I've been having trouble finding a place that can properly highlight my hair, I can stop looking. Galatia was amazing. She knew exactly how to work with my hair and it looks amazing. I have very fine hair that takes color quickly. She timed it perfectly so that it wasn't too blonde. The service is professional. I felt welcomed the minute I walked through the door. I was offered tea, water, coffee and bagels. Everyone was super friendly. After my highlights were done I got a haircut (only an inch) and the brush being used was great, I ended up buying it and love it. I needed a quick haircut before going on vacation and came to Galatia Mods after a recommendation from a friend. Suzy was super friendly and did a great job of cutting my hair. I can be kind of picky but she gave me exactly what I wanted! She also cut my mom's really curly hair and she was happy with her result as well. You need an appointment ahead of time, otherwise you will be rushed off with wet hair, having to request to dry it first before paying. Wanted dark brown color, got jet black instead, asked for an explanation or recommendation for the hair mask promotion for dry, processed hair, for an additional $65, charged, with no effect. Identical to a $4 drugstore conditioner. If you're European American aka WHITE, you'll feel right at home but otherwise, not so much, incredibly awkward, similar to 1960s mindsets in late 1990s outer shells. Good luck! i am genuinely so disgusted with my hair cut that i feel sick. i walked into the salon yesterday and spoke with the front desk girl about getting a cut, and she suggested i speak with suzy. i told suzy i needed a cut for my extra long hair, and that i wanted mid-chest length, which is a phrase another hairstylist in a different salon had used awhile back, which was a good length for me (but she left that salon and i could never find her again). after the conversation with suzy, i looked at yelp reviews & the salon's instagram, then decided to book an appt for today. turns out my appt was never entered into the calendar. luckily the salon was empty so i was still seen at my appt time. i specifically asked suzy to cut off at MOST 3 inches and she said no problem, she would only take off 2.5, which was even better for me. at the end, she claimed she only cut 2.5 inches, but as soon as i got out of the chair, i hated it. i realize now that the chair height was never adjusted high enough for me to see my entire head in the mirror during the cut. i am kicking myself for not realizing, but it isn't something i've had to ask for before. at home i took a ruler and measured from where my hair length was before (around my belly button) to where my hair is now (about two inches above mid-chest length). the amount of hair she cut = SIX inches. the angles suzy made do shape my face, and if not for the length i wouldn't be so angry, but i am so miserably disgusted that i found suzy, who doesn't know the difference between 2.5 inches and 6 inches. and all this is just a few weeks away from new years eve. having a stylist tell you she understands what you're looking for when she actually doesn't, right around the holidays, is the worst kind of hair salon experience i've ever had. read more

Wish I could give LIANNA 100 stars. My hair was once again resembling an old, worn out mop. The ends were so dry, I was contemplating scrubbing the dishes with it. My sister had a balayage done several months prior, and she was begging me to make an appointment with Lianna. It's been six months since she had her hair dyed, and she still receives compliments daily. So I finally grew a pair and made an appointment. Parking is difficult, BUT you can park in the lot right by the salon and Galatia Moda will reimburse you. How simple is that?! The salon itself is beautifully designed. Super chic and cozy. Lianna is so sweet and welcoming. Best scalp massage ever!!! They use really great products and my hair has never felt this silky before (this is after I washed it.) I explained to her in detail what I wanted. She took the time to really listen and made sure we were both on the same page. She is sooo good at what she does. I feel like when it comes to cutting hair, you either have it or you don't. This girl has it! She is so friendly and funny. It was overall the best experience. I love the cut and layers. Not sure how I feel about this place Got an amazing cut but color was horrible. Went back to fix it and was told some bullshit that it takes alot of times to get my highlights the color I want (wanted reg golden color not plantinum) Top of my head was orange highlights and rest was blonde so second time I let her gloss and and some more thinking the orange ones will be fixed Well wasn't fixed and rest of my highlights she made brassy It looks horrible after dishing out over 350$ and everyone has said how my top highlights don't match my bottom color highlights Update: went back and owner said she would fix it Let's say she tried and made it little better but will def not be visiting this place again 3 times two diffrent ppl and I'm still wearing my hair up till I get to see someone else in a few months read more

I had an appointment to get extensions on my pixie cut and I trusted the stylists to do wonders with my hair , especially considering a lot of their work looks beautiful ... but boy was I wrong. There weren't enough clip in extensions in my hair so it looked thin and you could see the back was empty and had all of my short hair. Rather than telling me that the extensions weren't going to work for me, the two stylists continued to do my hair. They never showed me the back of my head (as salons usually do) and it was sparse and didn't look good at all when I eventually saw it. Overall the styling looked horrible and I paid $100 pretty much for someone to put extensions in my head and cut them and for another person to curl it. The cut also is weird and now the extensions are like a puzzle piece and are hard to figure out how to put back in. Super disappointed and wasted money just to be left with nothing. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT AN HONEST CREW WORKING WITH YOU OR IF YOURE NEW BECAUSE ITS VERY CLIQUY!! Side note: One of the women at the front desk was super rude and kept giving weird looks. read more

Galatia does my highlights and also cuts my hair regularly and always does an exceptional job! She also somehow does this so fast, even considering I have very thick and long hair. People always comment on how great the highlights come out. She also did my hair on my wedding day. She tried multiple styles until I was really happy. When I have gotten my hair done in the past with other stylists, I would feel uncomfortable telling them if I didn't like the style, but not with Galatia.
