We had a delicious social dinner there last night! I got the mushroom broth which was a little bit salty but very delicious and a lovely assortment of meat! There was a nice assortment of meats and vegetables and fish for both barbecue and soup, and then some sushi and lots of ingredients for sauce no choice but to leave extremely stuffed. Service is really fast. You order with a tablet which is very convenient. There was a little mix-up where we got a million dumplings by accident but they were very understanding and took them back. Very clean and organized. Lots of options for veggies, noodles, seafood and meats. You can get a free boba by doing a review and showing the waiter. The soup itself was a little under seasoned so I had to add some salt, but the green pepper soup was the perfect amount of spice. It's a more unique soup base as well because other hotpot places usually do just the Szechuan soup, mushroom soup, bone broth, or tomato soup options. It's nice to have a decent hotpot places in the north burbs :) price is reasonable for AYCE sushi and hotpot. There are certain meats and dishes that are only offered at dinner. Some unique options they offered that I haven't seen at other hotpot places are frog legs, tripe, beef stomach, and mussels. Definitely give this place a visit! read more

This was my first time having hotpot that wasn't at my parents or family friend's house. It was so fun and delicious! 5 of us went on a Thursday night at 7:15 with no reservations because it was a last minute decision to not cook. They were able to accommodate us without a problem. Tables were filled but luckily they had one table of 6 that just left, Yay for us! We were quickly seated after they cleaned and set the table. Our friends had been there before and they recommended Galaxy Hotpot. This place is clean and everything in the sides bar was so fresh! We each ordered our own pot of broth. Hubs and I went with mushroom each, another went with Chinese herbal, and finally tomato. They were out of Thai Tom Yum and our server was very apologetic. We had a variety of meats and goodies like prime brisket, lamb, pork, beef belly, octopus, mussels, headless shrimp, fried dumplings, cuttlefish balls, mushrooms. Everything was so good! I made my own dipping sauce, added a variety of mushrooms like shiitake, oyster, and enoki, tofu and rice cakes for some extra yum. Our food came out quickly and our server was so sweet helping us with setting the temp & suggestions. We left full and happy. The only downside is that there were mistakes in the proteins that came out and sometimes it took a while to get the proteins. Maybe next time we will order a little more each time our server drops off something or at the beginning. Nonetheless, we really enjoyed our meal. The dessert was ok. The cookie wasn't too bad, there was a filling inside that made it slightly sweetened. There was only one tiny square of cake left but it was still moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. I tried the taro pudding and the mango pudding which wasn't a pudding, more like a beverage because it was watery. The mango was decent. The taro didn't taste like anything so maybe it just wasn't enough flavoring? Overall this was a fun and tasty dinner. Great for small groups. It might be good with kids too but you will definitely have to keep an eye on younger kids because of the hot broth in the hot pan and heading plate. When we arrived, we stood at the host desk for a good while before anyone said hi nor acknowledged us. It seems like they were short staffed, but it really felt unwelcoming. We had to get their attention to ask to be seated since there was a sign to "wait to be seated." The restaurant wasn't busy and there were only a few other tables at the restaurant. Once we sat down, I appreciated the efforts that the waitress made to explain the dining experience to my friends who haven't been there before. The veggie, sauce, dessert bar seemed fresh. From the kitchen, the portions come out very small. 1 order of fish balls is just 3 balls lol. So, be prepared to order multiple orders of the same thing. My family has been there numerous times before so they were pros on what to do and how to do it. They were very helpful too. My family and I ended up ordering hot pot and sushi. My dad and I are hot and spicy lovers so the Tom yum broth was right up our alley. My mom, I believe ended up ordering the mushroom broth which she loved. You then pick from what seemed like an endless amount of toppings ranging from jumbo shrimp, quail eggs, tteokbokki, tofu and many others. THEN! You can go to this buffet of veggies that you can add to your broth so you can pick up from toppings like nappa cabbage, lotus root and then they have various noodles you can add as well like ramen and udon. Each table has a table top burner which then they put your requested pot of broth on and when boiling, you can add your toppings. I legit was in food heaven so besides the broth, I wish I could post everything else I added but I honestly can't remember. Overall, everything was super super yummy. Everything was fresh and the broth was to die for. J.C kept to her rounds and continued to fill up our broth as needed so we could keep ordering what we wanted and filling our bowls (and stomach). As I had discussed earlier, we did order sushi and I can't remember the names of each roll we ordered but I do remember the galaxy roll and that alongside everything else was fantastic. I love a good hotpot, but I really don't recommend coming here with a large party. We booked reservations a month in advance and when we checked the week of, they didn't have it booked. Thankfully we were able to book them again. We were seated in the very back at a shared table and it was hard to get in and out for toppings. I would expect a private table for a birthday party booked well in advance. Everyone ordered their proteins, sushi, and sides off the menu. When it was brought to the table, it was put down anywhere with no description so we struggled to figure out who got what. It was very chaotic. You can order off the dinner only menu at lunch you will just have to pay dinner price. They have nice veggie , noodle and sauce buffet to pick out extra ingredients for your hot pot. There is a $10 charge for over ordering and not eating meat/seafood that was requested. Sushi is fine and fresh. If you enjoy sushi and hot pot you would not be disappointed. So for clarification, I should say that this is the only place I've had Hotpot. That said I can't compare it to a similar place but I can say that this is a fantastic meal and an enjoyable experience! The first thing to note is you can get a free milk tea with a yelp check in! It was very tasty so don't miss out. The ambiance is nice enough and the table set up is smart. You get 1 broth per person but can order extras if you want. I've tried all the base flavors here and for me the original is the best. It imparts just the right spice and flavor into your food! This was a lunch visit, which is cheaper but comes with less options to choose from. A good middle ground. I do love the beef tongue from the dinner menu though. After placing an order for some beef belly and lamb, as well as some fried gyoza, we headed to the salad bar to get our veggies and some noodles. I like the sauce bar, it can be fun to customize, but we're on the clock and I don't always want to spend time here. Some pre-made sauce mixes could be a nice addition. When you do make your sauce, I like the pungent garlic and soy mix. Our meats came out quickly and we started preparing our food. Be warned, this can get messy. There will be splashing! Everything is great here and I found the service to be pretty attentive and quick. This was another great visit here! Again, I can't compare, but this seems like a top notch experience to me. Casual place. Waitress was wearing slippers (literally Ugg slippers) which threw me off after having worked in food service for a decade. But that's probably fine, other customers were in their pajamas so it's definitely a casual-vibe place. Ordered several items. The sashimi salad came dry (no dressing) and she seemed surprised when I asked for dressing; apparently dry salads are the norm. The soup was not good. The spicy tuna roll was fluffed with tempura flakes giving it a chewy texture. This is a "hack" to fill guests up faster where a traditional sushi restaurant will serve you fresh tuna mixed with spicy mayo. Eel on Chicago Roll had a special bony crunch to it. Not unheard of for sushi, but unexpected. As an out-of-town guest; this isn't in my normal path. If I was a local though, there are probably better options. read more

We came during lunch hours on a Thursday. The lunch menu includes all of the basic meats and sushi rolls that we wanted. If you want the premium meats and sushi rolls, you need to come during dinner hours. The lunch menu is a great value. The restaurant was not busy and the service was great. Our soups and meats were out to the table within two minutes of ordering. The food was all fresh and tasty. The veggie and extra bar was fully stocked. In this area of the suburbs, hot pot is somewhat difficult to find so I am glad that Galaxy Hotpot offers delicious food at a reasonable price, with the addition of sushi as well. Though there used to be an option to do AYCE sushi or hotpot, or both for an upcharge -- I'm glad that they raised the price slightly but include sushi standard in the AYCE. This is better than any appetizers that you'll find at an AYCE and the fish to rice ratio is super reasonable. Parking here isn't super difficult most of the time as this area normally isn't crazy busy. Service was exceptional during my last lunch meal -- with plates cleared quickly, hot items / sushi served quickly, a cart full of raw ingredients circling by normally, and the waitress explaining different aspects of the meal throughout the experience. For hotpot, there is a buffet of different vegetable options to choose from as well as shrimp balls. The veggies were quite fresh and there was a good variety of different leafy vegetables, root vegetables, noodles, and mushrooms. Unlike some other hot pot spots, you can grab these without having to ask the wait staff to bring these out. The number of hot appetizers available is a bit limited compared to spots like Happy Lamb, but the sushi option more than makes up for this. I did like the setup with lots of different soup base options and individual pots per person so we didn't need to crowd food inside each individual pot for sharing. The meat quality was pretty good and I liked how these were brought out in smaller portions to make it easy to try a variety of items (some spots will give enormous amounts of the same meat at once, making it difficult to sample items). I overall enjoyed the different flavors of everything I tried and in particular like the dumpling and meat/seafood options. The spicy broths like Tom Yum and Szechuan are not too spicy -- even for those with a lower spice tolerance. The sushi here is pretty solid, better than average for an all-you-can-eat but not as good as AYCE sushi-only spots like Sushi Grove and Sushi Para. The vegetables in here are fresh and the fish provided is pretty generous. I do find that the rolls could use a bit more sauce to them as the flavor is pretty mild. I do like the frying here though, a bit lighter and crisp than competitors nearby. That makes the deep fried rolls feel a bit healthier and less crunchy, which I prefer. I also like the restraint in the amount of cream cheese used, just enough to add flavor but not too much where it overpowers the roll. With that said, as an add-on to the hot pot experience, the offering is exceptional for what you're paying -- as this is fully plated and prepared like any full price sushi elsewhere. Overall, your best choice for hot pot in the area. The large dining rooms help with giving the dinner a more casual experience and the mix of both hot pot and sushi ensures that a wide variety of cravings will be satisfied. read more

Hotpot is perfect for a chilly weather. The service is great! No issues with parking. Now for the food. My favorite broth is the Original which has just a kick of spicy in it. There were 2 of us and we each got our own bowl. So we had the Original and Tomato broth. The quality of meat is good. I actually like that they bring out few sfuff at a time to make sure it doesnt go to waste. The veggies are buffet market table style so you can just go to the buffet station and grab what you want. For the suburbs, hot pot at this place is not bad. What I like is the large variety of appetizers, veggie, fruit, and sauce buffet bar which is similar to the AYCE in the city. The meat quality is ok here but where are you going to find better in the area other than making it yourself at home? Broth flavor is not as intense as the ones in Chicago, but that's probably good because of less sodium. This is a fun spot for big gathering and kids because they can choose what they want to eat and participate in the cooking. Service is friendly, but occasionally need to flag down their attention to order more meats before the 2 hour limit is up. Galaxy Hotpot & Sushi is out of this world delicious. We opted for the all you can eat hotpot, although you can also do sushi, for an additional $10. When it comes to hotpot, it's all about that base (no treble) according to Meghan Trainor, and I agree. You have a choice of five bases : 1. Original 2. Tomato 3. Mushroom 4. Chinese herbal 5. Thai tom yum 6. Szechuan Since we rolled 7-deep, we went with one of each. My least favorite was the tomato, the best was the Szechuan. I'm not a super spicy person, and I was able to handle the heat. We got all sorts of meat, including lamb, scallops, brisket, amongst other things, and they were all great. They have a sauce bar where there are all sorts to choose from, many veggies, and desserts. For the sauce, I usually go with a sesame sauce base, garlic, and lots of scallions. The veggies were good too. The strawberry custard was great. Service was fantastic. Overall, a great dining experience. BATHROOM REVIEW: There are two bathrooms. One located on each side of the dining area (the restaurant is in a U-shape). The bathrooms are single-people bathrooms. Inside, it was surprisingly clean. Everything was in working order. Godzilla roll was average, but well made. Shrimp dumplings were pretty bland and stuck to the paper bad, but were saved by the chili sauce. Seaweed salad, although complimentary, was not very good. Full of flavor, but had the texture of something that had been in a fridge for several days. I ordered pickup, but the space looked clean and inviting. Front desk was prompt and pleasant. Returned to galaxy hot pot. Was wonderful. I tried the sushi for the first time it was delicious. They served some really nice tuna lived the ratio . I also tried the Californian roll perfect fresh avocado, or salmon and cream cheese. My favorite was the spicy Tom Yum stock. I really enjoyed the Lotus for it the churro, the Ramen, excellent potstickers, and the kombucha Japanese squash. I loved the kelp and the wood ear mushrooms . The condiment bar was wonderful, but had a big array of different sauces and vinegar, fresh garlic jalapeño a variety of hot sauces, peanut sauce, sesame sauce, sesame seeds, fresh cilantro, jalapeño you just use your imagination and go to town. Lots of good flavors. This is my third event I've been to. I really enjoyed it Keisha who is our community manager really goes all out and finds wonderful places to try. We did end up trying a free maki roll that comes with Yelp check-in! It was very tasty but also very filling. I'd suggest to stick to one or the other instead of trying to do both. It's so much food! Your mission if you choose to accept it is this: to enjoy various meats, vegs, shrooms and noodles cooked in a broth of your choosing. I selected Original (pungent mix of herbs and spices) while my companion selected Mushroom (milder). The restaurant is a modern space with cooktops on the table. It's an AYCE price of $29.99 for adults with $9.99 extra for AYCE sushi. If you check in on Yelp you get a free maki. With six different broths, meats from prime Beef to pork to chicken to octopus and a buffet of fresh vegs, greens and sauce gar, the combinations are Infinite. Our service was stellar and cheerful. We walked in without reservations one evening (reservations taken only for large parties on Yelp) and were seated immediately. There was a large party in the back room and several other groups. This is out-of-this-world fun. Prices are reasonable for AYCE and our orders came out quickly. Warning: clean your plate -- you are warned that you will be charged if you leave lots of food uneaten. (Eat! Eat!) I did not see wagyu on the menu as one reviewer mentioned. I didn't see pork belly on the menu although pork is an option. This is a solid choice for some hot pot action. Recently opened nearby, my husband and I decided to grab lunch here on Sunday. Unlimited hot pot and sushi, how can you say no to that? The restaurant is located in a strip, but while driving on Milwaukee if you're not looking for it, you might miss it. There is plenty of parking all around. When we arrived, we were immediately sat by the hostess. There were a few different table sizes some for 8, 6, 4 and of course 2, but they also have a bar counter where you can dine by yourself if you wanted! Once we were sat the hostess gave us the information of the menu and what was available for the day. Our waiter then came over to take our drink orders and offered to get some things going for us. Keep in mind on Sundays it is the dinner price all day, and to add AYCE sushi it's an additional $10pp. We decided to share the original and the tomato based broth, and ordered a variety of protein, and vegetables alone with some nigiri. The hot pot stuff came out fairly quickly, while the sushi rolls did take a few minutes or so. The original broth has a light kick to it which ended up being my favorite of the 2. The tomato one is a brothy version of a tomato soup, which was also delicious and flavorful not my favorite of the 2. You also have the ability to go to the sauce bar to make your own dipping sauces. I made one of my own, before I noticed the menu on the screen of their different mixing options. The Taiwanese bbq ended up being my favorite! I also enjoyed a milk tea with boba which was good. My only feedback is that I wish we were told cooking times & what each item was when delivered rather than a drop off. Our waitress was attentive and other servers helpful too, checking on us during our stay. It's all you can eat sushi and hot pot. We did not try the sushi all we had was hot pot. So glad this place opened close by. AYCE hotpot & sushi. Nice interior & service. I enjoyed the sushi & hotpot options like scallops, lamb & beef. You may want to pick the first soup base offered on the menu, its good, maybe called green pepper. The only thing I disliked was a sushi roll we ordered that had tempura shrimp. Tempura was awful and just a really bad roll. Stick with the sashimi, it does come with 2 artificial crab rolls & cucumber. They have dim sum style chicken feet in the buffet area if you are into that. I did not try any so I can't comment. Nigiri was also very good. Found out about this new hotpot place through yelp and I like how that it was close to home. Stop by on a Saturday night for dinner. $29.99/person AYCE! Not too bad. It wasn't super busy for a Saturday night but we were able to be seated right away. We opt for 2 different broths-the original and the Chinese herbal. Both were very good. Then we were able to order buffet meats, veggies and noodles. On the other end of the restaurant, was all the sauces you can combine to have with your hotpot. First time trying this place! We got here on friday at 11am just when they opened. Its quite spacious and had good music playing. We were seated right away and our server came to help us order and get things started. We started with a good amount of protein and veggies and continued to order and eat till we were full. I got their original which I thought was good for the broth. My friends got the spicy broth which they also seemed to enjoy. I'd definitely want to go back to try a few more of the broths in the future since they all sounded really good. The meat and veggies were all very good quality and tasted really good. They had a good selection of sauce options and also dessert as well. I would definitely recommend this place for their hot pot and their amazing service. Driving past this spot for a while and finally had a chance to try it out. We were greeted very warmly and got a spot right near the sauces. Our sever explained how everything worked and answered all of our questions. Hot apps were very crispy and fresh. Food came out very quickly for our hot pots, the only downside was that it was a bit of a wait for get the attention of our services to order more. My husband enjoyed the sushi here a lot! Service was very attentive. Different people helped refill our waters and presented the foods. Food was very fulfilling. We had a hard time finding the right sauces for our kids. They were very generous by letting us sample the original base. My kids ended up choosing the tomato base. I liked the Tom yum soup and it definitely had a kick to it. My husband chose the mushroom. All very happy with the taste. Wish there were more beef options. My kids are not adventurous and did not want to try the other items such as frog legs. :) Ambiance was perfect level of music. Everything was amazing here! Despite what the reviews say, the servers are extremely nice, encourage you to order as much as you want, and continuously check in on you. Also, the ambiance was very cozy and the place is super clean. We got the Tom Yom broth and Mushroom broth, both were excellent. The sushi is also really good. We went for lunch and there are a number of proteins you can't ordered during lunch otherwise you'll have to paid for the dinner price! There were enough selection of proteins for lunch! The veggie bar had a nice selection and the sauce bar was really good! We order tomato, mushroom and original as our broth! I really like the mushroom one, the original is a little bit spicy for me!
