to get me connected with Gainesville Towing Service to service me. Thankfully with AAA it does give a bit of a discount for a new battery and received a good quote. The company quoted me a wait time of 20 minutes or so as it was 5pm traffic time. The driver was in communication with me as it took longer than 20 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]About 40 minutes later, my driver arrived and apologized for the wait and did explain he was on the driver available and was coming from the opposite side of town[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He did his diagnostic test and confirmed my battery was pretty much on its way out. The service in total took about 15 minutes and was seamless. My car broke down in Alachua the last Saturday in January. So I call AAA, saying the car would not turn over, and needed a tow. So 40 minutes later, GTS shows up in a pickup truck instead of a tow truck (not their fault, but AAA's). The first driver, whose name I forget was great, but was of no help unfortunately. So I had to wait for a tow truck. Fast forward two hours later, we get a call from the wrecker driver saying he will be there in 20 minutes, the driver had to drop a car off on Newberry Rd. More than a 20 minute drive, but hey we all sometimes underestimate how long something may take. An hour later, no show. My sister in law and I try calling back, driver refuses to answer the phone. So, the sister in law calls AAA again, another hour almost 90 minutes go by, we finally get a THIRD wrecker out there to pick my car up. This one from Lake City. So almost 5 hours in a parking lot all because these people didn't feel like towing the car. Also the driver was rude as hell. Didn't seem to want to be there. read more

Yesterday, August 19, 2022, my Suburban just quit running as I was driving toward I-75 to return home, about 75 miles south. AAA dispatched a flatbed as I wanted to have my truck taken to a local repair facility near my home. The driver, Sean, was OUTSTANDING! Sean loaded my Suburban quickly, which was kind of tricky as it was in a left-turn lane on a curve. As we got on I-75 I quickly learned just how smart, funny, and interesting Sean was. I;m not usually a talkative guy, but our conversations were so interesting that the trip (slowed by heavy traffic near Ocala) seemed much shorter than it actually was. Called AAA to get my car towed. It was 5:30 in the morning. They told me that Gainesville towing sends a text with an eta so you'll know how long it will be. They also said they call when they are close. Neither of those things happened. I ended up calling the number I found for them on google.. at first they didn't answer then the second time the guy answered. I softly explained what happened and that I was wondering if I could have an eta. He said I'm about to be there and abruptly hung up before I could get the words thank you. When he pulled up he said where is this going? Well sir if you looked at your work order from AAA you'd know. He wasn't looking at any papers and writing anything down. I stated the address and he didn't ask for a key or anything loaded it up in .2 seconds and I asked if I had to go to where he was dropping it off because it was getting dropped off at a business to go to a shop later on. Well he said no and then just drove off..... we ended up following him because it seemed like there was something else we had to do. He then was driving very very fast. We had a hard time keeping up with him and we were going over speed limit. He pulled over in the turning lane and got out of his car and asked us why we were following him? Um sir you left without saying anything. Then I said this is not far from the turn he goes oh this is where the car is going? Like what ?where was he going to bring my car? Then he brought to wrong business and we got out to tell him this wasn't the place and he dropped the car and left. He was rude and made it seem like I was wasting his time. I had just been in an accident I was shaken up. The least he could have done was be nice, I am not a mind reader so no I couldn't read his mind. And I haven't been in an accident to have my car towed before. I just don't like how I was treated and left extremely upset and uneasy about the situation. I will never use them again if I have a choice. I didn't even know his name so I can't put on here. read more

Worst towing experience....EVER!!! My 2003 Deville wasn't secured on the flat bed. The tow driver was driving, recklessly. So reckless, my deville was inches away from tumbling off the bed. Luckily, I was following him and was able to stop the tow drive before the catastrophe. Inches away from a terrible incident... INCHES!!! On top of that, the tow driver took the longer route to my destination. More miles, more money. Then had the audacity to charge me 100bucks. Never.Again!!! To be fair, the driver did say this incident never happened before in his 6 years of towing...my luck day. Smh. Still, that doesn't excuse the erratic driving. Car needed towing after being involved in an accident. Used our AAA membership to have it sent to the house. The gentleman that towed it to my house was FANTASTIC. They should be proud of that man on his communication and friendliness. Kudos to him. We needed GTS to now tow the car from home to local collision center. They sent out Justin in a flatbed (License plate # E91348). He met my wife on the driveway exchanging info then I followed minutes later. Introduced myself as did Justin. Seemed polite but that changed very quickly. He explained that he'd like to get the car off the driveway and close to the backend of his flatbed. I explained that due to the nature of the car damage I did NOT want to risk the airbags spontaneously deploying if I turned it on. Well I guess that didn't sit too well for Justin as that set off a series of head nodding, huffing and puffing. Within less than 15 min the car was chained up and secured on the flatbed. As Justin bid farewell to my wife and ignored my presence there he had the BALLS to look back at me with a dirty look as he walked back to his flatbed. As Justin made the u-turn to exit my community I took a video and photo of my car as it was being towed away but Justin had to make sure he had one last snarky remark, without rolling down his window he pointed to the Gainesville towing info on his door, i motioned that I could not hear him to roll the window down. When he did he said in a RUDE AND SARCASTIC tone something about making sure I had the info to the company. This is exactly what you need on New Year's Eve when your family was just involved in an accident less than 24hrs ago. Justin is everything that GTS should steer clear of when they send their guys out. Sadly I didn't get the name of the gentleman from the initial tow. This tow company responded as a rotation wrecker service to tow my fishing boat following a street accident in Gainesville on 8/19/21. The workers placed the destroyed boat trailer on the flat bed then dragged my brand new boat with a winch over the top of the shredded trailer which resulted in further horrific damage to my hull. After requesting a receipt for the tow services from their office I was emailed a receipt with multiple figures that were crossed out nonlegible and did not add up. A totally unprofessional document for a charge of that amount. I went to the office on 8/26/21 and requested that the receipt be redone in a legible and professional way so that I could tender it to my insurance company. The office manager Dakota and her assistant have refused to honor my request. I asked them to email the new legible receipt and they have refused. I have called multiple times this date and they have repeatedly hung up on me. This is a 3rd rate business, totally unprofessional, and disrespectful. read more

I just had the most ridiculous experience with Gainesville Towing. Keep in mind, they're called Gainesville TOWING: They showed up to my car, which wouldn't start up. They evaluated the situation and determined it was the alternator. They said it needed to be towed. But they can't actually tow my car. They need to call for a truck of theirs that is ACTUALLY a tow truck. Ridiculous. If you call AAA for help, ask what company their using. I am a triple A member and have been getting my battery replaced from Walmart but ended up just getting triple A/Gainesville towing service to replace it! The service was great with getting in contact with the driver and he came in less than 10 minutes after I requested battery service. The technician was super friendly, informative, and transparent with what was wrong with my car and the prices/warranty for a new battery. I did have warranty with Walmart but have had several issues in the past with them not having me in the system and replacing multiple batteries. I made the decision to go with the triple A battery warranty program since they come to you in a quick turnaround time. They have free replacement for 3 years due to manufacturer errors and then prorated for the 3 years after that. This was all done in less than an hour whereas if I had to go to Walmart, I would've had to drive there and possibly wait for service. Definitely recommend this deal if you have any battery issues! read more

I had a flat tire yesterday evening during rush hour traffic. A Friday in 99°weather. I called Gainesville Towing Service and they sent a truck to change the tire for me. Ronnie responded to the call. He contacted my via phone to verify my location and assured me he would be there within 10 minutes. Ronnie arrived about 5 minutes later and quickly changed my tire. He was quick and efficient, checking to make sure safety guidelines were followed while not damaging my car or rim. Ronnie even had a moving blanket in his truck that he put my trunk so my flat tire wouldn't dirty my trunk. All the while the thermostat outside read 99°. My grandson's car was towed by Gainesville Towing while visiting a friend at the Varsity Apt. When I talked to Gainesville Towing I was told the cost was $304. I tried to explain he was a college student in Tennessee visiting a friend and he could not afford that kind of fee. She was very rude and told me he WOULD pay if he wanted his car. She told me they have a contract with the Varsity Apts. and they rode thru the parking lot hourly and towed all cars that did not have stickers. WHAT A GIMMICK!!! VERY UNFAIR PRACTICES FOR GAINESVILLE TOWING AND VARSITY APTS. SOMEONE MAKING ALOT OF MONEY OFF THE STUDENTS AND GUEST. I called back to get a break down for the charges and talked again to Amanda. I learned that the towing fee was only $100 and the remaining $204.00 cost was JUNK FEES!!!! I asked Amanda to explain the fees and she could not. Yesterday I called AAA because I needed air in my tires. I waited an hour for this company to send someone over to me which was fine and an hour is an OK wait time. They send over a man that tells me one phone call equals one tire to be filled. It is completely untrue when you have AAA they are allowed to even do two services for you with every call. I have taken this matter up with corporate. I am a gold member and I've used AAA for years. I do not recommend using this company. The guy was here for under five minutes and couldn't have sped away any faster from me. He was extremely lazy and rude. Now I have three tires that don't have air. I called AAA and they are sending me a different company now to come help with my tires if this company continues to work with AAA they need to get nicer people and they need to train their employees to actually know what they're doing and the rules. HORRIBLE. Although the tow truck driver (Gean) was very nice, this company has the worst tracking of cars and very rude personnel who handle the office. My car was wrecked while I was on vacation in Gainesville recently and AAA called this company out to tow my car. I contacted them since they never called me for two days and asked the girl who answered the phone whether my car was there. She said no. I got irritated because she was the second person who had told me the car was not there. This is two days after the accident and they had to find the car in a different lot than normal. Once I got the insurance worked out and the car was ready to send to the repair shop I called the same girl again and asked her whether it had been sent out to the other tow company to the repair shop. She quickly responded, "You never gave me authorization! are you giving me authorization?" I said "You NEVER even asked for authorization!" She again said "are you giving me authorization?" and as soon as I said "Yes" she hung up on me. Now I find out the key fob was not with the car when delivered. When I called her back to ask about who she released the car to, she said "I don't know who takes cars." and I asked her if she handed them the key fob and she would not give me any information other than to say "I give them whatever is on the board for the car and paperwork." So now, my car is in limbo and cannot be moved for repairs because of Gainesville Towing. NEVER USE THEM!!!! read more

We moved our daughter into college in Gainesville on August 15th. The very next day, we received a call from her saying she had a flat tire/puncture to the side of her tire. We called to the local Firestone who referred us to Gainesville Towing. I spoke with Dakota, who took all of my information, advised that Jeff, Jr would be there to get her car in about 45 minutes. She was familiar with where the car was and kept in touch with my daughter and let her know what the truck and driver would look like. I received a call from her about 45 minutes later saying that they were there to pick up the car. About 10 minutes later she texted me to say that she was in the truck and that they had the car on the flatbed and were on there way to Firestone. To say that I am appreciative of their service and kindness is an understatement. Being 4 hours away from your daughter who now has car issues was stressful enough, but, to know that they followed up, came when they said they would and took such good care of her and got her car to Firestone made the situation a lot less stressful for us!
