Since our last visit over the summer, they're now defunct & again renamed to Lucky Strike in 2025. Whew! Bowlero is actually closer to home than the defunct Gable House Bowl, & the very last bowling alley in Torrance after the demise of Palos Verdes Bowl prior to GHB. I went through a phase of bowling at least once per month in my YA years & recently started up again after having kids due to bowling birthday parties. I miss bowling... I bowled for the 1st time when I was teen & can even remember my 1st score of 77. I didn't bowl much, but I'm usually in the mid-range of 150 or thereabouts & have scored a few turkeys in my lifetime. At one point, I had planned to purchase bowling shoes so that I'm not using the public ones since I hung out with friends that either like to bowl or shoot pool. We were invited to a teen's 15th b-day at Bowlero & the space is huge! It has a mini arcade, bar, pool tables, & 40 bowling lanes that's equipped with lounge seats, blacklights, & HD screens that played movies, music videos, & sports. My daughter had a good ol' time with the birthday girl & their friends, most were from her Color Guard team. Both lanes seem to malfunction frequently enough that they didn't get a full 2 hours; the girls didn't seem that into bowling so it was fine. They were served pizza, chips & salsa with fountain drinks. I only wished they were either served before or after bowling to clean their hands since none of them thought to wash their hands between frames. Yikes! ＼(｀0´)／ None could really bowl & scoring 50+ points was an accomplishment with a couple scoring 100+; the random strikes helped in between the gutters. After a couple of rounds, the girls hung out at the arcade; it's on the smaller side with some games that offer tickets that can exchanged at the automated prize hub. I thought Bowlero would be a fun place to hold my 15 YO's birthday celebration the following month because there's so much downtime for her friends to chitchat & hangout. And I happened to find a really great Groupon Deal: $84 for 2 hours of bowling + shoes rental for 6... not sure of the normal rate, but this is $7/hour with shoe rental! I kept it small to help H build relationships with her friends. It's been only a month, & Bowlero is still riddled with technical issues that we spent more time waiting for the tech to fix the problems than bowling. Even with a lane switch didn't do much to fix the frequent downtime. I even requested to be closer to the center of the bowling alley, near the front desk due to the far left lanes' malfunctions. Again, scoring 50+ points was a real accomplishment with one g/f hitting 100+ in the 1st round. At the 2nd go, H had the highest score of 81. I'm not sure when is prime time but the parking lot was half-full at each visit & it was quite busy inside with half the alley in bowling action. Bowlero is a chill place for a family-friendly bowling game or two... if only the technical issues doesn't mar the experience.

The entrance was interesting because I'm used to just entering the doors and immediately being inside the arcade, but you have to enter through the dilapidated Lakewood Center mall first, and then take escalators up to Round1. It's also a little hectic coming here, because it's right next to Costco. There were an adequate amount of machines, but it definitely seemed smaller than the other locations I visited in LA. However, the skill games and payout rates were very reasonable and fair, and I made out quite well! I won my first Getter Spin game here because the speed was pretty good. You do have to cherry pick a bit, as some of the popular or newer prizes were behind cheese wheels.

I only come when I need to blow off some steam or there's a prize I really want. I had some issues regarding the app and connecting my card, and one of the managers stationed at the bowling area was super nice and walked me through connecting a new card and ensuring I got my points for it! Oddly enough, they felt very well-staffed for a Wednesday, and there was plenty of staff on the floor that day to help me reset a couple of times, whenever the token plush dropped out of claw's reach. There was one worker who came right when I needed him and helped reset the token back within claw's reach. I got my usahana that night!!! I wish I remembered their names so I could shout them out! Ball reaction was inconsistent and the ally uses strings. The approach was OK, but a little too slippery for my preference. Lane 23 called 9 pin strikes more than once. My self serve kiosk failed and the servers also completely ignored the help request. I received no help at any point, but was being watched the whole time by a rep. My lane got an error and I waited for about close to 10 minutes and got zero help with that too. That same rep, who was just watching my lane and saw the error, decided to offer zero assistance. This is when I took a picture because he saw that my lane was down and I had requested help at the kiosk before it went down, but he remained standing around looking. After I left to go to the front, this guy now steps in and starts doing something at the table on the lane I was at. Made no sense because I had no drinks or food because the kiosk failed. Overall, this was the worst Bowlero experience I've had in Southern and Northern California. I recommend going down the street to the Torrance Bowlero, if you have practice games and/or a seasonal pass. Kids definitely should not be wandering around the bowling alley lanes if they are not bowling. Please keep your children close. I have seen so many accidents happen at bowling alleys because kids are not inappropriate spaces. I have only been here to bold during tournaments. I am not familiar with what it is like outside of that. Parking is available in the shopping center lot. There are plenty of spaces, but I will tell you, when there's a tournament, you better get there early to get a good spot. I really like the way that the tournament was run. Arrived 15 mins early prior to my official reservation time, since it was recommended to do so because of the wait time to get shoes. ID and credit card reservation was strict at the front counter, which I did not mind at all. They are actually doing me a favor by ensuring that someone is not performing fraudulent charges. We had lanes 14,15,16 for almost 2hrs. We all had a great time. We encountered a few minor hiccups on lane 14. Misfed pins and loose pins on the side. Lane 15 bumper support went up and would not go down. Notified the front desk. They were compliant but had to wait 5-7 mins to get the issues resolved. It's a bummer we were not getting compensated for the time loss. Regardless, we still had a great time! Went to the snack bar and ordered x 2 large pepperoni pizzas, chicken nuggets and 2 pitchers of fountain sodas. Process is to order first at the snack bar and pick it up at the pizza place outside of the venue. Was a weird set up but still worked. Also ordered 2 pitchers of beer along with assorted cocktails. We all had a very good time. We laughed and we cheered. No complaints at the front desk staff. They were terrific. The snack bar workers can be alittle nicer. They need to work on customer service. I also do not agree with the paying system that is being presented. A Tip option for what? Ordering your food?. This option should be removed from this venue. The pitchers I ordered beer from the bar... they did a fantastic job. The bartender was very nice! Got good vibes from her. I gave her a good tip just for the nice vibes. Overall I recommend this place. It gets packed on Friday and Saturday. There is plenty of parking. A few sketchy patrons at the time of our experience. I had to ask for waters, and although there were 8 of us, he only brought 5 waters. After placing our mobile order, he dropped off a few plates and napkins, but overall he seemed far more focused on cleaning nearby bays and folding napkins in the back than actually checking on or serving our group. With our first food order, I specifically ordered two baskets of fries, but they never arrived. I informed the bay host, and although he walked away, he never appeared to notify the kitchen or follow up. We waited quite a while, even receiving and nearly finishing our second round of food before I finally had to ask a manager about the missing fries. Thankfully, she brought them out quickly. Throughout the visit, I repeatedly had to ask different employees for basic things waters for the kids, to-go boxes, and other simple service items that should have been checked on throughout the experience. I ended up leaving a lower tip, which is honestly much lower than what I normally leave. I'm actually a genourous tipper but he wouldn't have known that because of the level of service we got. Someone in my group even suggested I should have left only $10 based on the service. I still felt bad leaving a tip like that but I had to base it on we received, which unfortunately felt like a one-star experience. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because the food itself was decent, and every other employee or manager who helped us was kind and pleasant. I was very disappointed by the lack of understanding and accommodation shown toward my son, who has…read moreautism. My son only drinks water from a specific cup due to his sensory needs. When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected.
