On October 15, 2025, my wife bought 275.00 dollars worth of food. She never got a 4.15 package of chicken thighs that she paid for. She called and returned with the receipt. She was walked to the security booth where the video was reviewed to see if she ever received the chicken. We shop there weekly. We've lived in Baldwin for 30 years. Paid off two houses. We will never shop at Baldwin's Gsla Fresh, we will now shop at Stop and Shop in Baldwin. read more

I was overcharged 5 tmes in 2 months. They charged me $15 for 1 lb of tuna salad which was selling for about $7.99 per lb. When I went to the store manager she said she couldn't help me. I really appreciate the unique international flavors in items sold in this supermarket. For example: Frutero passion fruit ice cream-- love the creamy passion fruit taste. 2 passion fruits in each container. Taro-- they call it Malenga but we call it taro. 99 cents a pound a bargain when you can find it! House Foods Tofu Shirataki Ramen Japanese Style Noodle Soup-- low calorie and delicious. Stop here on my way home , purchased about $100 worth of groceries. Store was clean and organized Brought French vanilla creamer by international delight . along with other items ! I live in Suffolk County Skip to this morning as I'm making coffee and begin to open and pour my creamer. FIRST OFF half the cap was all ready pulled off , then I put some in the sink and it's thick like Heavy cream like THICK Obviously we know coffee creamer is NOT supposed to be thick like heavy cream !!! Called the store explained everything and all she said was I'm sorry !! SMH Be careful what you buy before you pour ! Should have just went to the supermarket by my own home !! read more

When Gala Market in Baldwin first opened they were a prize - good variety/prices and a very courteous and helpful staff. Success must have gone to their heads - their prices, even with sales, are consistently higher than other supermarkets in the area and the staff's attitude has become more of "I'm doing you a favor" than trying to be pleasant or enhancing a customer's experience. I've given them enough chances to see if these actions were anomalies or they way they conduct business now and have come to the conclusion it's the latter. With so many other choices in the area, unless pressed for time and only needing a single item or two, I don't see subjective g myself to their mistreatment and overpaying for it anymore. read more

Went there to order from the seafood section where they steam whatever you want . We ordered Shrimp, Scallops, Lobster Tails , Crabmeat Stuffed Salmon all . One order had Garlic Butter sauce & the other Carribean Jerk sauce . All the food was fresh & in good portions . They have a large selection of seafood to choose from so it's best to go in person to choose your platter . read more

New to Baldwin, this supermarket has it all. I love the fish department. They carrier mostly wild fish so I can try many different types. I also find the meat dept. fully stocked with quality items. This is now my favorite store because it has many ethnic foods that adds spice to my life. My only disappointment is the Chobani yogurt selections. The have too many weird combos, hopefully they will bring in the 100 calorie version. The prices are very comparable to others. Hopefully my 16 year old son can get a PT job there soon. This market is very close to my house, considering it's the closest food market ever since Pathmark closed down. They have a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. They sell fresh sushi which is pretty good. I remember I was going through a health kick and I looked EVERYWHERE for frozen acai, to make acai bowls and smoothies and they actually HAD it! They actually sell acai sorbet!! The only negative thing I would have to say is that they are kind of pricey; however it's convenient and has food I like. read more

The staff is always friendly. It is more of a local market grocery store than supermarket. They have limited variety of products. They do deliever for free, you have to order via app, which the selection is very limited in comparison to in store. They don't have a big selection of in store baked items. But they have a nice variety of fresh produce and a wide selection of different cuts of meats. read more

The deli counter has a wide selection of salads; I got the crunch vegetable salad and it was delicious. You can have them make a sandwich for you right at the counter. Large sushi collection. Well priced produce - I got a nice bunch of cilantro for $.79! Limes 8 for $2. Large selection of beef and chicken in the meat department. I was surprised that it did not have more customers when I went at lunchtime; a welcome surprise to give me an easy shopping experience, but I think more people need to give it a try! 5 stars, easy! read more

Having just moved back to Long Island after sometime finding a grocery store can be tough! I recently tried out King Kullen and Key Food in RVC and both were less than stellar - fish, meat and produce not extremely fresh. After searching yelp I found this place in Baldwin and decided to give it a try. I was certainly amazed at how clean it was and how fresh everything is! They also have a wonderful fish area with a variety of seafood. They can even flavor it for you! I did not get a chance to do this, but will next time I am there. On top of everything, the prices were reasonable as well. 100% better then the other chains in the area. Will certainly be doing my main grocery shopping here going forward. read more

While I normally shop at Stop n Shop, I've begun to depend more and more on Gala over the past few months. They have a wonderful array fresh produce & breads, and their beer selection is second to none in the South Baldwin. I really like this market. The Produce Dept is always stacked with a neat supply of fruits and vegetables. Howie and his crew do a stellar job of keeping everything in supply. While the store does not have an overwhelming variety of items, what is available is usually sufficient. The Deli Dept. always looks clean, fresh and colorful. Then there is the Fish Market - just wonderful! Fresh, fresh, fresh and much of it is wild caught. My only criticism of the store is that they need to up their items in the Organic and Gluten Free area. Another great perk is that on Tues, seniors get 10%. Can't go wrong with that. read more

Excellent customer service, everyone is extremely helpful. In the spring, I had my leg in an orthopedic boot, several employees offered to help, even do my shopping for me! The store is ALWAYS clean and well stocked- even through the worst of the pandemic. This will be my new go to supermarket from now. I used to go to another supermarket not to far from Gala Fresh, and always found that I couldn't find everything I was looking for. As a result, I would end up going to three different supermarkets in order to get everything that I needed. I needed to get some last minute items for a bar-b-que and decided to go to Gala Fresh Farms today. I was so impressed upon walking in. This store is well stocked, organized and clean. So many choices and variety on just about everything. I ended up spending about one hour just browsing each and every aisle. I also ended up buying things that I really didn't need. The funny thing is, I would always drive by Gala Fresh thinking it was one of those fancy and expensive supermarkets. I could not have been more wrong. True, it is a very nice supermarket, but not expensive at all. It's very affordable and offers a lot of choices. As usual Gala Fresh Farms was clean and well-stocked the cashier was very friendly when there was a problem she call the manager over who promptly came and fixed the problem immediately and I would recommend this as a primary Supermarket although it may look small when you come in and well-stocked on the prices are excellent there is ample parking and they're the only Supermarket I know that every August as a customer appreciation day where you can try new products and visit the vendors win a raffle to great great place I will miss this greatly when I move read more

Excellent place, plentiful parking, nice variety of food. What stood out most to me is the amazing customer service. Each staff member asked me if I need any help and I really appreciates that. The store is clean no nasty smells, the produce is fresh and decently priced. The only negative I have is the eggs I purchased from this location all have blood spots. I love this supermarket. Here I can always find or order my favorite non diary ice cream Coconut Bliss! It's made from coconut milk for those who are allergic to dairy....you may want to try this brand. My all time favorite is the Salted Caramel and chocolate delish!! My sister comes all the way from Suffolk County because it's hard to find. It can be pricey but they run sales and I've gotten it for $5, it's usually around $7. Always happy to shop at my neighborhood store, and I appreciate all the workers and staff who continue to show up each day and help our community. I found almost everything I needed! Shelves were stocked and plenty of fresh food. In this time of crisis though I would expect to see a limit on the number of people allowed in at one time-and a requirement for face coverings as is being done at other grocery stores. Went yesterday at 3pm and the parking lot was full, there were no carts. And every aisle had several people. Many shoppers especially those over 65 wore nothing over their face. Very hard to maintain any distance let alone 6'. And when the lines to check out got long, the shoppers had to step back into the aisles to wait. For the safety of the shoppers and the workers, I believe these changes need to be made. read more

This is the cleanest supermarket around. All of the employees are very friendly. They will go out of their way to help you. If you need to return something no problem, if you need a rain check no problem. The deli staff are the best, they cut my cold cuts and cheeses just the way I like them. The cashiers are great also. I did my usual weekly shopping yesterday (Sunday) and bought my usual package of chicken cutlets. When I cooked them I realized they were spoiled. I went to the store today to ask for a refund. They were already aware of the problem because they told me they have already given refunds to a few customers. Well, because my receipt had already been thrown out they refused to refund my $6.00.
