This review is from a pool playing perspective so take it FWIW. The table is in gawd awful condition. If you hit the ball as hard as you can it'll roll about 4 inches. It's like playing on shag carpet if it were wet. Also it's a million degrees and muggy in the pool room area. I was told not to eat the food so didn't order anything and can't comment on the quality. Service was great. Very attentive, helpful, and fast for the amount of people that were in there. The decor inside could have been a set used in That 70's Show or in the movie Boogie Nights. It was fun to be in, have some drinks a solid smash burger (Happy Days), plat some pool, arcade games or hangout in their patio. They have a decent Happy Hour where we tried their magic mushrooms, happy days Burger, 2 drinks and hot wings. My only critique would be that my drink wasn't strong enough. I'm so glad to finally have a decent dive bar in the area this is exactly what we needed! We came for their happy hour and they have some decent deals. The parking lot is pretty small though, it was kinda empty inside but there was only one spot left. I love that there's outdoor and indoor seating, also some arcade games and a pool table. The drinks are pretty strong. The Elvis drink tasted very strong of liquor but in a good way where you could taste everything else. I went for a classic lemon drop which they made perfectly. The tater tots were solid and the buffalo wings were ok. However, the onion rings had little onion and were completely cold when we got them. All the food took pretty long and the service was so slow, by the time we'd get our food it was cold despite it not being packed. read more

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the fried pickle chips, mushrooms, and tater tots were perfect for sharing, and the Corpse Reviver No. 2 done by Leo was bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. For my birthday last month I brought about 70 people down here and we all had a blast. The place isn't too big but there's enough room to where you don't feel crammed, and they also have a big outdoor section as well. We tried just about every cocktail on the menu and collectively liked them all! Didn't get a chance to try any real food, just appetizers like the fries but those were good too. There isn't a lot of parking though, maybe fits 10-15 cars total in the back lot. Thanks to Bryce and his staff, everybody was great! read more

Popped into the Tipsy Falcon with some friends for their St. Patrick's Day Sunday shenanigans. What a fun vibe this place is throwing! Definitely an upgrade from the old Falcon Inn but playing homage keeping the falcon in the name. It's got a Regal Beagle vibe with 70's/early 80's feel, old school beer cans line the wall in the bar/dining area along with old LA Sports memorabilia and bar fixtures but in a new refreshed retro vibe. They have a nice pool table and game room with video and pinball machines where shag carpet on the wall for the finishing touch! And a great outdoor patio area with seating and TV's to catch a game. Our server (and bartender) was quick to come to our table and take our drink and food order. Two pints of Guinness were ordered and they poured a perfectly creamy pint of the black stuff. For food, we ordered the St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef sandwiches which were served on grilled rye and were delicious (but came with no sides). We came in for lunch and the 2pm Bagpipers but they obviously were delayed by being Irish and partaking in a wee bit whiskey at their previous stop, so the kind bartender offered a round on the Falcon, so very gracious! Thought I'd stop in and try this local bar that was recently taken over. It used to be called the Falcon Inn, and now it's the Tipsy Falcon -- and I have to say I was shocked when I walked in. What a transformation! The service was excellent, the food was really good, and those Korean wings... absolutely incredible. Really want to love this place. Ambiance and decor is great. Food is good. But having been here twice now the service lacks. Being in the service industry myself and my partner, we have certain expectations. First time around the bar Director (?) Chris was here and he was fantastic. Second time around wasn't great. We wanted to order food but weren't able to find someone to place an order with. We weren't checked in on and with three bartenders on and not even a full bar it's frustrating. Especially with bartenders chatting with regulars/friends and eating on the customer side of the bar without greeting or asking for full order to me is unacceptable. We did get checked in on by a reddish brunette woman by the end of our experience but we'd closed and been ignored by then. As a customer and a service industry person, wasn't a great experience. Maybe some things were happening that were not visible from the customer side, BUT we were disappointed. Hopefully things improve ! read more

Finally got to check out this place. The interior strikes the best balance between almost divey and retro. Great booth spaces and high top seating. I didn't get to check out the back areas, but they seemed spacious. I took one of the high tops and was delighted to find that they actually put some thought into their NA beer offerings (no Heineken Zero, thank Christ). Ordered a very nice Best Day Kolsch. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Went for the Falcon Sandwich, which is basically a clean version of their Bobby Flay-beating wings, and had some deep fried mushrooms added. Everything was super flavorful and satisfying. This place is a vibe. I love that it's family friendly; saw plenty of couples with their young children, strollers, etc. This is a far cry from the shady dives that once occupied this space. I can't wait to come back and try more of this menu. I think these guys may have a hit here. Recommended! read more

And the space is very hip: pool table, juke box, arcade and a patio for chilling. Gavon (or Gavyn, Gavinn, Gavonathan... idk) is a phenomenal bartender. Unfortunately he has ruined every other bartender for me. Kind, funny, remembers what people drink, somehow keeps his cool when the bar is popping off, 100% trust him with your life (or at least your next round).... and makes everyone feel like they're exactly where they're supposed to be. The drinks are delicious, the service is incredible, and now I have to keep coming back because he accidentally became one of my favorite humans. Yessssss. I live in Gardena but always drive to Torrance or one of the beach towns to goto my fun bars because the bars in this area can be a tad bit sketch but the vibe here was really good! This bar is EXCELLENT with awesome and well priced drinks and they have Far Field on tap (some of the best beers in the area) Awesome 70's theme and the owners put so much thought and effort in the remodel. It was our first time checking out the Tipsy Falcon as we wanted to walk into a local spot on a Monday night! This place is a little time capsule in the best way. The bar has that perfect retro vibe. You instantly feel like a regular even if it's your first visit and the employees were so warm and welcoming. We tried the mango-based milk punch which was an absolute standout. Super cool spot. Went in on a Monday midday. Easy parking. Chris the bartender is the man, absolute great lad. Food wise I only had the fried pickle chips and those were absolutely delicious. The ambience and interior are 5/5 The food is completely hit or miss and definitely very overpriced for what it is. The "Woodstock" vegan patty was undercooked and bland as heck. Literally tasted like mush with no flavor--do they not use any salt or seasonings here? Why was this $17? Seriously? The $17 grilled chicken sandwich was godawful: very dry, woody, stringy, overcooked, and flavorless--I couldn't taste any salt or seasoning, and I'm one who doesn't like too much salt but this had me wishing I brought my own pink Himalayan salt grinder from home. I'm not exaggerating: this was the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had, it practically felt like I was pulling feathers out of my mouth. The chicken mulitas were pretty damn good though, that avocado mousse and chipotle aioli rocks! Scrumptious dish, though a little pricey at $17 for bar food. Some of their "limited" drinks are laughably overpriced, like the "Pop Tart & Fruity Pebbles strawberry milkshake that is $26 if you add Skrewball, Bailey's, High Ground Vodka, or Evan Williams. Evan Williams is crap whiskey, so why is a sugarbomb Pop Tart & Fruity Pebbles milkshake $26 when you add nearly bottom shelf whiskey to it? Is this a joke? It's ludicrous. Come on, guys, you can do better. I wanted to give the place 2.5 stars but gave it 3 because it really does have a beautiful design / ambience, a solid pool table that's only a buck, a Simpsons arcade (think 90's Chuck E Cheese Simpson's arcade, seemingly rehoused in a modern enclosure), a Ripley's Believe It Or Not pinball machine, nice indoor booths, and plenty of shaded outdoor seating. Also, the bartenders and servers are all pretty cool! Like, actually people I'd want to be friends with, and overall they're super friendly rad people! I hope they can fix the subpar overpriced grilled chicken sandwich and abysmal vegan patty, and please don't charge $26 for a laughable novelty sugarbomb milkshake with Evan Williams. read more
