It is a very beautiful salon, the chandeliers and lightings are gorgeous. They also have adult beverages serve on cute platters. Inexpensive too. I can't talk about the taste because I haven't indulge in any. Parking: Can be crazy. There is a parking lot however it gets pretty crowded, there is also overflow parking adjacent it. Sometimes there's a "guard" directing customers! Room for improvement: would like more transparent on price for nails as none is listed and I have been quoted different prices and had to literally pull my hands away from the tech to discuss price rather than "waiting to see." I had a really terrible experience today for a pedicure. The person who did my pedicure thinned my toenails out so badly with the drill my toe nails were burning. Even after 3-4 coats of gel polish my nails remain flexible and soft hours later. I requested the paraffin pedicure and didn't even get all the steps for my pedicure. I did not receive the oil or pain relieving cream massage. The owner came over and gave me 10% off which is nothing more than the discount you text me every month. Then she walked away disrespectful and dismissive not even apologizing for my experience. I remained calm. First, the place is filthy. should have left before it started. I requested a dip pedicure and manicure with French tips on both. I should have just done it myself. my nails are uneven, she used gel instead of powder, the gel is already chipping on the same day of service and she didn't even give me the French tips. I literally gave up on nail shops for years, because of the lack of customer service, cleanliness and overall satisfaction with the services. well, one of my girlfriends goes here and her nails are always amazing. But I guess you have to spend at least $100 on your nails to get a quality service. During my time, apparently they gave me a new nail tech. My nails were misshapen and uneven. And he KEPT HURTING ME WITH THE FILE. I'm like man come on now. I practically had to beg this man to fix my thumb nail when it was visibly and noticeably shorter than the other one!!!!! so now it's time to polish. He throws the gel polish on my nails and after he's finished I immediately demand someone else to fix my nails. The other techs knew they looked like trash because they sat me right back down another nail tech to fixed his mistake. They were OKAY, not great, after the nail tech fixed it. At this point I had been in the shop for 2 HOURS SO I WAS JUST READY TO GO. My nails lasted about 9 days before 2 nails came completely off. I called up to the shop and a man told me that I could come up and get my nails fixed. I'm like Ok cool. When I arrived, the lady at the front desk I think her name is Zoey, told me that they only fix nails after three days. What?!? So you mean to tell me a $50 full set is only supposed to last me a week and a half?!!!? I could have filled up my gas tank with that Money! Then she tells me it's only $7 to fix 2 nails. Absolutely love this nail salon! It's about a 25 minute drive for me but worth it every time. The first time I went Tom did my nails and did a fantastic job. Every time since then, I have had different nail techs and each one has also done a great job and I leave so happy every time. I especially love that they focus on making the nail shape correct, since I have gone other places were the acrylic would be way to thick and make my fingers look ridiculous. There aren't many nice looking salons in the North County area, so I was very excited to try Galaxy Nail Bar out. When I came in, I was greeted right away with a smile, of which I appreciated. The salon was rather busy, but the service was still great. The pedicurist practice great hygiene and the chairs were lovely. My pedicurist made an effort to talk to me and make sure that I was comfortable. They offer complimentary drinks, which makes the experience ever more enjoyable. The reason I have the salon 4 out of 5 stars (I would give 4.5 if I could) was because of my manicurist. I enjoyed the work that she did on me, but I felt as if she did not care. I decided to give myself some time before writing this review because I wanted to be sure it would be not only professional, but helpful. I tend to overlook reviews that are unnecessarily snarky or sarcastic; this won't be that. I went to Galaxy on 2/18/2020 to have them add a design to two ring fingers. A really simple design. This is important. Because I think part of my feelings about this interaction is tied to what I was asking for. Before coming to Galaxy for my design, I went to April Nails just down the street a little further on Lindbergh. I asked the April tech for clear nails but on two of the fingers, I wanted 3 stripes - red, black, and green. I showed him a picture I had googled. It's one that if you looked up "red, black, and green nails" right now, it will pop up looking like something someone did in their house. It is a pic of a hand holding a bottle of green nail polish bottle with 3 colored stripes on their nails. For those who do not recognize those colors or the significance, those are the colors or the pan-African flag and it's Black History Month. I wanted to celebrate my heritage on my nails and do a call-in-response with those who might see me and know I saw them as well. The tech at April Nails told me they don't do designs even though designs is listed as a service on their scrolling advertisement. I know this because I sat and watched it before I left. When he "couldn't" do it, I decided to go to Galaxy Nailbar. It was just two nails, I had been there before, and knew someone there would at least try unlike the man at April who simply said, "No." While at Galaxy, I sat and looked through the samples to find the right green and red. An older Black lady approached the check out desk wearing a brilliant red on her toes that seemed just right for my celebration. When I asked her the shade, she said she did not know and inquired with the lady behind the desk (gray jacket, black elbow patches, really white face makeup). Gray Jacket told her that the woman who had done her toes would be doing my design and would know the shade. When the older Black lady sweetly persisted that the question was for me, Gray Jacket repeated, this time more sternly, to wait for the nail tech and for me to wait my turn. She would know. That interaction was not a nice one. The older lady and I let it go and exchanged pleasantries as she went on her way. When it was my turn, I was told to sit at station 4. When I sat down with the samples, I showed 4 the design, and asked about the red as I had been told to do repeatedly just moments before. When I asked 4 to assist me with choosing the color and finding the red, she told me she did not know what color it was. I began to explain the conversation between Gray Jacket, the older Black lady, and myself just moments before but this appeared to irritate her. I explained I did not know the shade again and to please ask Gray Jacket. In non-English, she asked Gray Jacket. After a few words, she turned, towering over me, and said Gray Jacket said she did not know [what I was talking about]. I was confused, shocked, and a little embarrassed as 4 began to make a scene in the salon. I responded by trying to explain again and ask for help but 4, instead of helping, stood up in the middle of the salon and began screeching at me, "WHY ARE YOU BEING SO DIFFICULT?!" She berated me right there in front of everyone. Customers and coworkers. She then proceeded to walk to the back of the shop and loudly walk back and forth, going off in non-English. It was awful and embarrassing. And worse of all, no one spoke up. No one who worked there stepped in to relieve her or remove her from the situation. No one corrected her. No one chastised her. No one did anything. So I sat there stunned. Embarrassed. And knowing that I would never step foot in this place again. Resenting that I went against my judgement and went there anyway for the design when the whole reason I went to April Nails to begin with was because the quality of Galaxy has decreased drastically for me. I was forced to receive service from her AFTER she abused me publicly like that. I sat silently, barely interacting the rest of the time, giving correction only on the order of the flag - red on the right first, then black, Then green. The green of the flag was too dark and blended into the black. But 4 was so mean and terrible to experience the entire time, I gave in so that I could leave without a worse situation on my hands. I watch enough of the news to know better as a Black woman to protest in that kind of situation. I sat there, wondering to myself if she would have done that if she was in Chesterfield. I paid the $6 with a $20 bill. I left no tip. I always tip. I will never come back. I will always share my experience. If you're reading this, I hope it was helpful. read more

I am very dissatisfied with the service provided at Galaxy Nail Bar. My nails have lines in them from where my nails grew out with the gel. I filed down some to make them look better but the lines could still be seen. So far all but one nail on each hand has cracked on the sides or broke off. On the other hand, all my nails have broken off. The young lady had told me the gel would protect my nails. I asked that they redo my nails but they kept telling me that they don't guarantee regular manicures. They would charge me $7 to redo. That was unacceptable because their tech damaged my nails and I paid $42 last Saturday for nail service where the polish lasted about 3 days. I was NOT disappointed! The shop is beautifully decorated with more than a dozen nail stations and pedicure chairs. I was greeted as soon as I came in the door and given a list of services to pick from. I decided on the Fresh Tropical Fruit Pedicure to start off. My technician was gentle and took her time to make sure I had the full experience. Because of the arthritis in my feet pedicures are not always enjoyable for me even though they are very necessary. I had a really great experience. I'd kinda given up on nail salons since I'm hardly ever satisfied. I'd seen a friend nails and i loved the shape and everything thing about them. So I went and asked for Daniel. He was finishing up a client but i was next. It was a clean a nice place which is a huge bonus to me!! Everyone was really nice. Daniel took a 5 min break and brought me something to drink while I waited. I was impressed. He was nice the whole time. My nails are absolutely amazing. My pinky nail is a little bit weird from a childhood accident and Susan did an amazing job of covering my whole nail. This is the most satisfied I've been with a nail experience in a while to be honest. However, my rating isn't a 5 because there were zero social distancing measures taken. The capacity for the building was hit and then some I'm sure. Mask were worn which is great but just keep in mind you are in close quarters to a bunch of people. New business in Florissant. They have some work to do. I went to get a gel manicure. A very nice lady did my manicure, but she was brand new and my gel manicure looked like a regular polish job. Two days later, it started to peel. I went back 5 days later, the owner fixed the problem, but was very skeptical and was lecturing me that I should have called immediately when it happened. Well, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Additionally, the inside is very pretty, but they were playing strange music videos that weren't light on profanity. Some were in another language. Is this the type of atmosphere your customers are looking for? I probably won't be back...there are better places in Florissant for my money.
