I've been on a personal tour of Columbus wing joints, and this spot has easily earned a Top 5 ranking. I came here on a tip from my brother and his friend who swore the wings were "worth the drive." And I mean deep West Side drive. If you're not from the area, I'll be real -- the vibe at first glance might throw you. It's the kind of place you second-guess from the parking lot. But walk in, sit down, and give it five minutes -- because it turns out to be one of the most welcoming and cool little bar spots around. I ordered the Hot Garlic Wings (6 count) and they were outstanding. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and seasoned before being sauced -- a detail more places need to get right. Flavor was bold without being overpowering, and they came out fresh, not rushed. I'm already planning a return for the Carolina Gold or Sweet Chili. They keep it straightforward with drinks -- bottled Pepsi products and water. No fuss, just the basics. Atmosphere -wise, it's very much a West Side bar -- local energy, regulars at the counter, music low enough to talk over. I finally went to Galloway Tavern after months of being told how good their wings were. these are Mild, Flappers and Double Baked. They were very good. I'm not always a boned in wing kind of person, but these were crispy and cooked just right! I would definitely come back again. Kinda loud with the music, but was expected because of it being a bar. I went around 3:30pm on a Tuesday and there were good amount of people already there. So I'm sure lot busier, the later you go. read more

This is an old building with a very small parking lot, limited seating and no sign on the building. If you done have GPS or know where you're going, you're not going to find it. However, if you DO find it, you're in for a treat! This small tavern has a big heart. The atmosphere is dark when you first walk in, but the friendly staff and great menu makes up for any concerns you might have. I have returned 4 times since my initial visit and plan to return weekly! I have had their Rueben sandwich, AWESOME, The Fried Bologna sandwich, excellent, the pizza, out of this world, the hamburger, oh my stars it's amazing, and the Italian salad, absolutely fresh crunchy and so flavorful! Ate there for first time this week. Our group tried sauerkraut balls, wings and burgers. Sauerkraut balls were probably the best ever, wings and burgers very good. Stick with me here: I hesitate to rate this place, because one of the downsides is how crowded it always is. And for every review that raves about the food, it could get even busier... Honestly, this place is a dive. When you walk in, you feel like you're in someone's basement in 1975. And you'll probably have trouble finding a seat at the bar, or at any of the 50-year-old tables with uncomfortable chairs. Also, the staff and the regulars might not be all that nice to you... But once you get past that, the food is so good it will shock you. It's bar food: Everything you can imagine fried, plus pizza, wings, and sandwiches. But the fried stuff is great, the pizza is incredible, the wings are amazing, and the two sandwiches I've tried (the fried bologna and the Reuben) are better than you'd ever imagine. My friend and I stopped in for Lunch at 12:50 pm on a Thursday. We found an open table that seats 4. More than 10 minutes passed before we were approached with menus. The server mentioned she was both tending the bar as well as serving every table. Needless to say, service was very slow, but she quickly brought out our first sodas. We both ordered Ruben sandwiches, one with fries. Our food arrived about 45 minutes later, piping hot and delicious except the fries which were limp and greasy. Watching orders being delivered to other tables, everything from the pizzas, fried bologna sandwiches, hamburgers and wings looked delicious and very few people left food on their plates which I consider a good thing. The only real negative I would add besides the slow service was how extremely loud the music was making it difficult to hear the person directly across the table from me. We were considering this location for a monthly group lunch for friends but with the majority of tables being tall with only 4 table being low and seating 4 each, and knowing our group age is a very spirited 65, we decided it would not be an appropriate group location. I was blown away with their pizza. Walked right in, and the lady who took our order was very friendly and said about 30 minutes. It was really packed in there, and my pizza came up in around 18 minutes. The pizza was extremely delicious. I will be back very soon. I wanna try the wings next. Absolute hole in the wall and typically not my go to place, but it is fun when they have karaoke. Drinks are super cheap and I kid you not I love coming here to eat. Their wings and pizza are delicious. I just get some food, play some keno, and listen to people sing. I've also tried their mozzarella sticks and fried pickle chips. The service can be hit or miss. They can get super busy and food and drinks may take a while. I'll have to try other food items, but I always get the pizza or wings. It's too good! read more

Just had, in my opinion, the best pizza by far within 25 miles of Columbus! I had pepperoni, sausage and bacon. bacon crisp and crumbly, sausage really tender. just the right amount of cheese and sauce. Crust not too thick not too thin. Ice cold beer! Arrived at 5pm on Friday 4/5/24. Got quick service with drinks. However, the food (one pizza and 12 wings) never arrived. Our original waitress decided to bartend and checked one time to give us another beer. Never came back. Asked another waitress to check on our food since it had been 1 1/2 hours and she never came back. Finally I said forget it (actually it was not that nice) and I went to the bar to pay our drink tab. My waitress was unloading beer and did not apologize when I said we had been waiting 1 1/2 hours. She smiled and said they were slammed. I did not smile and said it was not busy when we arrived at 5p. I cannot believe she didn't comp us for our drinks (only $9) and/or apologize. I do not recommend Galloway Tavern!!! read more

HIGHLY recommend. You seriously can't beat the prices for the quality that you get. I am in a pizza group and a wing connoisseur group and this place was highly recommended, so I had to make the 25 minute drive and check it out. I ordered the Carolina Gold wings and the spicy garlic wings and they were absolutely perfect when it comes to the crisp and flavor. They were pretty meaty, tasted fresh and none of them had that sometimes frozen burnt taste in the middle. I also ordered their G-T pizza and it had a wow factor from the flavor of the sauce. They seemed to be a little short staffed so the service wasn't as good as it could have been but the bartender was very friendly and was working very hard as she was covering the entire floor. I had a hard time finding the place as there's no sign out front and the street name is different online then it is on the street. However, it is the only tavern in the area so you can assume. Mostly bar food, but a lot to choose from. We ordered pizza, & it was a solid choice. Pizza: We got a 16" Deluxe. Great fresh veggies & excellent meats on it. The sauce was ok, nothing great. Crust was crispy on the outer edge, soggy in the middle. The taste was very good though. Not great, but very good. Came out of the oven AT OVEN TEMP! It was SO hot! We had to let it cool before eating. We enjoyed it. Not bad... Tavern: It's definitely got a dive bar feel. People there were exceedingly nice & quick. Good service. The other patrons were friendly & non threatening. Beer was cheap, but surprisingly, all bottles...no draft. Clean, TV's, classic rock on the speakers...you get it. Overall, I'd say this is a great place to stop at sometime & grab a bite to eat, or just hang for awhile & drink a few beers. Again, the service is great & the food is pretty good. We decided to drive out to the Galloway Tavern and the hamburger was juicy and tasty. French fries were seasoned and hot. It was Karaoke night also which was fun to hear. Great little dive bar with solid food options. No draft beer, but super affordable prices for bottles - $2.50 for a CBC beer, and $1.65 for PBR! They seemed to have a full bar with any liquor option you could want, so I anticipate the prices for cocktails would be good, too. We had a medium pineapple pizza, and it was a little overly cheesy but really tasty with a thinner crust. We had two craft beers, two PBRs, and a medium pizza for $21. I mean, that is awesome, especially considering the quality and how nice the bartender was! There is a pool table, several large tvs, and options for Keno if you're into that. I hear there's also karaoke periodically. A Nascar race was on tv, so there were additional discounts on domestic beer during the event. It may look like a sketchy biker bar from the outside (I mean, it IS a biker bar, but nbd) but it's fairly clean, the food is good, and the service is friendly. All the food was really good. We got mozzarella sticks, jalapeño cream cheese poppers, a Philly cheesesteak and the pepperoni lovers. While I think the atmosphere could be better it reminds me of the old bar around the corner from my house as a kid. That said, it's a sports BAR that happens to have really great food and is actually pretty kid friendly. Minus the guys watching football and cursing at the TV but I do that at home so my kids are used to it. The waitresses/barmaids were great and very welcoming. A true hidden gem!!! Mostly because they have some of the best wings I've tried... for a price that cannot be beat! I got 18 wings for 12.25$ which is unheard of. The interior is that of what you would expect from a small dive bar. I've also been told that they have great prices on drinks and some of the best pizza, which is next on my list to try!
