The cookies are delivious, cupcakes are full of flavor (many of them filled) and the pastries are delightful. Off the square and adjacent to a very cute hat shop - cupcakes, wedding cakes, cannolis, and pies (just to name a few specialties) using Mom's full-fat favorite: REAL BUTTER! That's why the frosting on my OHH LA LA chocolate cupcake (filled with tres leches) was gooey and rich just like homemade but order-on-demand. What is not to like about this specialty cupcake location? There is nothing not to like! It's a great location right on the square, as well as the server being friendly--you also can't go in without finding the flavor of treat of your dreams! Even if you aren't a huge cupcake person, they have cookies, cheesecake, and everything you could want (even a sign with Will Farrell as Elf saying that they have the World's Best Cup of Coffee)! The cupcake flavors change, but they always have a variety, including red velvet cake, tiramisu, German chocolate cake, strawberry, lemon-blueberry, and so many others! I've tried most of these, and I won't lie that they all have hit the spot! Tiramisu may be one of the favorites but I do love me coffee and tiramisu! Galaxy Bakery, located in the heart of Georgetown Square, is a place we absolutely love. The true highlight here is the cupcakes. The strawberry cupcake is my longtime favorite, but recently I have fallen in love with the banana cream cupcake. The filling inside the banana cream cupcake is so incredibly delicious. My daughter loves this bakery, and I really appreciate that they offer mini sizes. They are perfect for bringing to parties or for a fun little tasting session at home. I have never had anything here that I did not enjoy, and the staff is always so sweet and helpful. Highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for a great sweet treat in Georgetown. read more

We visited Galaxy Bakery, and Coffee House, after lunch on the Square in Georgetown. I was so surprised to see what such an amazing variety of desserts, pastries, cupcakes, different beverages. A large coffee menu as well. The person working was even bringing out fresh croissants when we walked in. My kids all picked out a cupcake. We grabbed a cannoli as well. They're beautifully decorated. The person working was very friendly, he helped us pick out what we were wanting. I saw their store hours and was very surprised that they're open until 9 PM at night. On Fridays and Saturdays they're open until 10 PM. It would nice to get a dinner somewhere, then head over the bakery for a coffee and dessert. I love that they're local. They also offer custom cakes. This place is a gem. read more

I'm a gas station coffee type of girl but my cousin wanted otherwise. I love the fact that Galaxy has a chalkboard with all the coffee options for people that are not coffee intellectuals like myself. The young lady that served me was sweet and made us some awesome coffee. We had already eaten breakfast so we didn't get any food but that place smelled divine. read more

Love Galaxy Bakery! When I have a craving for cookies, Galaxy Cookies is my go to! I find Tiffs Treats too salty for my liking. The oatmeal chocolate chip is my favorite! I love that they use chocolate chunks. I've also tried their key lime and coconut cream pie and I recommend both, as well! Their individual pies are the perfect size. The coconut cream is not overly sweet and the crust is flaky and fresh. The location is in Georgetown Square, but parking is convenient. There is a nice big lot behind the bakery. read more

I love this place! Always good service and great deserts. Normally go whenever I visit the downtown Georgetown area. My all time favorite is the Boston crème croissant. I have been to this bakery a couple times and have enjoyed it! It's right in the heart of Georgetown so you may need to park a bit away and walk over if it's busy. Everyone is always super nice when taking orders and they have some seating outside too. I have gotten their chocolate croissant and their jalapeño croissant. They are HEFTY both in size, fillings, and price. While I do enjoy them, $7 is a lot for a croissant. Also I wish they opened earlier, they are open at 9am and then close I think at 7pm. So don't go here if you are aiming for a super early breakfast. I would comeback but definitely wish there was some kind of deal on saving some money if you were buying multiple croissants read more

If I could rate 10 stars, I absolutely would. I visit Galaxy Bakery at least once a week. This bakery is the real deal, real butter, real flavor!!! I love all of their cupcakes as they are moist, flavorful and have lovely flavor profiles that are more than just "sweet" like grocery stores. The tuxedo cheesecake is dense, creamy and perfectly rich. The cookies are my husband's favorites as are the raspberry scones. My all time most loved item are their sticky buns. They are flaky, and deliciously drizzled with perfect caramelized sugar. All in all Galaxy Bakery is a jewel here in Georgetown! My only complaint is they are not open 7 days a week, lol! read more

I had the pleasure of using Galaxy Bakery for my small 2 tier wedding cake. The cake was beautiful and looked identical to the inspiration photos I provided them. I provided my own fresh flowers and topper for the cake and they were kind enough to help us place them on the day of for no charge. It was the most delicious strawberry cake I have ever eaten, and many of our guests agreed! I am only giving 4 stars because I followed the instructions on the website regarding receiving a cake quote to no avail for 2 and a half weeks. My only resort was showing up to the bakery, which I felt bad about because they were busy. However, the owner was kind and understanding and sat down with us. From there we were promptly able to order and pay for the cake. read more

Came here when we tried to go to our favorite bakery but it was closed. So glad we did! The staff were so friendly, the bakery was super cute, and the baked good ... drooling still! The cannoli was fresh, crunchy, and the filling was smooth and light. Perfectly made. The almond scone was sweet on top but a great balance between the top and the scone itself, which had the right consistency. And the cupcakes - just wow! The tres leches is light and very much like authentic tres leches. The white chocolate raspberry was light, full of flavor, and delicious! I feel like you can't choose a wrong item here!!! read more

I loved going to this place growing up, however it's just lost something. The cupcakes are okay but a lot of them are lacking in flavor an texture. You could get about the same quality at the grocery store. The prices are too high for what you get. The lady working was super sweet and understanding when one of my little guys had a meltdown so that's why 2 stars. If someone else buys I would definitely eat them but I wouldn't buy them myself read more

Noticed that this local bakery has amazing reviews and totally understand why now. We were headed to a dinner party with some friends so I got some cupcakes for them. The gal helping me was super helpful with suggestions, there is sooo many options. I also got 2 cupcakes for me and the hubs, the orange one for him and the strawberry for me. I loved mine, the orange was good too but defo more on the sweeter side. I'll definitely be back to try some other pastries. read more

Looks like a hipster-ish area. I got a white chocolate raspberry mocha and a (piping hot!) fresh croissant on my trip allll the way back to the DF-Dub. The white chocolate mocha was decadent. I couldn't stop thinking about it and thoroughly enjoyed that long drive back home. Its an uncommon flavor, but they do it the best. The interior is pretty big! Looks like an ideal place to WFH or study. read more

The gang was craving a little something sweet so we gave Galaxy Bakery a try. Went to visit during the evening on a fine Saturday night and was a bit sad because the place has been ransacked!! All of the fresh baked best sellers were gone! However this nice lady at the counter just knew that we were coming in that evening and was able to lock up some treats in the secret safe. Treated the gang to some cookies, cupcake, and key lime pie! Mmmhm maybe I'll come early in the morning next time to try their signature galaxy cake! Apparently their cake is made out of astronaut ice cream. If you get a golden ticket in your slice of cake you win a free trip to the moon!! read more

You probably wouldn't expect it when you first walk in, but this little gem has some truly excellent baked goodies! I always stop in here to grab a scone or cannoli when I am in town. I have yet to be disappointed in anything I have tried from here, and while I wouldn't consider myself picky when it comes to food, I am picky about where I get it from. The service here is excellent! The staff is always willing to strike up a conversation while they get your food or coffee ready, and the little patio off the side of the building is a great spot to sit for a minute and savor whatever you buy inside. The coffee is reasonably priced, but better coffee can be had elsewhere, if you come for the sweets you will not leave disappointed! read more

Lovely place! My fiancé and I stopped by so he could work a little before our next appointment. We had a blueberry scone and jalapeno croissant. Both were delicious! During a visit with family in Georgetown & while searching for kolaches nearby, we were led by Yelp to this little spot downtown. Unfortunately there were no kolaches but we did encounter lots of other goodies. We were immediately greeted by gorgeous cakes, various croissants, cupcakes, scones and cookies. Everything looked so delicious and larger than life. It was really hard to choose. We decided on the almond croissants, a blueberry scone, a ham and cheese croissant and a couple of chi chip cookies for our grandsons. The almond croissants were our favorite. SO DELICIOUS!! Perfectly flaky and buttery tasting with a creamy almond filling. The blueberry scone was very flavorful as well. The prices were a bit high - $7-$7.50 for a croissant but it is a small bakery and they were very good. Will definitely stop by on our next visit to Georgetown. read more

I called in to see if this could be fixed (as I really don't want just meat and mashed potatoes, and was told that "if you order the side salad, you don't get the veggies listed on the menu within the dish". I make Julia Child's recipe, and know for a fact it is not served this way. Additionally, I ordered a cinnamon roll and it just wasn't as great as they used to be. However, to be fair, it was better than the beef berguignon. Extremely disappointed, this is the second one of my to go order has been screwed up from Sweet Lemon Kitchen.

Can't help but to notice not all of what they offer isnt genuinely theirs. I've been around a few bakeries and restaurants and I can't help but to notice their cheesecake looks and tastes familiar. I had gotten a slice out of curiosity and still couldn't place WHY it tasted so familiar but then my friend pointed out that we had the exact one at a gathering when we went to the Cheesecake Factory. I was so shocked because she was right!!! It's a shame because the place was cute but it makes me wonder what else they're pretending is theirs and who else they are ripping off by selling their product and marking it as theirs.... I would now like to add to my review by adding the fact that the business owner has terrible customer relation skills and is instead going to attack and call me names, instead of resolving the issue peacefully and simply explaining the situation. And purveyors? As in an organization that provides and supplies food? Sysco is a purveyor. Restaurant Depot is a purveyor. I'm sure a chain restaurant that holds their cheesecake to a high standard is not a supplier nor would they ever consider supplying to another bakery, a form of competition. And this may I add, is not the first time I've seen Ike put blame onto the customer (the very people keeping his business alive and feeding his family). Absolutely will NOT be recommending this place to a single person I know. Stay away and save yourself from the poor customer service and false advertising. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping by Galaxy Bakery and I couldn't be more grateful for their amazing gluten-free cupcakes! As someone with a child with a gluten sensitivity, it can be tough to find delicious baked goods that we can indulge in. But at Galaxy Bakery, the strawberry cupcake blew me away with its moist texture and perfectly sweet flavor. I couldn't believe it was gluten-free! I also had to try the regular Boston crème croissant and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The amount of creamy filling inside was generous and simply divine. The pastry itself was flaky and buttery, making for the perfect treat to enjoy alongside my cupcake. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Galaxy Bakery and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with dietary restrictions. Their cupcakes...Yummy and a must try for sure, cute looking too. Their bakery sets back 1/2 a block from the Historic Georgetown Square and makes you feel you step back in time. Since their cupcakes are great, I placed an order for a birthday cake. When they brought it out I was NOT disappointed. It was better than I hoped for and could not wait to show it off to my guests. I gladly paid the price, but I did wonder "how will this cake taste, will it be as good as their cupcakes?" The flavor was GREAT. It was a heavy cake, but so moist and very tasty! We ordered a tray of mini cupcakes to bring to a little gathering. There were a variety in there and they were ALL delicious. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is price. Are the cupcakes good? Yes. Are they worth an arm and a leg? Not really. But if you need a plate of treats and don't have time to make them yourself, Galaxy is a good bet. read more

Consumer loyalty is earned not just from service, but trust built from expectation the cash we're spending is for something of equal value. Lately, that measure of standard has not been met which is sad, considering this is such a cool little Cafe at which to enjoy one of the #SweetLemonKitchen's famous #CinnamonRolls, #FruitScones, &/or #ChickenSalad sandwiches. Losing $13-22 per person per visit isn't good business, & hope you will make the decision to rectify this in the future: If you're going to sell 'day old' bakery, then give the consumer the option to pay 'half price' for the old item or full price for 'fresh baked'... which would be equitable & ensure trustworthiness, #imho ;)
