I've been coming to Gameology since I moved to Upland last year. At the time I was primarily a 40k player and found the gaming community to be very amicable. While they only have one dedicated table for Miniature gaming, they have extra boards that you can throw on other tables for more games. (Plus, they are currently building several more tables). I recently got back into Magic after a 14 year hiatus with the Theros pre-release. There was a large turnout and the player base was very friendly while remaining competitive. Many players were also very helpful in helping me figure out all the non-Tempest block rules. High levels of win. The single and box prices for Magic are great. The prices on GW things are phenomenal. There always seems to be SOMETHING happening at this store, and the weekend events always draw a crowd. The shop owner is a good guy who is knowledgeable of WAY too many games. I had a poor experience with an employee once, but later when I spoke to the owner he cleared things up and it's been smooth sailing since. read more

The putrid stench of urine emanating from the filthy restroom is sadly NOT the worst aspect of this baron wasteland of products. They will try to convince you to order out of stock products, and if you do it will be months before you see the overpriced product come in. (Should have bought on Amazon.) If you come here to play in Magic tournaments on Friday, there's a much better place around the corner (Monstore) with free weekly tournaments that have higher payouts. The selection of card singles are either overpriced or out of stock and worst of all, the employees are both misogynistic and rude! I would rather play board games, card games and any other fun activity across the parking lot at the Burger King than here. At least the tables at Burger King aren't falling apart, and the restrooms can't be smelled from the parking lot. read more

I was wondering what all the bad reviews lately were about then I found out they were all being made by employees or regulars at another game store. Not surprised considering the attitude I get at the other place. Anyway, I have been a regular at Gameology for a little over a year now. They rent games out for $10 for three days & the money goes towards buying the game if you like it. That is pretty awesome. They have great prices which is why they are always low on inventory. I have placed more than a dozen special orders with them in the past. Love the staff and the atmosphere. I can almost always get a game in if I want and there is no pressure to spend a ton of money. I really feel like I am a valued customer there, not just when I spend a lot of money. read more

I thought I'd be left on my own trying to find the games I needed and struggling to look through the shelves but one of the employees there came to the rescue! He was very helpful and pulled all the games from the shelves off my list while offering lots of friendly advice. He answered my questions and made Christmas shopping pleasurable for me. I was doing a secret santa so there were specific games on the list i needed to find. Also, every time I go the people here check and double check when I ask for a game that I don't see on the shelves. Lots of tables for open gaming, everyone seems pretty nice! read more

Gameology is an awesome store. First of all, the store is brightly lit, run by friendly, helpful people and has plenty of space for open gaming. Secondly, they have a huge selection of board games and collectible card games. In addition, they sell the latest comic books. And they even have a room where you can rent and play Xbox 360 games. I'm sure if you go in to see what's up with the boardgaming hobby, you will come out pleasantly surprised - and maybe have a new game that provides you hours of enjoyment. The recent upgrade to the new location is amazing! Talk about night and day. It is far bigger and very nice. Fresh paint on the wall, nice floors, separate gaming rooms and 3 bathrooms. The wargaming room in back is fantastic! There is also a high end private room for rent if you have a group that wants a private experience. The inventory is so much deeper than it was before. The owner went to Gencon and brought a ton of new games back. They really took this store to a new level. I am so happy to have a clean and nice looking store to hangout in again. read more

Gameology is a great place to play card games or board games to start an adventurous rpg game or to just hang out and make new friends. When i went to gameology to learn how to play magic the gathering i ended up learning how to play so much more and now i have many more activities i can do. The staff is completely awesome and offer the best service they can and even take the time to teach you how to play the games you want. First experience at the store I attended Board Game Day. I had a blast playing different board games I've never actually gotten the chance to play. They even allow you to rent board games to take home so you can try them out. This is also the best place to play card games since the staff actually knows what they are talking about. Not only that, they are super helpful and nice when it comes to that sort of stuff. So if you're looking for board games or cards for your trading card game of choice, this is the place to go. read more

I found gameology randomly while driving by one day and decided to stop in. It is a lot bigger than it looks. They have everything from comics to card games to board games. I was very surprised at the quality and selection of games that they have. immediately when you enter the store the staff is extra helpful and friendly, willing to assist you in any questions you may have. Great selection of Games and a very Inviting store. The staff is pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. They will help you find the right game for yourself or the right gift for others. The bathroom has a strong smell of urine. The owner is not friendly and didn't help anybody until prompted to. There is a cockroach that lives there too. The prize structure is terrible. Believe all the things you see in the other bad reviews. This is probably one of the worst shops in Southern California and if there is another, that's pretty creepy. They lack any kind of singles that most people would buy and just have niche cards that most people are hardly interested in. read more

Great staff! Wonderful events! I love this place. They special order anything they don't have. Everyone there is awesome. The customers are very friendly and there is a no pressure environment. I like coming here regularly for FNM and casual magic. Stew has great ideas for deck construction that doesn't cost a fortune. Sean knows all the top tier decks and can help you build a great list. Gameology is awesome! The people who work there are very helpful. They give you good recommendations and take time to introduce you to and explain new games. Also you can rent games and play them to see if you like them before you buy them. I really like this place! They seem to support just about any type of gaming you can imagine! We do some family board gaming at home. I came in on a busy night where there was some event going on but the staff still was very friendly and helpful. Pricing is consistent with other retail places. I love this store because it has so much respect for its customers. I have personally made friends with a few of the workers because I come here so often. They always give me the best recommendations for new games coming out like the new Metal Gear Solid the Phantom Pain. It is an amazing game! Had a few doubts but it has become my favorite game of 2015. read more

Wow! What a difference! I was treated so nicely here! No pressure to start buying cards right away and no creepy guy behind the counter trying to hit on me. Very nice staff, casual crowd. They seem to do a lot more than card games which is cool even though I don't play too many board or miniature games. I had a fun time, wish I lived closer. read more
