This review is for delivery and I'm using this location as it's the closest one to our home and assume it's where we received our items from. So because I've never ordered from Amazon Fresh, I decided to keep the order small and simple, just ordering basic items such as peanut butter, Gorton's frozen crabcakes - don't judge as In Brooklyn it's hard to find great crabcakes and according to online chatter, this brand comes pretty darn close. We also ordered large organic eggs and pepsid ac as they were running a great deal on pepsid, coming in at $5 less per 50 quantity pack then on Amazon prime. Happy with what I've selected, I decided to pick my timeslot and place my order. Everything arrived within the window promised, and tracking was the same as tracking any Amazon delivery. Because Amazon Fresh is food oriented, and includes many perishables, everything was delivered right to the door and the delivery person was wonderful. Everything including the eggs were in perfect condition and arrived cold with good dates. Would definitely utilize this service again. read more

I've. been an Amazon Prime member for a few years and really didn't purchase groceries here.. why would I do that? Well.. since mom is unable to drive much anymore I decided to check Amazon Fresh and order a few things. I started small and safe.. a few boxes of Rice A Roni, crushed tomatoes, frozen bagels. The prices were lower than supermarkets and enjoyed the extra 10% off at checkout for Prime members and free delivery on orders over $35. ( it's really orders for $100 for free delivery but I registered for a three month trial for $35 orders). The packaging was safe, I can 90% pick my delivery times and dates and the selection is sublime. Additionally, the Amazon drivers and delivery personnel are friendly and professional. Pretty soon I was cooking Honey Chicken, latkes from scratch, Chicken Bordeaux, noodle pudding, fresh guac, turkey sausage lasagna... the skillet hasn't stopped! Mom is really enjoying my weekly visit cooking up a storm. Thus, if you are a Prime member like me and haven't checked out Amazon Fresh, what are you waiting for??? Get that skillet ready! read more

Bought 2 packs of lamb chops for $41 total. Opened the packages to a rancid smell. Returning them tonight for a refund. Sucked that I had to pivot and figure out another meal option at the last minute. Generally, a decent store but items can be pricier than neighboring supermarkets. Also, the self purchase option (where the items scan as you grab them) is no longer available at this location so you have to either go through self checkout or the cashier. read more

I came here primarily to return two items and this is the location to do so. There's plenty of parking and zero crowd, I was curious and had to look around as well! There's a variety of things that one can grab here. We took our time to stroll and pick up about $35 worth of fruits and frozen goods. While there's an option to use the cashier less to head out, I'm not quite confident and checked out traditionally. I have come here a few times since they opened and the prices have been pretty high. I started ordering Amazon groceries to my home and the prices were much better. However I came here last week and the prices were surprisingly much lower. So I actually came back twice in one week! Prices are so much lower than Target and definitely cheaper than Stop and Shop. And they had $15 coupon off $55 purchase. I will be back!!! Love these new prices. I came here yesterday and I was less impressed than the last time I came here. Shelves were empty, milk in the fridges that were 6 days from expiration. Go to Trader Joe's down the block and everything is stocked and nothing close to the expiration dates. The open food bar has a lot of questionable ingredients. I used to shop at this store but I don't like those new shopping carts. The reason for this review is that you need to speak to your customer service department. My friend placed an online order which would be curbside pickup. When she got there the app would not work so, in the rain, my fellow senior citizen went into the store to tell them that the app is not working and she was here to pick up her order. So far no sorry for the inconvenience. Her reply was Where is your shopping cart! Now my friend was sent back out into the rain to get a shopping cart! Hello, people of Earth! I'm not sure what the point of this store is, especially now that Amazon has done away with the walk-in/walk-out system. Shoppers used to be able to scan their Amazon codes (accessed via a phone application) when they walked in. When you walked out with your groceries, the magic spycam system totaled the items in your basket, you rescanned the code, and you could walk out with none's the wiser. Today, I went, and a guy explained to me the old system was done away with. Now, you either use the checkout lines -- like a sucker, I may add -- or else use a fancy-dan cart where you have to scan each individual item. Presumably you also have to work some voodoo to return an item to its shelves, but I didn't stick around for the explanation of that part. As it stands now, there's no real convenience for the shopper. So instead of listening to a bored-sounding guy try to explain the intricacies of the new shopping carts, I said a polite thank-you but no thank-you and went across the street to another supermarket where I used -- go figure -- the manual scanning self-checkout lane, only I did it without having to scan each item immediately before putting it in to the cart and, also, without the bother of having to rescan or work some spell to remove an item from my cart. read more

I have mixed reviews about this place. First time I went there was for a return 3 months ago decided to take a still in the dimly lit store. The majority of cheeses in the fridge were expired and moldy. Kept on walking and grabbed a few items. The prices were a bit outrageous. Definitely wouldn't shop there for regular groceries. Fast forward--/ I go there to do my returns and found something I like in the fresh food area. Their crunch rolls. Very tasty. I've gotten used to the concept and shop there mainly for bargains. Chicken stock for $1.50 all day long and other sundry items. BEWARE OF THE MEAT!! I've bought bad ribs, pork loins and chops on a few occasions. While the meat was cheap it must not have been handled properly. After opening the cryovac packaging, there was a funky oder. Tried marinating with expensive ingredients but that failed to alleviate the stink. While Amazon is quick with the refund I've wasted enough. NO MORE MEAT. read more

This Amazon Fresh opened only about 2 weeks ago and so there were a lot of empty spaces on the shelves still. Tons of staff around if you have questions, plus, of course, Ask Alexa towers & Customer Service. Prices are higher than I expected, with a few items also being affordably priced. App is needed to enter as well as exit the store and a receipt is emailed to you. There is a "hot bar", salad bar, sushi station, sandwich station and, if you like, you can also order Kindles, Echoes & more here. Prime members are given discounts on certain, advertised items. There are two EV chargers in the store's parking lot & ample parking. Between the limited inventory of items I normally buy & higher prices, this will not be my go-to supermarket but I will come in occasionally for sale items. read more

Terrible service. I made an order at 8am last Monday. I was giving the hours of 10pm- 11pm. After 11pm I received a message that my delivery was delayed (no problem) I stayed up late , waiting . 12:35am , I am notified that my delivery was now cancelled. instead of rescheduling for Tuesday morning or midday delivery I get the runaround from the Help Chat on Amazon. Finally, I am told to reorder my items ( Sure no problem) But now , the prices have been raised almost $25 more than I originally paid. Today is now Friday , I have not received a REFUND . Have not spoken to anyone that knows what to do. Horrible experience, I won't be using this service again . DO BETTER read more

We went out of curiosity and overall, it's not going to be the grocery store you'll go to for any other reason than that. It was fully staffed and wasn't busy at all maybe cause it's newly opened. These are the positives I could think of during our visit. The available produce like fruit and certain vegetables were reasonably priced. For instance, nectarines were 69 cents each and I think at the time the bananas were 15 cents each. They sell Whole Food's 369 brand which makes sense. Rotisserie chicken is $4.97 which is crazy low, and almost concerning. Their prepared foods look great and on certain days they give discounts. They have a customer service that'll take returns on goods with a section of their kindles and Amazon gadgets which is kind of nice if you've ever been curious. The staff was nice and helpful. You can go through with an Amazon account or Amazon credit card. HOWEVER, there were no sales whatsoever on anything else. So you're buying full price on everything else. What makes Target, Walmart, and even Whole Foods worth going to is what deals you can get out of it while shopping for your essentials. We ended up buying deodorant and I forget because he needed it and didn't want to go buy it at a drugstore but I argued with my friend that it's not worth buying it here even if we're literally in the store if it'll save us a few bucks to go somewhere else. (For next time of course). Also, the interiors weren't very friendly. It was very industrial and almost.. experimental feeling. They exposed all the electrical and there were so many cameras that it felt.. reallyyyy eery. Of course the intent of the cameras is to monitor what items you're going to purchase but... it felt like it was more than that. You might not think so when you go so who knows? Definitely not the most inviting or enticing grocery store setting though. AND... so while we checkout cause I still felt like just walking out without the exchange of the grocery clerk/checkout experience is still weird, I realize three things: 1. What if you didn't have an Amazon account at all and just wanted to go in and shop? 2. What if there was a blackout? This store depends on its cameras to monitor everyone's shopping experience and occasionally, where I live which is close to this location, there'll be a weaker internet connection and even a blackout due to storms and such. What happens then? 3. I just wished they made Whole Foods instead. There are better deals for having an Amazon account in Whole Foods than in Amazon's grocery store. There's a Stop & Shop across the street from this location and I'll remain going there regularly, I definitely won't come back here though. read more

As someone who frequents Amazon Go when in the city I was excited to try the bigger version that is Amazon Fresh. The store is new so it's still clean and people are still coming to terms with the just walk out payment method. We scanned our QR codes on the Amazon app and went shopping. The produce actually looks great (unsure what others were seeing that we did not see). The prices are comparable to Stop & Shop. Sure some items are a bit more here but most were on par with other supermarkets in the area. The kitchen offers fresh food including pizza, a deli, and a hot bar. The staff was super friendly and explained the process to everyone. There are 4 checkout lanes should you either not have the Amazon app or you prefer to pay cash. But it's so much easier (and better for introverts, LBH) to just walk out and let the app figure out what you grabbed off shelves and charge you later. If you look up in the store you will see all the sensors watching your every move. I know this is not for everybody but I've been using Amazon Go for so long and never had an issue that at this point this Big Brother concept in Amazon Fresh doesn't even make me bat an eye. read more

Amazon Fresh is a big supermarket as you can imagine. But unfortunately it's not for me. Everything I saw, I can get at stop and shop, Costco and shop rite. For the same prices. I do like that they have the Amazon lockers so you have the option of having your stuff delivered safely to the locker and not have to worry about porch pirates. I am fortunate enough to have all my Amazon stuff delivered to my job. Amazon Fresh has hot buffet, bakery, salad bar, soup bar. Meat and Seafood department. You don't need to be an Amazon prime member to go. You bring up your Amazon account and click on 'in---store code' aim your phone down to scan your QR code to enter the store. I visited this store a few days after their grand opening. They have a lot of improvements to make. For starters, it's difficult to enter this store. Literally. You are basically forced to present and scan an Amazon app to enter. From my observation, I can see how this is going to be an accessibility nightmare and a huge time-waster during busy times. I had to ask one of the employees how I could enter the store without scanning an app that I didn't have. He pointed to an area far at the end of the entrance and said I could enter there without the app. After finally gaining entry to the store, I walked down a barely-lit aisle. I attempted to view the product shelf label pricing, but the tiny font size made that impossible without having to move very close. The dim lighting of the store didn't help. When I was finally able to see some pricing, I wasn't at all impressed. The pricing was on the higher side compared to the same products available at other local supermarkets. They have a section where they sell hot foods like pizza and other food-court type fare - I didn't stop to try it, I was too busy trying to locate the exit. The only way out of the store was to squeeze through a checkout line with people busy checking out - clearly, Amazon doesn't expect anyone to leave without making a purchase. I'll stop back in (if I can remember where the non-app entrance is) and update this review at a future date, as maybe they'll have made some corrections to these problems. I have spent a lot of time working in customer service industries- dealing with Amazon support was arguably the single worst customer service experience of my life. The man at the in store customer service is powerless- they refer you to online chat. Online chat refers you to telephone representatives- the telephone representatives aren't in America, have no concept of an Amazon fresh site store, and read from scripts that have no insight, assistance, or help to any issues you may encounter. I am writing this review after 2 hours of fruitless effort to try and simply use the store- which I've done dozens of times in past- with absolutely 0 to show for it for any kind of resolution. God forbid you have any kind of serious issue with the store, you would be totally up the creek. I even had a representative (number 9 or 10 for the call, based in the Caribbean I was told) tell me I wasn't experiencing an issue, which is one of the most incredulous things I've ever heard. Avoid at all costs- go to the stop and shop across the road, or down the road in Long Beach- not only will you have better pricing and variety, but if you have a problem you can talk to a real person who actually uses the shop to resolve it. read more

An extremely disappointing experience. I was expecting so much. The store itself is depressing and oppressive. Whoever designed the interior failed their design classes. Concrete floor that is ugly and when it gets wet is an accident waiting to happen. Floor is glossy. The lighting is poor. Hard to see products. For all the time it took to renovate the building you would expect so much more. They have a deli and meat dept. No bakery. I went in for a loaf of Italian bread and mozzarella. Not available. Do not carry these items. And of course you have to be an Amazon member with the linked credit card to get past the barriers. It's so exclusive there were 4 people in the store.
