Pasao (I think? Fruity and tasted like oranges, delicious)

Service is 10000/10!! Staff was so patient, knowledgeable, friendly and hilarious! We ordered a bunch of different cocktails but for some of them, I don't recall the names: - Sidecar 5/5 fruity and sweet - Singapore Sling 5/5 - Highball - forgot how that one tasted lol but in my notes I wrote "good if you like Japanese whiskey" - Old Fashioned 4/5 sooo strong - Gin and tonic 5/5 refreshing - Whiskey Sour 3/5 not my thing - Secret 5/5 lycheee - Pasao 5/5 fruity, orangey - Manhattan 3/5 like an old fashioned but stronger, I didn't like the taste of that one Yes, there is a cover and then you pay for additional hours BUT it's so worth it, I loved the ambiance and the crowd wasn't obnoxious. It was so great we stayed for about 3 hours!

I had high expectations for this place based on its description and reviews. However, I left feeling a bit disappointed. It's a Japanese speakeasy in Gardena in a random strip mall. There is a cover charge of $10 per person for the first hour, and then $5 for each hour after up to $20 max total. So after the third hour there, there's no further cover charge. They don't have a cocktail menu. The bartender can basically make any drink you want. Our server suggested the gin and tonic which my friends got and I opted for a whiskey sour. We liked our drinks but it wasn't anything spectacular or out of the ordinary. Just a standard gin and tonic, and a standard whiskey sour. It was smooth and well made but considering that there is a cover charge, I expected the drinks to be phenomenal or for the vibes to be really amazing. However, I felt that the place was overall a bit lackluster. It didn't look particularly nice inside. Kinda reminded me of an old restaurant with a few tables and chairs. They had Halloween decor up and were playing Halloween music or random 80s music. I also wished the lighting was a little darker or it would have been nice if they had live music or a live DJ. Just some things I hope the owner will consider since they're charging a cover as if it's a club or exclusive lounge. We all felt like the place wasn't worth $100 (including tip) for just 3 drinks. Parking: free in plaza lot

Martini and whiskey sour. So good

My favorite bar of all time! The cocktails are amazing. I always order a whiskey sour. After coming here whiskey sours at any other bar do not taste the same! They don't even come close. So exquisitely crafted. Yagi-san is the most amazing legendary bartender. The bar itself is low key and relaxing. But the people here are the best part. Every single person here is full of joy and laughter. You will not find this kind of vibe or drinks anywhere else. I almost don't want to write this review so that this place doesn't get too popular. The best of the best !!!! Thank you Yagi-San and the rest of the Gaku bar fam!

Wow what a memorable and great experience I had here, thank you to the wonderful bartender that was serving. I am absolutely grateful my friends and I walked here looking for a bar on a weeknight. This is a Japanese style bar, different than your regular bar this a lounge that is great for a quality detailed than your normal cocktail and the ambiance is awesome for socializing or going on a date or to come have a drink yourself. Will make the greatest drink to your absolute liking at your preference. Very kind, friendly, and attentive staff, once again thank you very much.

Classic Japanese bar and lounge tucked away in an unassuming strip mall. Made an amazing highball, Manhattan, whiskey sour. The bartender is extremely respectful and amazing at his craft highly recommend

Japanese hostess bar. Ambiance was inviting, and the Gin and Tonic was a standout. Bar charge begins at $10 for the first hour, followed by $5 for each subsequent hour. Overall, a distinctive experience worth trying.

You can taste the love in each drink. I recommend the lychee martini and the espresso martini.

The best drinks in town and nice service. The place could use some remodeling though, the carpet needs to be changed and walls painted.

Since it was my first visit, the bartender walked us through the menu and shared some great recommendations. They even let us sample the frozen drinks before we ordered. We got the matchamacallit, makahiki mua, frozen ube, and frozen dole whip. Every drink was creative and delicious. This is the perfect spot for a laid-back night out. It's casual and relaxed, but with a lively atmosphere (there's a DJ) and excellent tiki cocktails.

The frozen drinks are dangerously good since you cannot taste the alcohol at all. The decorations are great and I absolutely love the art. It even features my favorite Hawaiian artist, Nick Kuchar! The space has a great layout. There are two large high top booths in the back that are perfect for groups of 8 to 10 people. The bathroom I used was gender neutral, and there is a convenient parking lot right in front. They do not serve food here, so some folks bring their own. We will definitely bring a meal with us next time! To top it all off, the service was very friendly. They were so patient explaining the whole menu to our large group.

Small parking lot that may park about 5 cars and watch the street signs for parking. Pool table & full service bar. Mostly bar seating with a banquette along one wall. What made this bar cool is Sandra, la Reina de Moctezuma as she refers to herself. Breezy, lively, nonchalante, a bit coquettish to the "right guy", socially charming to her other guests. She creates her own story line to create her aura & drama. Author John Rechy, if he were straight, would have featured Miz Sandra in one of his novels like the City of Night. Ordered a pint of Guinness & Harp combination, but I didn't call it a "black & tan" in an Irish pub for historical reasons. But Sandra told me they don't have Harp, and suggested I do a Snake Bite instead which is half Guinness & Hard Cider. I opted for just Guinness since I wasn't in an experimental mood. Later, she was kind enough to let me sample a shot of the Strong Bow Hard Cider which was smooth, sweet, acidic with actual sour apple flavour. Next time I'll have to order the Snake Bite. Don't know how exactly Irish Sly Fox is with its grunge-garage rock music. But it's a good, unpretentious, local hang out. And of course, there's Sandra, la Reina de Moctezuma who is worth the visit. 4- stars
