So many red flags from this place. - They don't allow any clients in the room during your dogs PT sessions - After your $400-ish consult they email about literally 50 pages of PDFs, but no rough outline of what the PT plan will be. I called for clarification and all they sent was a vague email about what exercises they may do. - After the consult, if the vet recommends 6 sessions for your pet, they all have to be paid for up front and are non-refundable, even though they told me on the phone that they are in fact refundable. The agreement they sent me stated otherwise. - They require your dog be on an outdated parasite medication to do hydrotherapy (as well as flea, tick, heartworm and up to date on vaccinations). My dog has IBD and can not take chewable parasite medication, so he was unable to do hydrotherapy which was the only reason I brought him to Paw Rehab. - I booked my dog's appointment 3 weeks in advance. I never heard any follow up from Paw Rehab. I called the day before his appointment, turns out he would not be allowed to do hydrotherapy as he can't take their required parasite medication. They never contacted me to ensure he was good to go for his appointment. They're now refusing to refund me for the consult even though they have such strict and unusual requirements for hydrotherapy that were not communicated to me until the day before his appointment. It is not common for PT places to require so much for hydrotherapy, especially an anti parasite medication. My vet told me my dog should not be on a parasite medication as it could cause an IBD flare up for him. read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. Dr. Bak and all the staff are great. My dog has been going for a couple of months for twice-weekly treatment of arthritis and I'm so happy with the results. It took a few weeks (for my dog) to see results and it is expensive but that is what pet insurance is for. I'm 100% satisfied and highly recommend them. Brought our puppy here for rehab after a luxating patella surgery. We actually checked out another facility prior to this one but this one by far seemed the most sanitary by miles. I will not name the other popular facility of the westside. We were also fortunate to schedule our puppy's rehab plan on days when his surgeon, Dr. Little (best surgeon!!!) is at this facility to oversee his rehabilitation. Checking in and out for sessions are really quick and easy. The staff are super nice and friendly. The staff and doctor Bach are amazing. I have been taking my Bailee there for couple years off and on. Came back recently and Bailee gets the professional therapy she needs. I can tell she moves more at ease and feels more condestable. More energy. My Bailee is almost 11years old. Dr Bach even told me to get my Bailee an ultra sound due to her history of cancer and I did and found a mass. My Labrador Thomas couldn't walk up stairs anymore. He could not jump up on his favorite couch. When trying to walk up our two stairs his back legs would give out. My husband would have to carry him. I can't recommend Dr. Bak, Nancy, and the team at PAW Rehab highly enough. Earlier this year, our cat had a major medical crisis. While at the vet, she went into cardiac arrest, had to be resuscitated, and suffered major brain damage. She spent a week and a half in the hospital, and when we brought her home, she couldn't get up off her side. Our first night, we had to set an alarm to turn her over every 4 hours to ensure she didn't get bed sores! We had planned to leave her in the hospital until she was less dependent, but the vet recommended that what she really needed was outpatient physical therapy. So we transitioned her home and made an appointment at PAW Rehab for that very same day. We are so grateful that we did! Being home helped our cat regain the will to live - within two days, she was sitting up by herself. Two more days after that, she started walking shakily. With the support of the team at PAW Rehab, she now has full mobility. Her experience has left her blind, but she walks around and navigates well, her limbs are strong, and her personality has returned in full force. This review has been a long time coming, but I've finally gotten the words to express my gratitude. To start, I've had less-than-desirable experiences with veterinarians in Los Angeles. After my sweet pup fell ill, I looked for any solution to his pain and was referred to Paw Rehab. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered how thoroughly invested and caring Dr. Bak and her entire staff were when treating my baby. Dr. Bak received all of the information various vets were throwing at me and helped me understand it. After my pup's passing, she spend a great deal of time on the phone to give me information and comfort. While the treatment plan might seem costly, it's worth every penny when you see the relief with which sessions provide your pet. I signed a contract with payment and services for a length of time, but to my surprise, Dr. Bak was the one who told me she didn't want me to bring my pup in anymore because she said his heart couldn't handle it. Let's be honest: other clinics wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make more money off of us, but she refunded us for the extra services we didn't use and still spent that time looking at his records and talking on the phone with me after he died. She started off with cold laser treatments and now she gets that plus acupuncture. Dr. Bak is a great vet and her staff are all so nice and very professional. Our 3 year old lab mix, Marshall, injured himself running around in May. After several visits to our regular vet and lots of rest, he still wasn't getting better. After 3 months of rest and watching our pup reaggravate the injury, we took Marshall to PAW Rehab. This place is incredible. Extremely clean. Beautifully decorated. Completely designed with wounded animals in mind...down to the details. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Bak did the most thorough evaluation of Marshall I've ever seen and determined that he tore his cruciate ligament. We've now been doing rehabilitation therapy and acupuncture twice a week, icing, and doing small walks. Marshall seems so much happier and is definitely showing progress. Somehow they managed to get Marshall to do hydrotherapy! Our dog despises water! Bottom line. This is a great facility and they are very good at what they do. We are looking forward to seeing even more progress over the coming months. read more

ALL the staff are extra wonderful people who absolutely love pets. The facility is clean and top notch. They offer all therapies you could want in one place. Free parking in a lot. As expected it is very pricey and they want you to buy a package, not just a one time service. The consult is also expensive but it's honestly worth it as it is at least two hours long with Dr. Bak and the staff taking a very detailed assessment of your baby. If I could give no stars that is what I feel Dr. Bak at paw rehab deserves, and I am saddened to have to write this review but I feel it necessary to warn other people who may be in my shoes. My 3 year old cocker spaniel was diagnosed with ivdd this past august (2016) and has been paralyzed and unable to walk since then. We have been going to rehab at ASG since her surgery in august. When we were told that Holly needed rehab every day I looked for a facility that was closer to where we lived in Sherman oaks and found paw rehab because of the proximity to our house. Prior to our initial consultation I called paw rehab and explained Holly's situation. I also explained that our insurance did not cover office visits or initial consultations but it did cover everything else! Prior to our first visit w Dr. Bak I explained our situation and was told that they would do physical therapy during the consultation so that it would be a bit more affordable for me. During our "initial consultation" they didn't do any physical therapy like they promised and I had to pay $225 out of pocket for a consultation which was completely unnecessary. Yes I understand that a doctor wants to review a patient before starting treatment but they had promised me otherwise over the phone. They had also told me that they would do pt with my dog to offset some of the price of the initial consultation which is not uncommon for other physical Therapy offices to do! When I explained what had happened to dr. Bak thinking that this must have been an oversight, she refused to do anything to rectify the situation, she actually refused to speak with me at all! As she was the only facility with an under water treadmill I tried to make it work because it was the best thing for my dog. However then dr. Bak charged my insurance $9,000 for Hollys treatments and that was just for one month! And after she received the money from my insurance she still refused to treat Holly until my "remaining" balance of $1000 was paid off. I explained that I couldn't afford $1000 a month and asked if there was an alternative. This is when Dr. Bak accused me of trying to commit insurance fraud! (Excuse me?!! Insurance fraud?!!) This is after I had already paid $500 for the initial consultation medicines and foods that they recommended for Holly... when I tried to call Dr. Bak she refused to speak with me... the next day i went to bring Holly in for her appointment and i was told that they wouldn't treat her at all until my balance was paid off : ( i explained that i couldn't afford $1000 and i was turned away. It was at this point I tried to go back to our original Physical therapist who was more affordable, she was a therapist who worked at ASG (animal specialty group) and we had been going to see her for three months prior but her office hours had changed and she wasn't going to be coming to ASG as often and we needed pt more than once a week, however, and i still don't u sweat and this next part, Dr. Bak called our old Physical Therapist who then refused to see us as she said our dog was under Dr. Baks care (am I in the twilight zone) Dr. Bak went out of her way to call our other facility and now they were refusing to see us?! Why would anyone who wants to help animals do such a thing? The only thing Dr. Bak cares about is making a profit from your disabled pet! She doesn't want to help you and she won't! I left paw rehab in tears... it was a complete waste of time and money. Meeting Dr. Bak and going to paw rehab was a nightmare!!!!! Do not waste your time with Paw rehab! I gave them over two months to make the situation right before posting this review but Dr. Bak has done nothing! I am heartbroken to know that there are people like her out there masking themselves as "pet lovers" I didn't ask for my dog to stop walking and I've never asked for handouts or expected to get things for free... i asked Dr. Bak for her help and she turned me away because I couldn't afford the deductible... She doesn't care about helping your pet she is ONLY in it for the $. If you love your pet, DON'T BRING THEM HERE!!!!!!! I also find it rather odd that all the other reviews for paw rehab are people who have no yelp followers and I suspect are friends of Dr. Bak or employees of Paw Rehab. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Dr Bak and her staff! My dog has been in rehab for over six months, following a bad dog fight that left him with nerve damage and spinal issues. After about four months we were not seeing much improvement at his old rehab center, and decided to switch to Paw because it was closer. I only wish I had done it sooner! In under two months his progress has been tremendous, we are so thrilled! Not only are we seeing him progress far beyond what his old rehab predicted, but he actually likes going to his sessions. PAW Rehab (Pacific Animal Wellness Rehabilitation Center) is amazing! Dr. Bak and Margaret the Rehab Tech are the sweetest, most patient and experienced therapists you could hope for. Our dog Django was hit by a car and had an extensive shoulder rebuild. He is very shy, and yet they take the time to make him feel comfortable with them, and he is becoming more relaxed and most importantly, more limber with each visit. He's been doing laser therapy and simple exercises they taught us, and he just finished his first hydrotherapy and came out like a champ. Their facilities are cutting edge as well as comfortable. They really give your pet all the attention he/she needs in a calming, loving environment. Could not recommend more! read more

Paw Rehab helped by sweet boy who has had three surgeries in his short life. They left him with arthritis and pain. Paw Rehab helped him a lot and in a short amount of time....but we had to cut short our therapy because of a false positive ringworm diagnosis. . I was not 100% convinced of their diagnosis so I had him tested twice and he does not have ringworm...the tests were negative. The vet suspected a false positive which does happen. Of course I found this out after I paid a fortune in medications, etc. We did find out that he has allergies which we are now working on. He's now working with a new rehab and we are now back on track, finally got him in water therapy and he's doing great. I can't really say a bad thing about Paw Rehab (other then they are a little over cautious but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.) I will be grateful for everything they did for my boy, sad that we didn't finish out the rest of our therapy plan (that I paid for) but he's back on track, back in therapy and doing great and that's all that matters! I know you all will love Paw Rehab and will be happy with your fur babies outcome. read more

When my 12-year-old dog Sadie tore her ACL, my vet recommended that we not do surgery but try rehab and physical therapy instead, with a recommendation for Paw Rehab. Within a month Sadie was able to walk normally and put weight on the injured leg. After 3 months she is doing even better and in less pain. Its clear that Dr. Bak is very passionate about what she does, and it shows in the thorough and compassionate care that Sadie has received at Paw Rehab. This has to be one of the greatest places I've ever brought my dog. Bruno is giant yellow Labrador who is around a hundred pounds and 13 and a half years old. Over the last 6 months or so he began to have some mobility issues with his back legs. I just wanted to make sure that he didn't have pain and really wanted him to be able to have better stability and to be able to comfortably move around. The therapy and care he's received at Paw Rehab has made such a difference you just wouldn't believe it. He's doing so well, I absolutely know this therapy has added so much to his quality of life, and probably has given me much more time with my dog than I would have had otherwise. Everyone there is just terrific. Super caring and very knowledgeable. Dr Bak really knows her stuff she explains things well to me and I trust her absolutely. And my dog is completely in love with his therapist Nancy. He sees Nancy and knows instantly she is there to help him and she takes such good care of him he is putty in her hands! They are very thorough in their examinations and rechecks of him and really take the time during his therapy to give him a good experience. The feeling at the facility is calm and serene, unlike other Veterinarian offices I have been to where it just feels like there's a constant emergency going on. My dog is so calm over there that he gladly drinks water or lays down to relax. At my regular vet he's way too nervous and pent-up to do either of those things. I would recommend Paw Rehab to anybody who has an animal who needs Special Care, because this is the place where they can get it. Special shout-out to Alyssa, Michelle, and Kiefa. I cant say enough about how amazing Paw Rehab is! 6 months ago my dog was severely injured with a spinal cord injury. We had no idea if our Finn would ever walk again. With months of physical therapy and the love and care of Dr. Bak, Margaret and the whole Paw Rehab team our little Finn is walking again! They are kind, gentle and loving. Dr Bak and her team are the most amazing, caring and kind people. But more importantly they are incredible healers. One of my best four legged friends Poppy was injured and had been limping. I noticed Paw Rehab one day and thought I would take her there to see if they could help. This was the best decision I have made. Not only has her limp disappeared but she is back to her old self. Dr Bak takes time to explain the therapy, conditions and treatments in detail and provides a written report which helps when I forget! I was a bit hesitant before my initial consult as I've had bad experiences with these types of sessions in the past. I was pleasantly surprised with how well I was received and how thorough Dr. Bak was during our entire visit. She's incredibly good at what she does and the visit was very informative and helpful. The reason for my visit was due to my dogs IVDD. He had an episode where he got paralyzed in both legs. He was fortunate enough to regain sensation and he's now walking with some difficulties. Dr. Bak and her assistant (can't remember her name which sucks cause she was awesome) schooled me on how to enhance his healing process one step out of time. With all that information, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to remember it all, but with Dr. Bak being so calm and caring, it allowed me to feel comfortable enough to ask questions which in turn allowed me to walk out of there feeling confident that I would be able to provide my dog with the best care possible given his current condition. I definitely recommend using them for anyone looking to treat their pet.
