So I'm a little late to the axe throwing craze, but I think I found the perfect place to sharpen my skills Looking for a night of fun and adventure, I recently visited Game of Axes in Boca. Although it wasn't that crowded when I got there, it definitely picked up throughout the night. I recommend making a reservation online and signing the waivers and stuff then as well, just to make it a little easier if it is packed. The ambience is pretty modern with an incredible bar and sporty atmosphere. The bartender was incredible and introduced me to one of my new favorite things; mead!!!! They have a wide variety of the honey based alcohol, as well as craft beer, and some wines. They get pretty creative making cocktails with the mead and beer. The combinations and flavors seem endless. As far as the actual axe throwing, Chris (Viking) was patient and thorough in passing his razor sharp skills along to these axe throwing newbs. The games were a lot of fun and the competition can heat up pretty quickly. There are also options to do knife and shovel throwing, as well as birthday and group packages. The overall experience was amazing. The staff provided excellent service and were able to answer any questions we had. My best friend recently got divorced after 20+ years and we wanted to throw her an epic divorce party. Our little group is all mothers (and even expecting one more) so we wanted a fun but low key night for her to celebrate the next chapter while also getting some frustration out after a hard year. Love a good axe throwing place! We went on a random Tuesday and it was pretty empty (which was fine by us!). We made a reservation online and signed the waivers so when we checked in, we got to go right to our lane. The place was pretty cool with quite a few photo ops. The axe master gave us a quick lesson and then left us to play. We grabbed a couple of beers and then went at it! It was an hour of play so we got to go back and forth for a bit. Toward the end, the axe master brought over a giant axe and let my boyfriend throw it (I was too scared, ha) and he through that was pretty cool. Will definitely be back! read more

My family took me here as a Father's Day gift and we really enjoyed this fun & different axperience. Having never been to a place like this, it took our party of 6 a little while to get into the swing of things, but we hewed through those learning challenges quickly with the attentive assistance of our Axe Master (epic job title, amirite!?), Jesse. Jesse was really sharp, had a good head on his shoulders and had a solid handle on the whole process. Ok, excessive ax metaphors notwithstanding, he did a great job of helping us and we had a really fun and safe time here. The set-up of the axe throwing areas are attractive and well-constructed for safety. The bar area is welcoming and large enough to hold a good number of people. I think this would an axcellent place to businesses to bring their employees for team building events. Game of Axes is also a unique and great date night adventure where you can throw small and large sharp chopping tools at walls while drinking adults beverages. What's not to like? Oh, and kids age 6 and over are welcome as well. Waivers must be signed, shoes must be close toed and there is no food available on premise, but you can have food delivered, I believe. What can I say about this place? Well let's begin with Jesse, the best Axe Master that's ever lived. I walked into this place as a sober, axe virgin, missing targets left and right (literally). How did I walk out? I'm glad you asked.. I walked out pretty much as the best axe thrower in the world thanks to Jesse's coaching. He taught me the intricacies of how to hold the axe, where to place my feet. We laughed, we cried, at one point we danced in the lane in between turns, nary a worry in the world. The bathrooms were easy to access and immaculate. The sink was of a nice, shiny white porcelain. I expected worse considering the amount of lumberjacks traversing daily. I highly recommend this place for any event, even just to come blow off steam after work. Bartending staff is attentive and friendly and amazing, It's worth going there just to drink if you wanted to. I am looking forward to improving my skills so one day I will be able to defeat Jesse in a challenge. P.S. I'm posting this on National Pickleball day, and although the sport has gained mucho traction this year with pandemic people trying to get back out there and such, it's just not the same as whirling an axe down the lane. So I implore you. all you picklers out there, drop the paddle, get off the courts, and call up Jesse at Game of Axes and learn2play a real game. read more
