I've been a regular visitor to Free Play since they opened and cannot say anything negative about this place. It rocks. It has everything! Old school games along with a good selection of rotating pinball machines. Great bar selections and service. The price point is excellent, you get all the game time you want plus access to the cool rooftop area. Free Place is a great post dinner spot or a rainy day hangout.

Great place to hang out! A flat entry fee gets you access to a huge room of various video games and pinball machines from multiple eras.

This place rise fun to take the kids and fun to go with other adults. I am an 80s kid so they have all the games we used to play back in the day. It also has pinball machines (a lot of them!) which my husband loves. Area 51 is a favorite and even tho i have the most recent Mario cart the one they have is super fun.

Tons of retro games and pinball. They have a bar with a great selection. Tons of beers on tap. The parking isn't the best on a Saturday morning but we were able to find a spot on the street around the corner. We arrived a little after opening on Saturday and played for about an hour with less than 15 people in the whole arcade. They have about 12 pinball machines some older games like Pirates of The Caribbean, Terminator, and Black Night 2000. Newer games: Guardians of the Galaxy, Ninja Turtles, Avengers, Star Trek, Star Wars and Mandalorian.

Stopped by this spot after leaving the Bass Performance Hall. In semi-formal attire with some Vans This was such a good surprise pop-in. While looking for parking, I kept seeing people walk in there so I was sure there would be a nice crown inside Plenty of game options. I had a blast from the past with Tetris, Mortal Combat; and PacMan. I even played some games I've never heard of. The also offer drinks and bites; which I didn't partake in. For a $12 cover you get a wristband for free play all day. Definitely recommend for a fun date

Video game selection is good. Lots of beer on tap options that we sampled several. I would only suggest they have more seating in the dining area for people that want to take a break for a snack but continue gaming after.

Finally!! A Ft Worth Location. I've been here a few times now, but both times on weird days where it was not too busy on the inside. Once on Xmas Eve and again on the day after Xmas 2019. This place just opened about a month ago and it is the best thing to hit FW. Located in the Magnolia area, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, so that means you may have to drive around sometimes to find parking but note there is the Magnolia Green parking garage across the street which is free and has ample parking. Once you get here, you walk into a small room and pay your admission ($11 or $6 for early bird special) get a wristband and you are in to play all you can play to your heart's content. They have a full bar setup in the first room which has some of the older games and tables. The second room is where most of the games are located and they have a range from old school to new school games. Everything I played was in working order however if anything does break, make sure you notify staff so they can make sure to fix it. The beer selection is pretty good, they have a good range of options and fair prices. They also have an outdoor patio as well as a rooftop patio. They bar upstairs was not in use, however I assume they'll use it when the weather is nicer or they're busier. Rooftop is lit with strung lights and has a great view of downtown Ft Worth. One of my favorites in FW and so glad they've opened in this location.

    Chicken Tikka Pizza....DELICIOUS!!!

Everything this Gen Xer needed in a relaxing and "take me back" afternoon. A full bar with great original choices at a great price. After lunch we wanted dessert so we asked for a chocolate martini and the bartender was happy to create it for us. The food was fabulous too. I had a chicken tikka pizza and it was a great fusion of flavors. Then...it was off to the arcade where we spent some care free time enjoying retro arcade games and pinball. The music in the background was the icing on the cake! It is worth every penny of the $12 to get in and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. Great way to spend a couple hours any time of the day!!!

I offered to put it in my bag cause they needed it for some medications theg were taking at the time but the only options was leave it at the bar, toss it, or take it to the car and get a free water from the food station. I get not wanting spills but both the cider cups and water cups offer no lids and my kids water had a lid and could go in a bag. Tokyo Station is the sister location to Free Play Arcade, the groundbreaking bar/arcade concept…read more This location used to be a Free Play Arcade but has now been converted to a Japanese arcade theme destination. If you're expecting old school arcade games like Free Play Arcade, you'll be disappointed. If you want to be transported to Japan via Arlington, read on. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Step into the world of the Japanese arcade. As you walk in, you'll notice claw and Gachapon machines tempting you to play and win something. There's Japanese pop music piping through the speakers, and a dedicated room full of imported Japanese arcade games add more sounds. There's also a dedicated bar and dining area. It was relatively empty at 12:30 PM on a Friday. But it's also simply INCREDIBLE if you're into Japanese culture. You're not in DFW anymore. 2 Star. Service - There's a friendly bartender, if you want to order drinks (I did not). Otherwise, you place your order at a kiosk, grab a numbered puck, and then grab a seat. When your puck starts making a sound, your food will be ready at the windows. Heads up, if you leave you table unattended the staff with clean up so others can sit. They're very efficient. 1 Star. Food - Let me first say, if you're looking for the Free Play Arcade experience, you will be disappointed. If you're looking to be transported to a Japanese arcade (me) this place is awesome. The kiosks are very straight forward; you can order packaged ramen to ramen made in house. I went with the Street Tonkatsu. The broth was mild (not overly salty), and the pork belly was very tender. I also ordered the Tokyo Station Tacos. The JBBQ pulled pork was surprisingly tasty, but I couldn't help but long for a Chinese Bao instead of a tortilla. But what impressed me the most was the booth we sat in. It was connected to a monitor, and we could access a bunch of SNES games. 1 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes! Tokyo Station is my kind of jam. The only thing that gave me concern is that it wasn't very busy on a Friday. I hope this concept stays, because it's the closest thing to a Japanese arcade besides flying to Japan. 1 Star.

This was my first time here and I am not really a huge fan. This arcade features Japanese arcade…read moregames and that's just not my thing. There were a few games that were the American version but only a few...Galaga and Pacman were the ones that I noticed. They did have a decent selection of pinball machines...however they are NOT included in the free play. I was a little surprised but also disappointed that pinball was extra... The cost for the "free play" is a little pricey compared to Cidercade...if we are comparing size and what's included. I also think that it helps to have an interest in japanese video games, which I do not. This is a really small arcade which did make it hard to move around and there were lines for the popular games, unfortunately, the overall experience was not really that exciting. The service at the bar was the great, the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. There is a separate area for the free play and the kids working the counter were mostly on their phones unless someone walked up to them.

We are a party of seven and planned to order quite a bit of food and drinks while we bowled. However, our lane kept fouling every single person who bowled. We found someone and asked for assistance and were told someone would come help. Thirty minutes later, no one had come -- not to fix the lane and not to take our food order. A very kind gentleman happened to walk by, and we stopped him to explain the issue. He immediately called it in and asked for the foul line to be turned off. We also asked how we were supposed to order food, and he told us a waitress would come to our table. As he started to walk away, he turned back around and offered to take our order himself and write it down for the waitress -- which we genuinely appreciated. We asked about substituting the brussels sprouts on a platter due to an allergy in our party. He radioed to confirm and was told it was fine, so we placed the rest of our fairly large order. A few minutes later, a young woman came over and said they do not do substitutions like that. We explained that we had asked for approval before ordering and that the gentleman had radioed to confirm. She said "oh, okay" and walked off. Shortly after, a blonde woman came over and identified herself as the manager. She said she was told we claimed to have spoken to a manager. Her tone felt very accusatory, repeatedly asking, "Who did you talk to?" We had to physically look around and point out the person who helped us. She then informed us he's "not even a waiter, he's a party host," as if that somehow invalidated the help he gave us. Ironically, he was the only person who was proactive and helpful the entire time. And here's the biggest issue -- no one ever fixed the lane. Even after all the conversations, it continued to foul every player for the duration of our time. Manager or not, if an issue is brought to your attention and it never gets resolved, that's a serious breakdown in management. With reservations and a group of seven ready to spend money, we expected better organization, communication, and service. This was easily the worst experience we've had here. The only bright spot of the night was the party host who actually stepped up when no one else did.
