I've heard lots of wonderful things about Galleria Pizza from my coworkers. I'd have to say the food is simply good. It's not fine dining, but it's relatively cheap, quick, and tasty. The staff are all extremely nice and the space itself harkens to a diner of a simpler time. I had the burger and fries, which were both very fresh. Some of the fries were slightly starchy but overall I enjoyed them. They had a good flavor and a nice crisp. The burger was decent. Nothing life changing but good. I appreciate that the man I was ordering from told me about the special saving me a few bucks by bundling fries. That's some serious customer service. I also didn't have to wait long which was a nice surprise considering how busy the restaurant was. Overall I feel as if 4/5 stars for Galleria Pizza is appropriate because of their quick service for decent food at an okay price. My co-worker and I thought we discovered a secret new pizza spot no one knew about - we were wrong. In walking in the place was packed and had a little bit of a line. Most of the people were all people we worked with. Everyone assured us this was not a secret spot and was one of the best lunch spots around. IT IS! I was on a layover in Rochester and looking for a nearby place to have lunch. As a frugal person, I wanted something in the $ or $$ range. This place seemed appealing. I was greeted by a very friendly and gracious man at the register. They had great menu selections and a bunch of specials. I ordered the Galleria Plate which was 2 cheeseburgers (no bun, as it turns out), home fries and baked beans. The portions were great and tasted delicious. I will be back on my next layover here. I was staying at the Holiday Inn on State Street in Downtown Rochester when I noticed an Open sign flashing in a little window across the alley. I took a walk over, and was pleasantly surprised. Their menu is extensive, along with the list of daily specials. I opted for the Chicken Cordon Bleu wrap, and it was delicious. Stopped in for a quick light and cheap lunch---none of the slices seemed too appealing (too much meat), so I had a spinach bread. It was under a heat lamp and then put in the oven, so that puts a limit on its freshness and texture, but the dough flavor was exceptional. After living here for a while and walking around downtown, Galleria is a place that I've been curious about. This week provided the perfect opportunity for it. Their hours are not catered toward "late night" food at all (my typical pizza go-to). Clearly most of their crowd is the lunch and early dinner crowd. This week, we had people in town before an event at the Blue Cross Arena and needed a place to get food for eight (including kids) that was walkable and would not take too long. Low and behold, Galleria is open until 6 on weekdays, so it worked out PERFECTLY. We walked in a little before five and were pleased to find out that apparently after 3pm there is a special on pizzas. For a 2 liter soda, four fountain drinks, and three large pizzas (cheese, pepperoni, and meatball), the total came to 35. Seriously. When we heard the price our jaws almost hit the ground. Everyone was really nice and we did not have to wait too long for the food. The pizza when it came out was absolutely great. The sauce on the pepperoni was nicely tart, the cheese was deliciously melty and you could taste the mozzarella, and the seasoning on the meatball pizza was spot on. Quality food for a crazy low price. I cannot recommend them more. The next day, my boyfriend and I went in for a soda to sit in the afternoon and the people were just as nice. They did not seem to mind that we got just a soda and believe me, I was tempted by their slices (Chicken French? It looked SO good). Galleria will definitely go into the rotation of Rochester pizza places. read more

Came in on a Thurs. about a half hour prior to closing time. Although I was the only one there the staff were friendly and I felt welcome. I order the 12" Buffalo Chicken Finger hot sub. This sub is the real deal. Big a$$ homemade battered fried chicken breasts with a delicious buffalo sauce. The tenders were crisp and delicious. The bread was soft and toasted perfectly. Blue cheese dressing lined the sub alongside lettuce and tomato. This sandwich is HUGE and has some real weight to it, but I had no problem getting it all down. So delicious! My review is based exclusively on their wings. They are straight up are amazing and I crave them all the time. They have a very unique homemade recipe for their sauce and their wings are cooked perfectly 99% of the time...which for me is well done and very crispy. The owner, Tony, is a very nice guy and one time even gave me a bucket of his sauce for a camping trip I had. I asked for the recipe but he wouldn't give it to me and gave me the sauce instead. I work downtown and this used to be the perfect quick lunch, slices were$3.50+ and they were huge, just like Pontillos pie slices! However, 2 years later and they're definitely NOT the same. The slices are still $3.50+ and they're the same size as the slices of those Tony's frozen pizzas, not nearly as large as they used to be! They promote $7-$8 xlarge pizzas during a particular time on particular days... that's an awesome deal considering you would normally pay half of that for 1 super tiny slice! Also, the Pizza isn't as fresh kept as it used to be as well. They used to have fresh slices around lunch time, but now they most often have slices that look old and they just warm them up in the oven... I don't mind that too much but you'd think they'd put out fresh pizza for lunch? Although, the food overall does taste delicious when it's fresh and warm. read more

I came here recently to try it out for lunch and although my lunch was very yummy, I wasn't really that impressed. There is a ton of seating which is nice and it was a great quiet place to eat lunch. There was no line so I was able to order what I wanted as soon as I figured out what it was that I did want. The staff was friendly and professional which is always a plus and unfortunately something that I have to actually comment on. I ordered a 6 inch chicken Parmesan sub for my lunch. The chicken was scrumptious and the sauce was also good. There was the perfect ratio of chicken to cheese to sauce however, I felt that there was too much bread for the sandwich. I felt like a good amount of my sandwich was just bread and that was disappointing. I also felt that it was kind of expensive. I paid $9 and change for my sandwich and a soda. That price didn't include any kind of sides. Overall, I will come back again just so they can try to redeem themselves but I will learn from the past and I will order a slice of pizza instead of a sandwich. I am interested in how their pizza will compare to pizza stop right across the street. Chances are after I give them the second chance, I won't come back unless nothing else is open. read more

I have been there a few times and the food was good, but I went there for lunch today and saw a very serious health violation and I will not be returning. I saw the line cook put raw meat on the grill and then immediately proceed to grab raw vegetables from the salad bar without changing gloves. The salad cook then proceeded to make salads and cold subs from the same containers that had been touched by the raw meat gloves. This spreads bacteria such as salmonella and can make people very ill. I will not be dining there in the future. read more

I absolutely love it here! It is a block from my work. When I order it it is hot and ready in a short time. Their quesadillas are awesome. The owner that usually runs the register is extremely friendly. He has started to recognize me and knows my name. The whole staff even back in the kitchen are very nice and efficient.
