We feel so lucky to have found Dr. Khouban!! The hardest part of having fur babies is having to let one go. Our golden retriever Riley was at the end of her life and we knew we wanted her last view to be of the home she grew up in and not some lab table at the vets office. Dr Khouban came to our home and was so so patient with us, giving us the time we needed to say goodbye. She also did a paw print keepsake of her paw so we can always have that with us. I really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. We recently added a new pup to our family and look forward to using her other care services for him and our golden Penny.

I just visited Dr Khouban when the cat I recently adopted got tapeworm. I'm a first time pet owner so I had a lot of questions and anxiety of not knowing what to do. Dr K was so patient with me answered all my questions and was very transparent about the steps and costs. She was honest about which options were more bang for the buck. You can tell she's in this business for the animals as her love and care shines through. Due to Covid I wasn't able to talk to her in person, but she was open and consistent with her communication so it was like I was there every step of the way. When I got my cat back, she was calm and relaxed in her carrier showing no signs of stress. Thank you Dr Khouban!

Dr. Galleet Khouban is the consummate professional - she is the vet that you want for your furry member of the family. Having a sick pet is one of the most worrisome and stressful positions that a person can be in. During this time, you desire someone who will give your pet their utmost attention, someone who displays the empathy, care, gentle touch, and honesty you would want in a physician that sees you, your friends, or family. These are the qualities that I immediately noticed in Dr. Khouban. I arrived at her vet clinic with 10/10 stress and emotions through the roof as my cat had been urinating blood over the previous week. Right off the bat, she soothed my cat by gently talking to him and softly patting his back, and then made me feel a million times more comfortable by calmly and confidently explaining her plan. After taking my cat, she provided me with updates and intermittent spurts of reassurance and ease. After giving my cat back to me, she went through all her diagnostics and findings in language that I can understand, and made sure that I understood everything and all my options prior to leaving. She offered me opportunities to ask questions and respectfully answered and provided detailed explanations. I felt...a sigh of relief, like I had someone in my corner who would make sure my cat was heading in the right direction. Once home, she even followed up with me and made sure that all my prescriptions were placed appropriately. She also followed up with my cat's progress throughout the next two weeks. It can sometimes be hard to sense whether a physician is "just doing their job" or if she/he is fulfilling their passion and truly caring for your loved one as if it was their own. With Dr. Khouban, the entire visit felt like the latter. I am truly grateful and will forever go to her for all my animal needs.

My beautiful dog, I will miss you forever

My baby Oreo the love of my life had neared her end of her beautiful long life and I cannot express the sheer amount of gratitude I have for finding Dr. Khouban. Everytime I would think about what I had to do I would cry. Dr. Khouban took charge and helped me through this difficult moment and was so compassionate and caring. It felt as if she also knew and loved my dog for as long as I did. The thought of taking her to the vet and doing it there, a place I know she hates, gave me anxiety because I wanted her last moments to be happy so the fact that Dr. Khouban came to my home is so invaluable. She made sure Oreo was comfortable and I was with her the whole time. It just looked like she went to sleep and that was that. Without her I wouldn't have been able to do this. You need someone who knows what they're doing, who can make you and your fur baby be comfortable and not scared, let's you take your time and do it at the right time. The last moments are so precious and you don't want to mess with that with the wrong doctor. I truly cannot suggest Dr. Khouban and her services more. I garuantee you're in good safe capable hands! Additionally, during these times with covid she was very clean and very safe and having that extra precautions being taken care of very well helped me put my mind at more ease.

Honestly, I did not have high expectations for this vet. I do not know the area too well but by driving around, it doesn't look like an area I would be frequenting. I assumed the inside of this place would be like a run down county clinic deep in the trenches of Los Angeles. Which I've had my fair share of experiencing back in the days. I was so wrong! This place is so awesome. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and attentive! I had a lot of questions every visit, I never had a puppy before and I was really anxious about making sure she was healthy. They always answered everything very patiently and had the best attitude. Since I do not live close I would have to call over the phone for vaccination records to enroll my puppy into classes etc and I even changed her name and they'd always answer my calls and email over anything I needed. The customer service has been exceptional. I would come here simply for that alone. They decorated the office so nice, it looks newly remodeled. The waiting lobby is small but comfy. They do not push for any specific food brands which is refreshing. They always call to remind you of an appointment. The people and their dogs that I've seen here all are very friendly and it looks like everyone comes for routine and not because their dogs are sick. I love that! The prices are fair, they're not low by any means but they're not outrageous. I find them to be decent for the services. I really appreciate the care they provided for my girl, she was here quite a few times due to being a puppy. We now go to a place closer to home because I don't live in Los Angeles. It's honestly the only reason. But I highly recommend this place to anyone in LA looking for a good vet!

We kept coming back for the convenient location--until today. I arrived 15 minutes early for my dog's 2:30 PM appointment. At check-in, the front desk (Crystal) asked me to prepay, which was new to me. When I asked what services were included, she said only vaccines. I had previously requested microchipping a week ago, but that wasn't noted. She mentioned a 3 PM cancellation slot, but I told her to hold off since I couldn't stay much longer. After waiting over an hour, I asked a different tech about the delay. Then Crystal blurted she had moved my appointment to 3 PM to include all services--something she NEVER communicated; which I pointed out to her, I asked to speak with a supervisor and continued waiting. We were finally taken to a room, and 15 minutes later (total of 1hr 15min LATER) , the doctor entered and accused *ME* of being disrespectful to her staff--which is completely FALSE. I believe the front staff member BLATANTLY LIED to cover her own condescending and unprofessional behavior. I was upfront with the doctor and encouraged her to review the cameras. As a business owner myself, I know you never put a customer on the defensive--especially when your feelings are hurt because someone called out poor service. That's a training issue, not mine. This experience was not only upsetting but also makes me question how much the doctors enable their staff's mediocrity. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service is evident from the moment you walk in. I stand by my word: !!! review the cameras!!! I was never disrespectful--not once.

At some points it was as if he was not even in the room turning away to allow my wife and I to have complete privacy in the middle of this to say goodbye. He shared very few words only to relieve our anxiety and concerns about our animal's initial reaction or what to expect from the euthanasia. This in itself was so appropriate and created an environment where we were not being consumed by the "unknown" with regards to this process. He truly is the right type of person to help anybody from any background in saying goodbye to their pets in private in your own home and like I said, it was almost as if he wasn't even there. At the clinic, it sometimes takes three nurses to support him, one to gently hold him, one to feed him churro (his favorite distraction), and one to administer fluids. And they do it all with so much patience, compassion, and genuine care. Because of this team, Finn is not only stable, he's doing so well. Truly, I believe they've saved his life. Because I had to go to work/could not cancel, I opted to do the day after. The estimate at MASH is $6,000-8,000 but here it was around $4500. I dropped my cat off early on Wednesday for his check-up, test, and surgery. Ultimately, they disagreed with the vets at MASH and said my cat had no crystals either in x-ray or in his urinalysis but did have a UTI which contributed to a second blockage (bladder overflow). They kept him for 48-hours to unblock and recover. This cost around $2K. At MASH where he had done the same 2 days earlier, it was $6K When MASH returned my cat, he was rough. He reeked of pee, his face was completely crusted/sticky with dried medicine, his fur was full of shed, and he was lethargic and in pain despite all the medicines. When Affordable returned him, my cat was bright and energetic. They clearly took care of him (he smelled like a baby wipe). It has been about a week since I brought him home, but I knew immediately that he was feeling better the day I picked him up. Now, he has completely recovered. Back to flinging himself around and meowing at 4 am. I am incredibly grateful to this hospital for their responsiveness, flexibility, affordability, and the kindness they showed my cat. I was worried that I would end up losing my cat (I had paid nearly $7K at MASH and he wasn't better) if he blocked again, but Dr. Barrera said that I should "give my cat a chance." He said that it is what he would do if it were his cat. I'm grateful that I did because it saved him from unnecessary surgeries. My cat was seen by Dr. Forsythe and Dr. Barrera and they both were very kind and gentle with him. I do see what some reviews mean about their disorganization. They forgot to call me to update me that he wasn't getting the surgery but would need to be hospitalized. I had to call them, but it turned out that Dr. Forsythe had gotten very sick. He returned my call despite being audibly quite sick and given that my cat needed the hospitalization anyways (and he was fine), I can see how it slipped through the cracks. They seem to accommodate all kinds of emergencies as best as they can, so I think a little disorganization is totally ok. I do think Dr. Forsythe needs a new phone. It sounded like he was calling from a remote cabin or from a phone that fell off a cliff. I had to listen to the voicemail at max volume more than once. I will likely return again/switch my primary vet to this one because it is closer, cheaper, and I had a great experience. And apparently, my shy scaredy cat enjoyed the attention he received here. There are some more "affordable" vets but in terms of quality/expertise, this hospital is well worth the price. When I called around to vets in Los Angeles for cystotomy prices, Ambassador Dog & Cat Hospital were the only ones that actually do it (many don't update their sites) that are near me (don't have a car) and their estimated price was also the same $4500. They are also roughly the same prices of my long-time vet (Beverly Robertson, wonderful, estimated $4K for procedure) and especially after going to MASH, these prices might as well be pennies. CareCredit is accepted basically everywhere, but what's nice about this hospital is that they accept ScratchPay which is a god send for emergency vet loans. This hospital is in an old building, but is still very nice and clean. Maybe not as sparkling as a brand new facility, but on par with the vets I've gone to over my lifetime.
