Comes with kimchi stew
Carmen R.

My parents and I made the trek to Koreatown in PoCo and Galbi KBBQ was our first stop. We made it in time to take advantage of their lunch special (2 pork meats, banchan and kimchi stew) and added an order of garlic beef fingers...just the right amount of food for the 3 of us. The staff was kind, accommodating and fast! The quality of meats and banchan was great..only complaint is that unlike other Korean spots I eat at ...at Galbi they have limited options and don't do refills But other than that...this place is definitely a great spot to try and get your meat sweats on.

We stopped by for Korean BBQ and this was the best service I have enjoyed in a long time. Our server was very attentive and checked in on us regularly. She even offered to top up garlic slices. The food itself was delicious. We enjoyed three different cuts of meat - two beef and one pork. There were extra lettuce leaves dropped off when we asked for them. The banchan (side dishes) were alright. I liked the acidity of the pickled radish, onions and kimchi to balance the heaviness of the grilled meat. The soy bean soup was on the spicy side. The ambience was lively. There was a steady stream of customers on a weekday evening. The restaurant is on the smaller side so I think they are great for smaller groups. I plan to return to this restaurant with family after enjoying this restaurant so much with my friend.

Fresh beef ribs and pork jowl

Came here on a Thursday evening and thankfully we came early! The place filled up pretty quickly around 7pm. We ordered the fresh beef ribs, pork jowl, and pork belly with skin on (thick cut). Prices are reasonable for the quality of meat and quantity (each portion is by weight). I found the soybean paste soup very salty, but once diluted it was quite tasty! Enjoyed the salad and sides, but they charge for extra side dishes and restrict you to 3 pieces of romaine lettuce per meat order (which seems a bit stingy for a small side item). There was also dirt on the lettuce, which they washed off and returned to us... Rice is ordered on the side for $2 each. Overall a clean storefront with friendly staff, fresh quality ingredients, and a fun no-frills kbbq experience! We spent around $100 for 3 people.

I had dinner here while visiting my family from Los Angeles. I've been to so many different K BBQ in L.A and this one definite had a good quality of meat. I really liked their salad dressing and their bean paste stew. Loved the service and ambiance.

New Korean self-grill BBQ restaurant near Coquitlam center. This bbq restaurant mainly serves bbq meat with a little bit of noodle items. The restaurant is small but busy, and can be filled up very quickly. Minimum order of 2 BBQ items required on the menu. We have got: * Fresh rib finger *limited quantity/ 200g $22: beef rib finger tastes fresh and juicy. I love the texture and the balance of fat with lean meat. After grilled the meat is juicy but chewy in a good way. * Fresh pork jowl 200g $19: Fresh and nice thickness of the pork jowl. The meat is springy and flavourful. Really good after you grilled it a bit longer, so it had a nice char flavor. Side dishes, lettuce and soy bean stewd are included with the bbq meat order. Price range on a mid-higher side. It's ggod to visit when you're looking for something different or on a special occasion.

Really friendly and efficient service, large portion on the bibimbap, rich flavourful seolleongtang! Delicious pumpkin soup on the house to start was a pleasant surprise. While the beef tartare was a common highlight among reviews, it didn't seem to deliver a wow factor other than being insta-pic worthy. However, this was an extremely solid bibimbap - satisfying, tasty, and generously topped. Happy with our choices.

This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. Here's what we ordered: * Beef Tartare Bibimbap - Not your typical bibimbap! The raw beef was beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. This was hands down our favourite dish! * Naengmyeon - Cold noodles in a super refreshing broth. Perfectly chewy with a balanced, savoury tang. A must-have on a hot day. * Japchae - Excellent portion, great price. The noodles were springy and not greasy at all--just the right balance of flavour. Great value, quality ingredients, and authentic flavours--Hansol is definitely going on our go-to list whenever we're craving comforting Korean food. We are highly recommend it for students, families, or anyone who loves real Korean cooking! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 each person (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking: 4/5 Tips: * Free refillable banchan (side dishes) * Must-try: naengmyeon (cold noodles) * Hidden gem: beef tartare bibimbap-flavourful and beautifully presented. * Limited seating - expect wait during peak hours * Tasty, affordable, and generous portions Would I Return: Yes ‍

They have…read morea daily $10 special consisting of soups, and rice bowl sets however it's very much a kbbq restaurant since there were bbq stoves even for two seaters. They offer a variety of meat, cuts, and combo deals but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they have an all beef and all pork all you can eat. We went on a Wednesday and it was all you can eat pork belly and marinated pork, with a soup and unlimited kimchi pancake and sides all for $30. The servers were extremely attentive in asking about refills, whether that's the rice, meats or even side dishes. A great bang for your buck for all you can eat these days. We heard the staff speaking to many customers in Korean so it must be Koreans approved. Need to come back on a Tuesday to try their beef all you can eat!

I was craving this soup and glad I tried it here because it hit the spot! Tasted delicious, didn't have to wait for a table, and it was reasonably priced then. Came back here last night for dinner with my family and was finally able to try the bbq items. It was a hit! We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and while they were short-staffed, they were quick enough to get what we requested and ordered in a timely manner.

Cute little family-owned and run restaurant. Small menu. We…read morehad the: -Bulgogi (16.99$): The tiniest bit too salty in my opinion, but other than that, absolutely scrumptious. Very flavourful. If you love onions, order this. Came with PURPLE RICE. I love Korean purple rice (which I believe is a mix of many different grains added to white rice). Unfortunately most Korean restaurants in Vancouver do not have purple rice. -Cold Noodle (14.99$, but they have a lunch special where, for 16.99$, you get two potato pancakes): At first I was hesitant to order this because I love buckwheat (dark gray/purplish colour) cold noodles, and these weren't those, but am so happy we did. I love the texture. The flavour of the broth was also excellent. My only qualm was the "cucumber garnishes" that, in my opinion, were actually too-sweet pickles. Other than that, highly recommend. Potato pancakes were also very yummy. They served complimentary barley tea, and had yummy banchans (kimchi radish, fish cake, and soy sauce pickled onions). The waitress (daughter of the owner-her mother) was very kind and patient with all my questions. Affordable, delicious, authentic, with good portion sizes.
