I cringe when my wife sends me here because it's comically expensive compared to other places. Yesterday I chose to go because I needed ice asap. I open the door to freezer there are two bags left and both are open and 1/2 empty. I ask the cashier if they have others. He said no and continues to ring both up at full price. This is a nice local supermarket and convenient when you need a few things. I am addicted to their chicken salad. It's delicious. I will say that their prices are definitely higher than your typical stop & shop. The store has a diverse selection of products and good prices. They also offer great cooked complete meals ie chicken marsala, turkey with stuffing & veggies, grilled salmon & veggies. The manager is there during the week, but not around on weekends and that's when the hired teens run the place with very unprofessional and downright nasty attitudes. While it is a small store, not very modern, has higher prices than big chain stores and may smell somewhat like bleach, the staff that works there incredibly pleasant, They always provide wonderful customer service, they are always open / available to their community through weather emergencies and tough times in the world. Nothing organic, but all of the staples. - Surprisingly reasonably priced, good quality meats and poultry to be found in the butcher section. - I have seen a line by their deli counter where they have salads and prepared foods. Not something I'm into, but clearly they have a following in that department. Not good: - When I'm making rice pudding and forgot cashews and cardamom? Nope. Definitely not. They had mixed nuts and a dozen kinds of Mrs. Dash, but no serious spices. - When I wake up to find no milk in the fridge? They do not stock any organic dairy products. Because of the growth horomones pumped into cows, this is something I won't budge on. - I mentioned earlier, no organic produce. Also, they have these angled bins for fruit and potatoes, when you try to move one it starts an avalanche. - Higher prices on many items (ex. Frozen artichokes $4.49. Small, expensive, High Quality food products. Ya get what you pay for ! No lines to check out. Friendly people work there. They have a HOT PLATE with delicious fresh home cooked meals on it, great when you pop in after work. When Hurricane "Sandy" struck, everyone was down without power. This little superette was able to cook baked chickens and turned them out in an assembly line to hundreds of hungry people who could ONLY pay by check (no power), VERY RISKY business. A nice local supermarket when you don't want to deal with the crowded parking lot of the bigger supermakets or the big box stores. You get in and out of here quickly and they still have many of the same items you might look for in the bigger supermarkets, although since their shelf space is more limited, you don't necessarily have the brand selection you get in other supermarkets, so it is a trade-off in that regard. This limitation also looks like it applies to their deli selection (although I haven't actually bought any deli counter items here). read more

My friend recommended this place to me, said its a great little place. I was here only one other time with her and I liked it. My second trip here, whoever is the cashier on the end, by the deli department, back door, wow, she needs to go back to learn how to pack groceries and maybe not throw my stuff around once she scans it. Management opens as many registers as necessary to speedily exit the store. Their freshly made hot food meals are delicious and reasonably priced.
