Came to celebrate a friends birthday and there were actually 3 other birthdays while we were there. It was a Saturday night at 8:30pm and the place was packed. We made a reservation and they were ready for us on time. Masks are required upon entering and they said you can remove when yo are at your axe lane but no one was really wearing masks at all and it wasn't enforced. I will start with saying the game is fun and it's definitely something to try out. Where I have a difficult time is the cost. It's $35 per person for two hours. So for a night out with my husband it was $78 after taxes. We played with 5 other people on two lanes. By the end of the two hours, I had only thrown the axe maybe 20 times. So the price is steep and not really something I would be willing to pay on a regular basis. I wish it was a flat hourly rate for the bay like other companies do and not per person. They have a small bar at the front. I do like that they have a nice selection for seltzer's, beers, and ciders so that's a plus. But my seltzer cost $7 so I cut myself off after just two. The instructors and staff are all nice and very thorough. They offer tips and tricks especially when they see someone who is having a difficult time landing the axe. The concept is fun, the place is cool, the staff are lovely. All great things to have a fun night. Just a pretty expensive night. read more

When I came here the first time during the winter holiday break, we didn't make the smart decision to book a reservation ahead of time. A month later and my husband and I decided to hit this spot up to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What better way than to throw axes for the celebration? ;) We made a reservation and were immediately able to start our training after checking in. An axe master demonstrated how to throw the axes before we started our matchup. I was comfortable throwing it with two hands while my husband braved it with one. Expect a lot of bad throws when you are a first timer. Not a lot of people do this stuff for a living..lol! After getting into the swing of things, we were able to get the hang of it. It's all about good hand and eye coordination as well as balance. The staff was super easy with teaching everyone and giving tips on how to throw an axe on what one is comfortable with. They even have leagues in case anybody is up for a higher challenge. There is a bar there and we opted on not to drink since we were so full from getting dinner before hand. We went on a Tuesday night for an awesome BOGO offer and it came out to around 24 bucks for the 2 of us for a hour of axe throwing. I found that was enough time for a small group and it can be increased to two hours if the group consists of 6 or more people. We had an amazing time at Game of Axes in Boynton Beach last night. I plan events for the employees at my job and decided to do an ax throwing night. Game of axes had a private event space for a minimum of 25 people so that worked perfectly for us. It included a private bar and to ask masters to host our group. Our axe masters were amazing and gave us their full attention upon arriving. They started with an overview of how to safely throw the ax. Then we were off battling each other. Towards the end of our time one of the masters suggested a tournament, which was great fun for our group. At the end, the winner of the tournament got to battle of the axe masters too! The place itself is decorated awesome, and really makes you feel like the lumber jack ( or lumberJill). They do have limited, alcohol offerings, like beer, wine, and cider as well as nonalcoholic beverages. No food is offered but for our private event we were able to bring in platters of food. It was really an awesome experience and everybody in my group had so much fun. I have been to other ax, throwing bars, but not to game of axes before and I have to say this definitely is my favorite! This bar is hidden in a plaza with other small businesses. Limited parking and located in an industria park looking plaza. It doesn't look like much until you open the door. Inside there are at least 8 lanes. Each equipped with 8 axes numbered to prevent sharing. Each group is led by an axe master to go over the rules, the do's and don't, and share the proper techniques. Groups up to 7 will pay roughly $22 before tax. Larger groups up to 25 will pay around $35. Smaller groups will play for an hour, larger groups will play for two. I found it expensive and only fun with a large group. We don't drink so no comment on the drinks. We didn't order food, so not sure they have any. It takes a few tries to get a hang of the throwing, but it's fun. A bit scary when it bounces back or falls.
