We were invited to attend a function here. I was not able to take any photos since the food was served in a buffet and I didn't think it would right of me taking pictures of the food while I am in line. The food was not bad. Not spectacular, but still acceptable. The prime rib roast was good. The ball room was very spacious. It was able to accommodate over 100 people. The dance floor was big enough to handle a lot of dancers. The stage where the band performed was a little bit cramped depth-wise, but was long enough for the players and their gear. The staff was ok. I didn't feel they were very attentive, but they weren't neglegent. They did run out of coffee. That was a bummer. The decor was a bit dated, but it wasn't an eyesore. My school booked a party. The planner said she would call back with contract. She NEVER called back and when we called her, she lied and said she tried to reach us but we did not answer. I attended a milestone event here last weekend. Not my first time, as I have attended plenty of events since the 90s. But it IS the first time that I departed dissatisfied. Let me be clear, the food is still top notch. No complaints there! Over twenty years I've gone here for various occasions and the catered food is always pleasing to the palate. Having said that, this was the first time the service was below subpar. There was a lot of money, time, and effort spent planning and executing for the event I attended last weekend. The maitre'd was polite, but his team was incompetent on every level. I do not think it is too much to expect that they'd at least be able to communicate clearly via speaking English. They rushed our party at the end, tried to take the food for themselves (including the cake). It was ultimately unprofessional and not a good look at all. The bartender (which open bar was paid for BEFOREHAND), she had a horrible attitude from the beginning and was not ready to begin promptly as scheduled. Guests were waiting and a line quickly formed. Plenty of times she was nowhere to be found and more than once the maitre'd himself had to rush behind the bar and make drinks to serve the guests. However i don't think I would have a wedding or Anniversary here. The place is do dusty like it really needs to be cleaned. The bathrooms are dated. Attended a Sweet 16 party on Saturday March 30 and there were so many things that were disappointing. My first question is How does a caterer run out of food? We were the last table out of 8 tables called up and nothing was left. We were told more food would be brought out and nothing came out. Another problem was Why is the staff taking food and eating it while taking care of partygoers?? They brought a tray of cake out to serve my table and a worker walked over and took two plates off for her and another worker to eat. We had to wait for more cake to be brought out for us. I've gone to two family events here and we've all enjoyed our experiences each time. Everyone always loves the food which is well seasoned & offers options for all. The room we use is pretty basic so I wouldn't have like a wedding here but for a birthday/retirement/etc. it's perfect. However I've seen some pics of nicer rooms so my opinion is based strictly on the room we went to. The parking lot also gets full quick if there's more than one party going on so you may have to park in the street. read more

Although the food was very good everything else was 1 star. The servers are rude, putting the coffee on the table an hour before dessert and removing it 15 minutes later, when I asked for coffee it never came..The day before my party I asked for 12 chairs per table which they did not do and then made a big scene when there were not enough seats. I have been here a few times for other parties and I was Definitely wow'd by the decor my co worker had for her daughters 1st Bday it was perfect for her room. The food was a decent selection. Toward the end of my niece's celebration, the manager said the other rooms complained that our music was too loud. This place threatened to call the cops. We felt discriminated against because we were African Americans. The other three parties were Hispanics. The entire staff was Hispanic. We did not complain about their loud music; not once. We accepted the blended sound and continued to party. It was fun, but classy. Shame on this hall for ruining my niece's Sweet Sixteen. She literally cried and felt discriminated against. Stephen and his team made my daughter's 18th birthday catered from here on December 30, 2021, when the pandemic is on the rise. They did not disappoint, the food was so fresh and delicious. All our guests were more than impressed with the ambiance of the place, and, happy with the food they served, plus, the politeness of the service. They are extremely professional from booking online to the telephone and meeting up in person, Peter- a highly competent professional who will really help you. During the event, Stephen's team was very accommodating especially Stephen try to help us make the program more beautiful by suggesting when and when not to dim the lights. They were very helpful. My only comment is the kind of pitchers they are using in serving grand and elegant tables. The plastic pitchers are so out of place and look so cheap. I guess next time you can use designer glass pitchers of various shapes like a vase or wine bottle pitchers in order to complement the elegance of the place. The shout-out that has to be placed on the tv regarding Dazzle@18 where nowhere to be found as confirmed in the contract we signed. I had my engagement party here and after booking I decided to read the reviews. I was so skeptical after reading all the horrible reviews. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and I am so glad I did. From the beginning of my booking process till the last second of my party all the staff and management was so helpful and accommodating. I came here for a party so I didn't plan anything with them so I can't tell you how it's like to plan an event here. First off, very little to no parking at all at this spot. We ended up parking down a street. There is NO valet service so if you're wearing heels, carry some flats with you to walk to and from your car if you don't find a spot nearby. We ended up parking way down a residential street. It's because it turns out that they have four rooms with four parties going on all at once. If you have so many parties going at once with that many guests, you really need to consider getting a bigger lot or valet service. There are lots of guests in heels or possibly older guests. You walk in, there is a tv screen with what party goes to which room. In the lobby, all four rooms are intermingling and completely dazed and confused as they find their way around. The actual room was really nice especially for the size. The bartender was quick though not heavy on the alcohol. The food was decent. I really liked the paella that was served. I heard the stuffed shells were good. The prime rib was a little on the dry side. Though the food was packed up and away real quick soon after. The service was decent. They came in and cleared the plates asap as needed. Another downfall was sadly the AC was broken that day we went and therefore, it was stifling hot inside. Also, they closed the doors because other parties from the other rooms were coming in and watching the event. So, that just made it worse especially when you're trying to dance. Attended a NJ Alarm Association meeting here. It was great. Good food, ok service, nice venue. After reading the many negative reviews, maybe I was lucky? Now they didn't pore the coffee - just left the insulated container on the other side of the table - but it got passed around and I didn't have to wait for the 2nd cup. All total, of the many meetings I have attended for various associations this was a good experience. If the party has a cash bar make sure you bring cash. They don't accept card. You also get charged Manhattan prices for drinks that are way too small. Not to mention if you have a kid and need juice for them, you have to pay for that. The food is subpar. The party we were in had a buffet set up. When I asked for a separate plate of pasta for my kids, I was given a disapproving look by the server and had to explain it was for my kids. I don't understand why I even had to explain that. An update on the Galloping Hill experience from hell. My Sweet16 was on September 1st, besides all the unprofessional and consideration.. They asked me to come back today (Saturday 9/9/23) to resolve the issue and yet here I am writing another review.!!! when I finally get to speak to the owner, he's trying to talk over me, and trying to tell me how to talk and that I shouldn't have an attitude!! Meanwhile he's answering the phone, having ppl walk in while I'm trying to tell him my issues and concerns.! He is completely unprofessional! The nerve of him to tell me how the $6,750 was not a lot of money that he has other parties that spend more.! The arrogance of this man! i requested everyone from the manager to the receptionist who booked and helped me with this party so there's no grey area and to find out the manager is on vacation all of a sudden after I was told he'll be here.!! How convenient right! They broke and threw away my belongings and wouldn't even compensate!! They want me to call and come back for the 6th time to resolve this issue! I don't understand why it couldn't of been resolved right there and then! He's to busy counting his money in front of me and saying how he has all of these business and how my party should have been more.!!! I will never ever do business there again.!! First I want to say I am a professional event planner that has hosted events in the most prominent and professional, top tier/5 star service venues stationed out of New York City and abroad. This is going to be long and you'll see why... This event was actually for my cousins daughters sweet 16 (so keep in mind I only went through with this event because it was my family). Let's start from day 1 my cousin booked this venue for the event and I went to do a site visit about a month after. There's no one to greet you upon entry you just walk in and start looking for the offices which is on the 2nd floor, I was greeted by a gentlemen by the name of Peter, I explained to him that I was there to do a site visit because I'm decorating for my clients sweet 16 and wanted to know if they needed insurance documents from me and what is the time frame for vendors. He was very abrupt and not welcoming as if I was annoying him, said there's a strict hour and a half policy for all vendors to enter the room to decorate and that's the best they can do, he's not the owner. I than told him well my client wants an elaborate decor that will take me and my vendors hours to do. He continues to say that that's the policies and if I want to call my client to see if he still wants to keep his booking than that's up to me, I was shocked. Than he asks me my clients name and says ok you can go look at the room, bye. (No one else was there at the moment so I was surprised he didn't escort me to the room and let me know any details or options as a banquet manager) so after leaving I called my cousin and said there's no way I can give his daughter what she wants in 90 minutes to try to talk to someone about getting at least 3 hours I can scale down the decor and make something work in 3 hours. Fast forward to the day my cousin and his wife go in to make the final payment and linen choices with Peter they had me on 3 way I asked them to beg for extra time. Peter said we can come in at 4pm cause there's no event before ours and our event starts at 7pm. What I'm about to say honestly still has me in shock. I arrived at the venue the day of the event yesterday at 2pm to ask where is the loading dock (I arrived early because I come from NY and I didn't want to get caught in traffic) so he asks what time is the event I said 7pm but they said I can get in the room at 4, boy o boy this man damn near called me a liar and I played dumb the whole time cause now he tried to act like it wasn't him who said it and that we dealt with someone else, I called my cousins wife on 3 way and he was so rude to her over the phone. He than calls the GM and starts putting on a show like im disgruntled and tried to pull a fast one and I don't know who I talked to. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears to the drama this man could of caused. I kept it professional and just said just let me unload I can start working from outside and whenever you let me in is fine because at that point I was over it. The GM didn't want the drama either he said the best he can do is let me in 2 hours before and so they did. My advice to this venue is, I've been in this business over 20 years and I get it, it's a generational operation. But you must grow in leadership and in the modern world. There use to be venues like this in nyc that force you into using all their vendors so they can pocket all the money. So if you come with outside vendors they give them 90 minutes to discourage outside vendors from coming in. That's an old trick in the play book, it's time to modernize that's where the real money is, offer your clients to book the room for the entire day clients will pay thousands for extra hours, I see this place has been opened since the 70's I'm sure you have your old school vendors locked in but trust me keep an open portfolio to these new vendors recreating spaces you'll quadruple in revenue, get a receptionist at the front door so that it can be a welcoming space , valet parking. The disrespect I received from your employee Peter was beyond me, GET RID OF PETER HE IS NOT REPRESENTING YOUR BRAND AT ALL! read more

First I must say after reading all the reviews on Yelp and it was giving them only 3 stars . I was very skeptical about having an event there. I just want to praise them for a job well done !!!! I had my Nice baby shower there this Saturday, November 21, 2020 . During Cove it is a difficult time where you have to social distance and still be able to have fun. Well my maître d' name was Ray and the banquet manager name was Lou. Who was very knowledgeable and very pleasant and very professional. They made our party turn out so fabulous. She was very pleased with the service and the food was very good ( for a banquet) All the guests were very pleased and my niece was very excited and she asked if she could have her next event there. Never again! I was very, very disappointed with my order I had for my Christmas dinner. Where should I start? I ordered Baked Macaroni and Cheese and Oh my God was it awful! It tasted like as if they put a few boxes of Velvetta macaroni and cheese put extra milk in it and just threw shredded cheese just on top! IT WASN'T EVEN BAKED! Just soupy cheese in the middle and shredded cheese on top! It tasted and looked like a big tray of cheese soup with no flavor and not made the correct way! Oh my God! They should never say that they make Baked Mac and cheese there! It was truly disgusting. No love at all. Next,,, I also ordered garlic potatoes along with garlic chicken, Swedish meatballs and chicken Marsala and they gave me bread rolls. The Garlic potatoes were NOT cooked all the way!They tasted raw! The chicken in both dishes was not cooked all the way and it tasted raw but with a lot of sauce on it. The chicken Marsala had a very funny taste with the Marsala sauce. It did not taste fresh. The garlic chicken was ok but didn't have no flavor. It was very bland. The Swedish meatballs were awful. I had to add basic seasons in it just do it can be edible honestly. The best thing that I received from them were their dinner rolls that came with the meal That was the worst $300 investment I ever made But the people in the office are nice Sorry I made this bad report but it is what it is. I spent good money on such a lousy meal and I was embarrassed that my guest did not like the dishes as well that I paid for. The catering dishes really was not a good choice for me to do and, I will never order from this establishment again. Yuck! Some of the servers was rude to the guest. one of the braidsmaide was in front of me getting food it was pepper steak & the sever was just giving her onions & pepper & gravy so the lady said can I have steak please & the server sucked her teeth. Then it was brought to my attention the macaroni salad tasted spoiled or sour I brought to the the older gentleman attention who was over seeing the servers & he said to me" that's impossible the cook makes it fresh everyday maybe it's the vinger we put in it. I didn't get an apology & I thought the customer was always right. then towards the end of the reception my cousin asked a hour before the service was over if they can pack up the rest of the food that was there. that we saw & knew was there. I went there to pick up the gifts and very disappointed that the person I spoke to could not even explain why they would call me that they found my gifts after a month . Came here in April to book a bridal shower for my sister. My visit was midday and there seemed to be only one person who could assist me ( Louie) He was in with another couple so after waiting ( even though i had a set appointment) we met and discussed the event. I was pleased with the prices, food selection, and things involved in the package. When I asked to see the room I was told to go and look at it as he could not leave the office... ( As a planner I get that you are busy, as a client how dare you send me to view a room alone, in a venue i have never been to). After viewing the room I went back upstairs to ask a few questions. He answered everything and I booked. I booked this place out of necessity not because of the service.... Flash to August day of event. My vendor came at apprx 1030am to set up and was greeted by Michelle whom she described as extremely rude, ignored her request to get in the building, and was not aware of any of the event details. Upon my 11am arrival Michelle explained that she does not know event details and has to look everything up and could not find it...After smoothing things over with her the event went well and the food was good. He followed me around because I didn't have an ID meanwhile they were told no ID simply because there was a wedding going on. I am 22 and never seen a man be more stubborn than him. It's really sad that a venue would take advantage of you during COVID. I actually love this venue, however, they're refusing to return my deposit after our Birthday party had to be canceled due to COVID restrictions in 2020. They're only offering another date or catering at a venue of your choice. I don't mind them wanting to keep our initial $300 deposit (although they should return that too) but my additional monies which paid for half of my party you do not get to keep!!! To date, my pleas have been ignored and I'll have to take them to court. I'm saying this to say, be sure that you want to have an event here before booking or be ready to fight for the refund of your monies. read more
