service dept is awful.. inconsiderate of people time and money. so let me tell ya my experience brought my suby in for a 120 thousand mile service of transmission, made a appointment due to covid restrictions, while making the appointment was told by the associate that it would take 2 hours on service . GREAT. Scheduled for a 9:45 am appointment. Well got there on time, , sat with full view of my car in line next to the covid free express lane. This is for folks that bought their car from this dealership, definite happy customers. so at11:45 am,2 hours with no service.. after seeing so many happy customers that came in after me leave very happy, high fives and covid hugs for all the obvious folks that bought their car from this Owner, about 7 to 10 of those happy folks. So I decided to go to service desk and explain that I came in at 9:45 am and my car has not moved. It's now 2 hours later and I cant wait all Day for a 2 hour work job. I told them I want my keys and i Am appalled at this Wait . The service dept does not know the meaning of appointment, or how to honor them. This person of authority told the associate to give him his key (Me) and get him out of here. Very unprofessional. so gave them bad review on their web site. , the response from owner was that due to covid 19 , service is limited to how many employees allowed in service, WHAT, such a escape by blaming bad service on covid, the reason I SET THE APPOINTMENT WAS DUE TO COVID 19. I guess you was worried about loss of toilet paper.. oh while in there in lobby( 2 hours) , there were over 15 sales associates gather together for a spirit meeting without mask. such lame Owner stating service dept depleted but the sales force is abundant. Well mr Owner , you might sell them but you are lousy on traditional follow thru on keeping suby people reasonable satisfied, no Wow moment here . people love their Suby 's, only a few know about the cvt tranny, don't trust your suby with folks like this dealership, if they cant manage simple time management, what would they do to you loved used Suby. My girlfriend and I went in on a Saturday to check out used Outbacks for her. She drove one and loved it, so we left for a couple hours to think it over. Upon returning to buy the car, there was a family about to take it for a test drive. We got a bit nervous that we might not get the car, but when Dave Ressler noticed the situation, he came over to us while speaking with salesman "Big Mike" and just said not to worry and that they were selling us the car. When making the deal, we were offered $500 for trade on an old car with high miles. We found this to be a fair offer, but I mentioned I should call our neighbor who needed a car to see if they would want it for $500. Upon overhearing this, Dave Ressler said to us, "How about we just knock $500 off the purchase price of the Subaru, if you promise just to GIVE your neighbor the car." Really?! Done deal. Then as we were signing the paperwork, Dave Ressler came over to the table again and handed us $200 cash, telling us to give it to our neighbor so that they could register the car and fix the windshield. We were floored. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, on our way out the door, Dave's daughter walked in the dealership with a bag full of Dairy Queen and offered us Dilly Bars. Haha... couldn't have had a better experience. I never would have guessed I'd leave a car shopping experience with a full heart, but I did. This was only a few weeks ago, and Dave Ressler has since passed. Our condolences to his family... his generosity and kindness will not be forgotten, and will certainly be paid forward. I live in NH and have been in the car business for 25 years. My daughter recently moved from NH to Livingston MT. Needless to say up until this point I have been able to help her with her vehicle needs. She commutes to work from Livingston to Bozeman. On her way home from work yesterday her 2008 Subaru Impreza started to shake and her check engine and ABS lights came on. She was able to make it to Gallatin Subaru. She did not have an appointment and it was at the end of a day. The service department did not hesitate to help her out. With all the recent snow a piece of ice got stuck up in her wheel creating the vibration and throwing some systems off. The wheel was cleaned and she was all set. When she asked for the bill she was told she wouldn't be charged just for that. I cannot thank your dealership enough for taking care of my daughter. Great experience! We purchased a new Outback in 2018 from Gallatin Subaru. Love the car. Mike Koelzer, our sales consultant had everything set up prior to our arrival. He made sure the car was equipped as we requested and was ready to drive away when we arrived. He was quite knowledgeable and thoroughly demonstrated and educated us on all the features of the car, including setting it up so it was personalized for each driver. It was his day off but he came in to work and spent as much time as needed for us to feel comfortable with the car. Thank you, Mike! The financial arrangements were clearly explained and quickly completed thanks to Will Bigelow. We were in the parking lot at the end of business hours setting up some of the media. I went to nearly every dealership in the Bozeman/Belgrade area and Gallatin Subaru, Mike Koelzer in particular, was the best experience I had out of any of them. He gave me the honest facts, and he knew them all very well, about the car I purchased and was very patient with my questions. I did not feel pressured to buy at all. The vehicle was fairly priced, just below its KBB value, and I felt as though I received a good deal as well as an enjoyable car buying experience. My bank was particularly slow at working with me and it took a few days to get the paperwork processed correctly, but Mike was as patient as ever and was a pleasure to work through the process with. Matt Sorrells went all out to make it easy for me to buy a 2018 Crosstrek. I told him what options I wanted. He called to tell me the target vehicle was coming of the delivery truck. I picked it up the next day. The deal was closed very easily and professionally. The dealer even took an out of state personal check. Matt helped me find a body shop to repair my Tundra while I drove off in the Crosstrek. I had tried earlier to deal with the Subaru dealer in Billings. Forget that idea. The sales manager there ended up telling me in effect that I was a "bad guy" because I was trying to get a Costco customer price. Not smart when someone is ready to write you a $26,000 check. I live in Montana on a Ranch, so I keep mouse traps in my vehicles, They refused to do the airbag recall because of the mouse trap. If they are worried about hanta virus then wear gloves and a mask, instead they sent me off in a manufacturer defect that could kill me.
