First time going with my family, our server was super helpful and giving us great service even with my little ones being fussy cuase they were super hungry . My wife loves Korean bbq and this was a bonus too cuase she also loves Korean soups! U get one big bowl of Korean soup with the AYCE menu. The veggies that comes with the menu are super fresh and crispy! We tried all the meat selections and my favourite one is the marinated short rib. Saw an Instagram advertisement promoting their AYCE for $35 so we made the trek to Coquitlam. I did read several Yelp reviews and noted the place is quite small and gets quite busy. The AYCE promotion was for the month of October, walk ins only and a maximum of 90 minutes dining time. With all that information, we arrived around 16:45 on a Saturday and only had a 5 minute wait. The patrons arriving after us had 90+ minute waits. The AYCE included soup (four options), rice, banchan (side dishes), marinated rib finger (beef), marinated short rib (pork) and pork belly. The cuts of the meats were great and loved the marbling on the beef and the thickness of the pork belly. We ended up ordering each of the three meats, 3 X and came away very full and satisfied. The service was great and they look away the empty trays and replaced with full trays of meats as requested. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend this location for this promotion as it is great value AYCE Korean Bbq. TIP: As this promotion does not allow reservations, and the promotion is very popular...if you come after 16:45, you can expect long waits. Get there early. read more

My parents and I made the trek to Koreatown in PoCo and Galbi KBBQ was our first stop. We made it in time to take advantage of their lunch special (2 pork meats, banchan and kimchi stew) and added an order of garlic beef fingers...just the right amount of food for the 3 of us. The staff was kind, accommodating and fast! The quality of meats and banchan was great..only complaint is that unlike other Korean spots I eat at ...at Galbi they have limited options and don't do refills But other than that...this place is definitely a great spot to try and get your meat sweats on. read more

We stopped by for Korean BBQ and this was the best service I have enjoyed in a long time. Our server was very attentive and checked in on us regularly. She even offered to top up garlic slices. The food itself was delicious. We enjoyed three different cuts of meat - two beef and one pork. There were extra lettuce leaves dropped off when we asked for them. The banchan (side dishes) were alright. I liked the acidity of the pickled radish, onions and kimchi to balance the heaviness of the grilled meat. The soy bean soup was on the spicy side. The ambience was lively. There was a steady stream of customers on a weekday evening. The restaurant is on the smaller side so I think they are great for smaller groups. I plan to return to this restaurant with family after enjoying this restaurant so much with my friend. read more

Came here on a Thursday evening and thankfully we came early! The place filled up pretty quickly around 7pm. We ordered the fresh beef ribs, pork jowl, and pork belly with skin on (thick cut). Prices are reasonable for the quality of meat and quantity (each portion is by weight). I found the soybean paste soup very salty, but once diluted it was quite tasty! Enjoyed the salad and sides, but they charge for extra side dishes and restrict you to 3 pieces of romaine lettuce per meat order (which seems a bit stingy for a small side item). There was also dirt on the lettuce, which they washed off and returned to us... Rice is ordered on the side for $2 each. Overall a clean storefront with friendly staff, fresh quality ingredients, and a fun no-frills kbbq experience! We spent around $100 for 3 people. read more

absolutely not worth it, 45 bucks for 180grams of beef was just way to expansive, the fact that two servings had to be made at the same time, and the server miss judging the portion when recommending was just disrespectful to the customers. I don't think coquitlam yet needs this kind of high expensive food, considering the ambiance was just very basic, the pricing has no reason to be this high at all. The restaurant is small but busy, and can be filled up very quickly. Minimum order of 2 BBQ items required on the menu. We have got: * Fresh rib finger *limited quantity/ 200g $22: beef rib finger tastes fresh and juicy. I love the texture and the balance of fat with lean meat. After grilled the meat is juicy but chewy in a good way. * Fresh pork jowl 200g $19: Fresh and nice thickness of the pork jowl. The meat is springy and flavourful. We made a reservation for 7 pm (2 days in advance over the phone) but unfortunately we were super hungry and starving at 8 pm. We could not wait any longer for our table. We were a table of 6 people. The restaurant is new and the place is very small. I believe the owners has never opened or ran a restaurant before and we can see that it has a high chance of failing. The food does smell really good when we opened the door to go in and out. We showed up at 6:40 pm. At 6:55 pm, we were asked if we can sit at two separate tables. Why would we make a reservation for 6 people to find out that we will be sitting at 2 separate tables? They do have 2 long tables that can accommodate up to 8 people but when we arrived they were occupied. The server than told us (at 7 pm) that one of the long table is finishing up and said it would be quick. We then later found out at 8 pm they were no where close to finishing up. At 8 pm, we saw dishes still showing up at that table. The long table that was occupied only had 4 people and 2 other people sitting (the two parties do not know each other). The two people party left but the 4 people just started getting their food. We confronted the server telling him that we have been waiting for over an hour and that the table that he said were finishing up should have been done but food are still coming. He said they didn't place any new orders in and those were the original orders. He then told us he has no control on how fast the kitchen brings the food out. He then said that table sat down at 6 pm and should be finishing up. We have noticed that the turnover of the tables are really slow. The server admits that there is no time limit and usually people sit for 3 to 4 hours. We ended up leaving. We do not believe that the table that we are waiting for will be done by 9 pm. Also note that Galbi doesn't follow Social Distancing and there is a chance that you will be sitting with a party at a long table that you do not know beside each other (please see photo). We ended up going to Mr. Mike. We were not the only one that left without being seated. If you want to try this restaurant it is suggested to make a reservation and show up at 5 pm and then take your sweet time and eat for 3 to 4 hours. This is what everyone is doing. They are bound to fail with a turnover max 2X. To accommodate their failure they open till 11 pm. So 5:30 to 9 pm and 9 pm to midnight (with 11 pm last call). Also customer service is not great here but because this is an Asian restaurant I do not expect great service so I don't hold it against them. I have also noticed those who have finished eating at the restaurants also refuses to get up. With their triple net, food and salary expenses (3 servers, 1 or 2 kitchen staffs), turnover table 2X max per day will not be profitable. But what is bad is that they don't follow social distancing protocols. No partitioning or pixie glass between two parties that don't know each other. and the tables that are separated are not that far apart. read more

Did anyone else eat the side salad on Dec 28th 2021 evening? I am not 100% if this is the cause but I believe the salad caused severe stomach pain and vomiting after eating here. Horrible and disgusting. There was hair in our food and after we told them they decided that taking the rice of our bill was the best choice to.... Do not understand. Gave us 5% only because we asked and told them that I was having vomiting reflexes... did not make any difference.
