Been living nearby for 2 years now, normally I make my own pizza at home, today was my sons birthday we had a small party at home, I asked my wife to order pizza from anywhere she wanted? She picked this place hideout G. I'm 47 and I've been around long enough to know when someone gives off bad vibes, doesn't like me or is just plain douche or bigot, noticed this one lady as soon as I entered to my left was not the person I should talk to. Smartly picked the friendlier lady to my right. She butted in, asking "what's the name?" Like about 6 times, to the other nicer lady, I was right there, and she completely ignored me as if I didn't exist. She then walked somewhere came back and said "what's the name?" Again, "no I don't see it or it's not ready". There was another lady who also was hanging out in their waiting benches playing on her pc, I said hello, because place is small, we were shoulder to shoulder? and her tone was like "how dare you speak to me?" As she barked back I'm good. One star because the one nice lady that helped me out at first came through with pizzas quickly. Not long after the grumpy one said "she didn't see it or it wasn't ready" don't think I'll be visiting this place again. Our first time here and we really wanted to like it Our mushrooms were cold The pizza was tasty but not great. It's hard because everyone likes their pizza a different way. This pizza was light on the sauce and heavy on the cheese I may have given it a higher rating if it was not for seeing the staff not monitoring mask wearing by patrons to their tables. Come on people follow the rules or we could go backwards again and then there will be no indoor seating There was an employee, clearly a manager or maybe even the owner, changing tv channels who had is NOSE hanging out of his mask. I hate like heck to write bad review but here it is. I ordered delivery eggplant Parmesan with mostaccioli with extra marina. Delivery was timely but eggplant was thick and undercooked, pastas was hard as a rock too. Al dente Is partially cooked, this was extreme. While the flavor of the sauce was good it was inedible. I threw the entire dinner away. There you have it - no other words to explain. It was awful! I will never order from or eat there again. Hope your experience is better than mine. read more

What's the hurry? I don't understand why the server was in such a rush. It's like she was in a hurry to get our order in so she could then ignore us for awhile. I hate feeling rushed. If I'm eating the bread, don't rush the salads out. Take your time. If you are ladeling the soup into the bowl and you spill on the rim, wipe it off. There's no rush. Relax. I don't understand how a server who seemed to be so busy still managed to not keep up with our drinks. I had to ask for my second drink, which is server malpractice and our server only got one drink I'm sorry but I did the job for many years. All you have to do is make sure the food is correct, that it's good and everyone is satisfied and that they have drinks. Make sure everyone enjoys the experience and then collect your minimum 20% tip. Having a good personality helps but it isn't necessary. Good service is. I would not count our service as good. I was disappointed. My food wasn't good and that's my fault for ordering it. I've never had flavorless Chicken Marsala before but that by itself isn't a deal breaker. What bothered me is that the server never came around to check on us after we got our food. I took one bite and realized it didn't taste good (chicken was cooked very well so there is that) and some guy came around and I said he could take it away. He didn't inquire as to why I was returning my meal with one bite gone. He didn't care. Eventually the server came around. My food was already gone. No mention of it. I'm not the the type to make a big deal about something like my food being not good. But pretty much everyone's food had something unappealing going on. My sons burger was way over cooked and we had to wait for it longer than everything else. Why even ask how we want it cooked? If it comes dry and overcooked, then don't get our hopes up. My wife was icked out by the pools of grease on top of her stuffed shells (that doesn't really bother me and I thought her shells were descent). My daughter really liked the whitefish. Honestly, we can deal with bad food if we can have some drink refills without having to stop the server and we don't feel rushed. It was weird because the pace was fast until the order was in, then we hardly saw the server. It wasn't busy at all. Servers were sitting around. I just don't get it. Where is the manager? When there is so few people in there, why not go around and check on things? It's frustrating. I've had bad food and I've had bad service but I've rarely had both, though it seems to be happening more and more these days. Places like Galatis just go through the motions. No one seems all that concerned about whether the experience is nice. They have their mental checklist and they rush through it. It's like a jobs program in that place. They do the bare minimum, and they don't do it well, and then they expect you to drop the $100 and leave because it's not about you. The funny thing is I'd spend far more than that to have a nice meal with my family and walk out full and satisfied. I like to watch my wife have a few drinks because she works hard and deserves to cut loose sometimes. It's not about the money, it's about the experience. Only when the experience is bad that I care about the money. Then I feel like I'm just giving it away. And that's how it felt tonight. I walked in there hungry, kinda excited and ready for some family time (and no dishes to do at home) and I left even hungrier, irritated and unsatisfied, but $100 poorer in under an hour. And I still left 20% because I don't have it in my heart to go lower than that, but I'll never eat there again. Galatis used to be so good. I don't know what happened. My best friend and I went here together for lunch last week to try for the first time. I have to say I was pretty impressed! I went here not knowing what to expect - and I was pleased. I am not a fan of sports bars or video gaming in restaurants, so that is why I took one star off - other than that this was great. We got jalapeno poppers which were done very well and were not greasy which I greatly appreciated! I got the spinach rotolo and the vegetable arrabiata to bring home for my husband- both with their vodka sauce. The vodka sauce is PHENOMENAL and both dishes were done perfectly - all vegetables were cooked right. I really loved that they had quite a few vegetarian options to choose from. Our server was really friendly and did a great job as well. Will definitely go back again. read more

Unfortunately, I can no longer support this local establishment after my family's experience tonight. Our server clearly hated her job and appeared less than pleasant throughout our entire meal. When she did check on us before our pizzas arrived, she appeared very inconvenienced when she dropped off plates, napkins, sugar for my iced tea and a drink refill for my husband (in which she asked him if he wanted one). All of which were not requested by us. What really upset me was that when she finally dropped off the pizzas, she placed one IN FRONT of our infant sitting in his highchair. The moment she left, he touched the pizza and burned his hand. He screamed his head off ruining the mood with everyone sitting around us. NOT ONCE did she check to see if everything was okay when he was clearly bawling his eyes out. My son finally calmed down after my husband picked him up, wet his napkin with the condensation on his glass and put it on his hand, and rocked him. The server was still nowhere to be found. In addition, she screwed up one of the pizzas, putting half pineapple instead of pepperoni. She brought it out and realized the mistake she had made and offered to make my husband another pizza. Although she messed up, she appeared like we were inconveniencing her. So being the nice person my husband is, he just said he would be fine with a side of pepperoni and he would just PUT IT ON his pizza himself. Most servers would have tried to discount the check or insist on making a new pizza for the error, but not this server. I had already lost my appetite after two slices and my husband and other son were finished eating. It came to the point that when a hostess walked by our table, my husband had to ask her for boxes and the check. Our server came out finally but without a smile on her face. We have worked with Elaine before with a catering order, and we were very satisfied. Unfortunately, the poor service has turned me off from ever coming back here again. read more

We popped in this past Sunday in hopes that the Bears might show up and play football. Wellllllllllllllllllll, as you know they lost but we came out winners with Galati's great beer selection and the free pizza at half time. Our server was tip top too. There with a large group recently. Service lacked any personality. Order was wrong and when the correct order came out it was not fully cooked. Lives in the area for 10 years and this was my first time going to the restaurant overall the food was very good service was good my only issue is during this pandemic none of the waitresses were apparently required to wear a mask while serving customers. I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that they're right next to you and Over are you talking it just is smart business to make your customers feel uncomfortable. I have been to Galati's Hideaway a few times now and its is a mediocre sports bar at best. Usually my husband and I sit at the bar. Service is usually good, the place never seems to be busy or full, we do usually stop in on weeknights. Their specials are pretty good, Mondays are half priced pizza's, which we have had on multiple occasions and the pizza is always good. Food and Drink selection is great, they have a lot of options and the prices are good. There just isn't one thing that makes this place stand out compared to other sport bars in the area, but it is definitely a "safe" place to go to for good food. read more

We have been waiting all week to gather somewhere as a family and enjoy a meal before school starts. We thought Galati's would be a good place to go to support a local business, but we will not be returning anytime soon. The issues all came down to the basics. It started with a server who was not friendly. A simple smile goes a long way when greeting guests. The only time she seemed at all friendly was when we were nearing the end of our meal. Additionally, waiting on drink refills seems to be a hospitality value of the past, but SUCH an EASY way to keep patrons happy. We were also irritated, though we rolled with the punches, that the server seemed to rush us along. Lastly, and this is the biggest complaint and one that any restaurant should not have is that the food was just not good. My husband's chicken marsala was void of any flavor. My stuffed shells were mushy and the top was greasy. My daughter seemed to enjoy the white fish but that's basic enough so I imagine it was adequate. Lastly, my son stated he did not like his burger which I don't think I've ever heard from him. I'm not surprised because it looked like a hockey puck. With today's prices I expect not only people who want to encourage people to return by friendly attitudes and good old work ethics but also food worth paying for. Such a disappointment. Until this place shows a little more gratitude for the people that spend their hard earned money, they're just another restaurant that will go out of business. I think the staff does the best they can, however are limited by their management/ownership. There is a manager who constantly walks around with a pen behind his ear and doesn't look at the filthy tables in front of him...I've had too many experiences ruined. The service here deteriorates each time we decide to give Galati's another chance. Tonight we waited on the bench as soon as you walk in the restaurant from 8:35 to 8:51. The small child at the counter was trying to help someone with what looked like another double charge (which we've experienced twice here) and looked over at us numerous times. We were being patient since they were open until 10 and not in a hurry. Finally, while still trying to figure out what he was doing he asked us if we were waiting to be seated. Was he serious? Yes, of course, we're waiting to be seated. He tells us at 8:52, over 15 minutes later that the dining room closed at 9. Remember, it's only 8:52 at this point and nowhere does it say this. I definitely recommend this place, I'm a salad kind of girl... there side salad with an entrée is amazing ( house, or Cesar ) the service was very friendly at the bar and table side. The food portions are generous and the price is decent. I ordered the beef kabob, with baked potato ( cooked perfect) and a large side of veggies. My friend had the bbq ribs. My daughter and I came here for dinner last Sunday night since we only had a short while before we had to get to a meeting. Sorry of going to Tracks or Cary Ale House no restaurants other than fast food was open, so we gave Galatis a try. We had gone to their old location three years ago and wasn't impressed then and had avoided coming to the new place for the very same reason... rightfully so upon hindsight. Service was good, not exceptional, though. But the food was horrendous. The chicken rice soup was very sparse on both the chicken and rice, my daughter ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo and I think someone dropped the jar of chopped garlic in there too try and ward off any vampires that might have been around for Halloween. Meanwhile my Rotolo was so salty I could barely finish a third of it- and that was with drinking all of my beverage and both of our waters. We will make sure to not come back again, for at least another three years until I lose my mind and decide to give them another try. They've been around for years so somebody must like burping garlic and interesting as much salt as a deer does when it finds a salt block, but that doesn't describe me... read more

We have been coming here for years, different restaurant names and owners. Tonight, a Friday night, we sat at the bar. The sauvignon blanc is listed as Franciscan and that was taken off the menu over 6 months ago. They are understaffed at the bar and the folks next to us didnt want to send back their calamari even though it was over done. Our meals came out 20 minutes apart so my husband ate half mine waiting. His steak salad was ordered medium and came out well done. My margarita pizza was oily and I will be charged for extra basil to just get enough on there to make me happy. We order delivery from here about once a week. Our order is always the same and really straight forward - 2 strombolis and 2 extra cups of sauce. Somehow, at LEAST 2 out of 3 times, they screw up the order. Usually it's forgetting the extra sauce - annoying but the food is really good so we overlook it. Then there's the other times where the strombolis are either made with the wrong ingredients, burnt, or hard - like they were sitting around for a while. Oh, and this is after waiting an hour for the delivery. Overall, I would give them 4 stars for the food but 2 stars for their order accuracy. read more

Deciding to try this place out seeing that I've never been there before. Went there for lunch and the bar portion was the only section that was open. The first thing I noticed was that the portions are pretty large here. The food was about average. They cooks smother most items in sauce or gravy, which isn't really too tasty.
