I feel so lucky to have been introduced to Gerry years ago and have since worked with her on corporate meetings, entertainment industry events and even my own wedding and can honestly say that there is no one out there that is as DETAILED, CREATIVE, PASSIONATE, DEDICATED and all-around enjoyable to work with as Gerry! My wife and I had a lot of fun during the 12 months leading up to the wedding and co-creating our vision for the ceremony and reception. There were many more enjoyable moments than otherwise, but still some that became stressful. This is where the comfort of having a confident and hardworking Wedding Planner made all the difference. The questions Gerry guided us through at each stage, ensured that we were being creative about the ways this day could uniquely symbolize our life-long relationship for all our sets of (crazy) friends and (crazy) family. Gerry effectively prioritized which wedding planning categories we should focus on further in advance, and which could wait until later. This led to my wife and me not feeling overwhelmed. We did not make things easy on Gerry, but she was up to the challenge in every way. The venue we chose required an exorbitant number of vendors, as it was not capable of handling many of the wedding services (in-house). On top of that, we wanted to get reasonably close to our budget, and that made things a bit more difficult for us to get all our must-haves incorporated in the plan. Gerry remained organized while managing an extensive list of vendor bookings, payments, and reminders. Having over 200 guests makes each of those tasks more time-consuming to coordinate, but that didn't phase Gerry either. The last shout out I will give to our awesome Wedding Planner, is about her ability to control the temperature. This is something I learned about in graduate school. One of the attributes of an exemplary adaptive leader is to know the appropriate times to 'turn up the heat', and when to 'cool things off'. Integrating all the personalities and requirements of each of the vendor groups required Gerry to do this in a masterful way. She could be as tough and sweet as necessary when necessary. It is going to be so hard to put into words how amazing this woman it is, but I am certainly going to try! We just got married at Rancho San Antonio in Santa Ynez, and had the most PERFECT day, which could not have happened without Gerry. She was available to us whenever we had questions while planning, and met with us throughout the process to organize our special day. When the weekend finally came, she worked from morning to night both Friday preparing and setting up with us, and Saturday making sure every single thing was perfect. I left all of my decor and signs and boxes of set up items that I had collected for months in her hands on Friday, and when I got to our site Saturday, I was blown away at how beautifully she had put it all together!! I am a bit OCD and have trouble putting things in other people's hands, but not with her!! She put everything together in ways even better than I had envisioned, and did not forget even one small detail. And then the wedding day timeline! She kept us on track and ensured that every single one of the wedding events we wanted to cram into our few hours happened, and kept us on schedule, all while also letting us have our fun and spend time with our guests. The owner of our venue commented they had never seen a planner work so hard. And the next day, when we came to collect our things, everything was packed up for us and with such great care for our collectables. I recently tied the knot in September in Santa Barbara, CA. My wife and I were in major need of a wedding planner for two reasons 1) our schedules were way too hectic to fully lead the charge on planning a wedding and 2) we just don't have the create eye and ideas that we knew we would get if we brought someone on board to help us. After one phone call with Gerry, we knew she was going to be a great fit for us. She had a lot of energy, great ideas and was super organized. And you could just tell she knew her sh*t. We wanted our wedding to be an event that would be talked about for months. It was black tie, formal and elegant, with of course, some slightly over-the-top pieces in it :) Gerry came on board right from the start with helping us nail down a venue. We found the perfect one. From there, we worked with Gerry for nine months planning every detail. Gerry made everything very easy on us. She came to us with great ideas and always kept every detail in mind every step of the way. Things we would've NEVER thought to include, Gerry did. I know there were times when my wife and I were a pain in the ass. We made some big changes at the last minute and Gerry rolled with it perfectly and worked with the vendors to make sure our changes were made. Gerry handled all the vendors and coordinated everything perfectly. So much so, I had a couple vendors email me after the wedding saying how well organized everything was (thanks to Gerry). On the day of the wedding, everything was SO ON POINT. Everyone tells you to prepare for something to go wrong on your wedding day, but on our day everything ran so smoothly. She was so professional, I didn't even hear about it until after the wedding and our guests weren't even aware of it. Magic! Gerry was the coordinator for our wedding at the Santa Barbara Unitarian Society (ceremony) and Belmond El Encanto Hotel. She and her assistant were just fantastic! We met with her in LA a few times to go over the timeline, and she even came to our house a few days before the wedding to load items into her car, finalize the layout, timeline and vendors, and calm us (me) down! We really appreciated how she's organized and gets things done, but she's never pushy--it's all about what the bride and groom want. We had an extremely complicated escort card layout, guests with last minute needs, and some nontraditional parts of our wedding, and she was able to coordinate all of that beautifully. There were so many other things that she and her assistant did that I didn't even notice at the time, such as buying a crochet hook at the last minute to button all the buttons on my dress, moving furniture into my parents' rental house late at night, and working with hotel and church staff and all our vendors.
