We had Uncle Giuseppe catered our office for a late Administration day. We had the food catered to our office. The driver set up all of the meals and put the heating g tray to keep it hot. We had salad with fresh greens topped with red onions, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese, and walnuts. And a caprese salad with sundried tomatoes. Eggplant rollatini, penna alla vodka, chicken parm, meatballs and chicken tenders. All of the food was delicious but not perfect. My favorite was chicken tenders. The meatballs was dense, very meaty. I felt there was not enough breadcrumbs. The marinara sauce on the dishes was very delicious. I love the sauce. The caprese salad was also delicious. I would recommend this business. read more

The bakery is phenomenal..The deli counter is as long as a football field lol. I especially love their homemade sauces and pastas. Their butcher and meals are exceptional. Prepared foods are delicious, excellent selection of meat and poultry and fruits and vegetables. Service is always on point and friendly. Minus one star for the deli line which I know is a common problem in all deli sections wherever you go but there has to be a better way to get in and out faster. Another update for Uncle Giuseppes in East Meadow NY. A man was singing with a wireless mic. Songs of long ago . Kay sera sera an old Doris Day sing and Thats amore, done by Dean Martin. I have been to this location for many years, many times. I have had both good and not so good experiences as far as the parking and it being so small and crowded at times but that was more prevalent years ago when I was also on the go with kids, work and family obligations. So besides the back parking lot being a hot nightmare the front one isn't much better. But with that being said never once were we disappointed with our food. EVER. It has always been hot, or cold, fresh, within the expiration dates, etc. What I really want to tell people about is not so much about their Italian Food because any Italian or Italian American who lives in the neighborhood and neighboring towns knows of this location. We all know that food is eccellente. It's the food we had for St. Patrick's Day that really surprised me in such a wonderful way. I am no longer mobile so I have to rely upon my husband to go for food for us. He likes to surprise me for holidays and such with a traditional dinner. He saw the ad in the paper for Uncle Giuseppe's having "The Meal". Now I am mostly Italian, 2nd generation and some Irish also 2nd generation. But we always did it up for St. Patrick's Day because my hubby is 100% Irish! Like us Italians he loves good food that is also cook well. Sometimes when you get take out from places it's just so so. I can say in all honesty that this dinner we had was as good as anything I made for this holiday. The only difference was the potatoes were boiled then broiled with just the right mix of spices that made them delish. The corned beef brisket was exceptionally cooked. It flaked apart. No need for a knife. The cabbage was cooked not as much as I would cook mine but done enough that it was a nice side. My kids loved when I put green food coloring in the mashed potatoes and the cabbage, so while this cabbage was not wilty at all, it was a little light in color but it didn't take away from the flavor. Everything had just a hint of the correct spices and the Brisket was not salty at all which happened a lot when I made mine. It was enough for us two old birds to have 2 meals out of it for a cost of $30 which then made it $15 and divide that by the two of us which was $7.50 per meal. You can't go anywhere and have food like that for that price. You can't go to McDonald's across the street and eat for that. They did a great job all around and we marked it on the calendar for next year to remember where we got it. I am sure we won't forget it though. read more

I liked it all good parking with entrance in the back and front. A wonderful deli counter. Fine tomatoes and fresh vegetables. As I have written on my other Uncle Giuseppe's location reviews, this store chain is one of my favorite Italian food marketplaces. Uncle Giuseppe's provides imported specialty meats, a large selection of deli items, baked products, fresh seafood, prepared dinners, fresh pasta, and an assortment of cheese. I have been a regular customer since I discovered the existence of Uncle Giuseppe's. My goal for today is to visit Uncle Giuseppe's to order their Zucchini Mulino. If I forget to order it again, I am sure I will be reminded by my Yelp Elite friend. Hopefully, I will not find myself traveling all day looking for the Zucchini Mulino at all their Long Island locations. read more

Stopped in here for the 1st time ever, was feeling adventurous and wanted to try out a new spot while I'm still in NY. In any case, I picked up a chicken parm alla vodka. Daaassss right, you read that right.... Alla Vodka Parm... it was insanely good. Like no I mean really good. I will def be going back for one and one of their others. Eggplant parm, meatball...etc. While their prices may be a lil pricey for some other things, it's definitely worth a look/try... especially those sandwiches. Good stuff, I'll be back. read more

Typical food market. I've not been lucky to find sales on the things I buy, so prices are a bit high in my opinion. I'm not a regular here and just stopped by for some quick food stuff. No complaints about cashiers and workers, just typical. The place is kept neat and clean, but the low ceiling (compared to other food markets) gives me a feeling of being small and not as comfortable (but that's me, not the business). Shopped at Uncle Giuseppe's today at the deli. We shop at least once a month stocking up on meat deli and fruit & veg. Today we got American cheese, provolone, Swiss cheese and roast beef which was nice and rare. See photo below. I'm wondering if the dark haired young woman who served us at around noon would want to eat a mess like this or serve it to friends/family. She was a bit of a snot too. I know this is a first world problem but she could do with some additional training...we're going to Ivarone next time and skip the trip to East Meadow. read more

What a cool store to find delicacies, and for those who don't care to cook. But beware their "sales"; they can't handle it; so don't expect product. Their Anniversary Sale touted Bone In Strip Steaks. Out of stock. Roaster Chickens were out, and the line for them went straight down the pickle aisle waiting 1/2 hour only to find they bring out 6 for the big line. And Customer "Service" refused to give rain checks "because you can wait". Again. The manager claimed he did not know what was going on. And I believe him. I've been here a few times now when shopping for clients. This is a small Italian gourmet market. They carry lots of great items for catering and hosting dinner parties. Don't expect to fulfill all your shopping needs here. They have a deli counter here and a refrigerated section that supplies lots of oven ready items like pasta dishes and meats. There is also a small bakery department with a nice little selection of pastries, refrigerated pasta etc. I'm not too crazy about produce here at all. Not much to choose from. The staff is very helpful and they keep lines moving. The deli counter folks are also great. Yesterday they had some great samples available as soon as you walk in the entrance. My only issue here is how small the store is. It's difficult to maneuver through and they do not carry everything. Especially for your personal needs and paper goods supplies. read more

I have shopped here for the last time . First , they must switch out the expiration dates . I've gotten bagels home and the top one is fine and underneath is all moldy. Same with cookies . Top later is fine underneath are moldy . Ground meat is bad and smelly by the next day . Or a red layer is wrapped around a chunk of a slimy brown. Last two times , workers had a Clorox spray bottle to clean counters . What they were spraying was being sprayed directly on the produce . The deli glass was open with food and the worker was spraying the inside of the refrigerator. We have bought hot dogs and when we opened the package the smell was so horrendous and the liquid was like gel. They just seem to not care about what they are over charging you for. If you're Italian, or half Italian, or Italian by injection or association, this is your place for any type of grocery item you could possibly want for great Italian eating at home. I'm talking a huge deli counter with specialties like calamari salad, stuffed artichokes, fresh made lasagna. Cheese section with four kinds of gorgonzola, neverending fresh meat cases with every cut of beef, pork, veal, chicken and turkey you could hope for, home made sausage, gourmet quality ready to cook patties...eye-popping goodies in the frozen seafood case: lobster tails big and small, massive king crab legs and more. And the bread, oh, the fresh baked bread, rolls, and breadsticks. I didn't linger to drool over the cakes and pastries at this point in time but others have told of them in reviews. Canned and jarred goods - you in the mood for pasta con sarde? Looking for caponata? Need a can of scungilli? Lupini beans? Marinated mushrooms or artichokes, stuffed cherry peppers, pesto genovese, anchovy paste.... you get the idea!! Asti, Cento, Rienzi, all the popular imported brand names. It's all here AND, prices seem lower than average on a lot of these products. Reason: this is what they stock and specialize in. You might find pesto at Stop and Shop, but you're gonna pay more. (By the same logic, you're gonna pay more at Uncle G's for cat food or a bottle of Heinz ketchup, but that's really not what you're here for.) A great produce section too, come and get your fennel and parsley root, and all kinds of fresh herbs. Plenty of olive oil, other oils, vinegars. Several were seen to be at good sale prices. The employees were friendly, welcoming, cheerful, and focused. We only stopped in for olive oil and to browse, but also scored some gorgeous veal cutlets, a beautiful bastone, some crushed tomatoes (on sale, and you can always use a a can) and a nice chunk of pecorino romano. I normally have my lunch every day at Uncle Giuseppe's, in Melville, today the guy from the pizzeria grabbed the pizza with his hand and was also at the register, there is usually a girl and she always wears gloves and takes them off when collecting, when I told him not to touch my pizza with the same hands that he is charging and that I wanted him to put on gloves, another guy (worker) told me that he didn't need to wear gloves because the pizza was going to get hot and the oven kills everything, and I told him I didn't want the pizza, I find it disgusting that the same hands that touch the money touch my food, no more Uncle Giuseppe for me‍09/20/23 read more

I've been using Uncle G's curbside pick-up in East Meadow for over a year now. When people ask why I'm still using this service - I tell them 3 reasons. First, it's so easy to go online and order - major time saver for me. Second, I still don't want to stand close to people in line at the store (East Meadow store is very small). Three, incredible service from the curbside team. They are all very good - Yvonna is the best, Hailey was also very good and there have been several others as well. If I need to change my order, I just call up. If they don't have an item, they call and will run around the store and find a substitute if I want it. There are cheaper grocery options on Long Island, but Uncle G's food is good and their service is better than any giant supermarket in the area. read more

The is one of the smaller Uncle Giuseppe's locations. They still have the go-to items you would expect to find in an Italian market, such as pasta, salad bar, fresh cheese, all sorts of sauces, pastries, etc. but if you needed anything besides that, you might be stuck. The prices are okay, a little higher than an average market but you get what you pay for. Their pizza dough is great and their pre-made pasta dishes are always a hit. I'm a fan of stopping by and grabbing something that only requires me tossing it into the oven on nights after work where the last thing on my mind is cooking dinner. read more

East Meadow Store: Bought raw pre made meatballs here. 6 for $8. Cooked them at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. When fully cooked and spaghetti was ready, we sat down to eat and sliced open the meatballs. They were bright red inside and not because they were raw...the meat is apparently sprayed with something, maybe to make brown older meat look fresh.. But it was disgusting. Call me an idiot since I had the same exact experience with the massapequa and east meadow stores last year with meatballs and meatloaf. I occasionally buy meat at the east meadow store when I can go to my usual butcher but usually only chicken... But never again. Apparently both these stores do the same thing. See my January 2015 review about the meatloaf and the photo showing the same BS. I am sure I am not the only one. When you buy your chopped meat, take notice after its cooked. The red inside is not because you undercooked your burgers or meatballs. I will never buy the tainted meat there again. It's too bad because I do like their salads and prepared foods...I will just stay away from the beef for sure. read more

The selection of delicious gourmet Italian and American favorites, the plentiful selection of fresh produce (not the cheapest I must say), a deli section that has wonderful ideas for any meal, especially when accompanied by Giuseppe's fresh bread, cheese, and salad novelties. They have a nice bakery area and the seafood is fresh, though expensive...although you keep your eyes out this time of year for amazing lobster specials. Now, the greatest part of shopping there? Listening to the classic Italian soundtrack, and letting the songs pleasantly permeate your brain. We are long time customers and love their prepared foods especially eggplant Parmesan, salads , etc, I could go on. Their sauce is awesome! We have catered many times and everything is always delicious and gets high praise. My complaints would be the store is extremely small, sometimes they mess up orders, it gets crowded, they keep the store so cold. I wish they would expand as the other locations have much better layouts. Prices are higher but you get what you pay for, IMO. read more

Holy crap this place has loads and loads of delicious goodness. Set up like a grocery store, the outer rim has all of the things you know you want. They have a giant meat section with house made sausages of all meat varieties, fresh beef and delicious pork. They're chicken sausages are some of the best I've ever had. They also gave a great produce and dry goods section. The real star of this show is the deli and prepared foods section. Theb pretty much havd any salad or meat dish you can imagine and it's all and incredibly fresh. Then there's the cheese. There seems to be a mile of it and they again have every kind you can think of. Also they have house made fresh mozzarella. If you want Italian specialties, you want Uncle Giuseppe's! read more

Hey friends, Welcome to the Uncle Giuseppe's in East Meadow. I needed a few specialty items for my party. Hey, Yelp tells me there's a Uncle Giuseppe's right nearby, let's give it a try. Pulling in to see Uncle Giuseppe's in East Meadow, I realized that parking here was much tighter than expected. I could see that this was a much smaller store than others that I have visited. Walking inside I could still see quite a few of the uncle Giuseppe favorites, but the store seemed older and a bit disorganized. Unpacked boxes and items were lying around in the aisles. Seems this location is trying to jam too much stuff into one little store. They had so much stuff but it seemed to be too much and overwhelming. Because of the small size of the store. The aisles, really close and tight. Good luck if 2 people coming at the same time with shopping carts. I asked where the seafood department was, and I was pointed to a single pre packaged fish and shrimp cabinet. Oh no. One of the items I needed for the party were extra large cocktail shrimp. Needing a much larger and modern Uncle Giuseppe's, I decided to leave here and travel to the Brand New, Giant Uncle Giuseppe's in Melville. It's literally 10 times the size of this store. Seriously, can't get enough of their chicken sliders. Everything is made fresh and everything is delicious. I've come here for food for my barbeques and I'm so in love. The food is clearly of high quality and I have no complaints with this place or the selection. Great pasta selection. Just snagged a box of pumpkin ravioli that i've yet to try, but I have high hopes for it. All in all, great place if you're looking for some great fresh food. read more
