Arlington Skatium is located on south Cooper St in Arlington TX, providing the whole family a great day or night of old fashioned skating entertainment! I haven't been here in many years as to when I used to play inline hockey. As of now there is no more hockey and they only offer public skating and figure skating. There is ample parking provided in the parking lot and getting in and skating is as easy as 1,2 and 3! I came here for my kids PTA school event and we all had a good time. Pricing is fair and the ambiance was on point with the different colors of bright led lights being displayed. The skating rink was clean and the DJ was playing appropriate music for all ages. They have a food court and games to play as well and also a small store to purchase skating equipment such as wheels or laces. The restrooms were clean and they have signs posted that it is highly recommended to take off skates before using the restroom. They also have roller blades to rent out as well as the typical old school roller skates. They offer monthly unlimited membership skating as well as events and birthday partys. Come out and enjoy the largest skating rink in TX and take advantage of one of these great deals they have for the community. Overall we had a great time and I definitely noticed all the renovations they updated and was blown away from when I first visited 25 years ago! read more

Very easy place to have a great time Coming in, we were a little caught off guard the price -- $15.16 -- was the same for everybody, regardless of whether or not you were renting skates or not. But, knowing the state of the economy, I was not one to judge. Very friendly skate rental staff who made it easy for me to figure out my size; I had never been to a roller rink prior. I wanted to rent a locker but I wasn't quite sure who to ask or where to go, so we just held onto our valuables. I felt bad for the girl working the food counter because it seemed like she was just having a rough day. We ordered pizza and despite the lengthy wait it was worth it. Skating came with a little bit of pain but still had fun. The padding of the tongue in my skate's got a little off from the harder exterior material and was kind of stabbing my foot. I had to precariously pull the cloth lining and strap it down just right so it wouldn't. This might have been a me-problem since I wasn't sure if my size, or it was just be a rookie skating technique, but specifically in my right heel bone did I notice a lot of chafing with the skate. Regardless, I still had fun. Most of all, I loved the music that the DJ played. I suggested a few songs and a couple got crossed out which is fair, but I also never heard the one that got a check next to it. Overall, good place with good energy. Honestly, the rink was pretty cool but skates should not leave a gnarly bruise on my leg for over a week. Get new skates. The fact that I have an injury just from wearing the rental skates is incredibly lame. I didn't fall or do anything crazy. For this, the place gets a bad rating. Your whole business is around roller skating, so go through the skates and replace them. Guests, Bring your own skates, if you have them. You will be happy with the decision, I promise. read more

I've been to Arlington Skatium several times with my kids. They seem to always have a problem with the air conditioning. When they say "80's themed", they aren't talking about the music ...... It's a nice rolling rink but the lack of temperature control really kills the experience. read more

Wife and I have been here a few times. We enjoy the large skate floor. Went on Saturday 1/7/23 as it was supposed to be 80's themed. Not so. Only 1 80's song was played for every 9 current music....disappointing. Way too many kids with skate trainers, unsupervised and skating in the wrong direction. If you go be prepared to duck and dodge..a lot! Hard to understand the DJ when he made announcements. The rink has enormous potential, but needs some mature experienced leadership/management. May go back again when it's not so crowded. read more

We didn't know about this place until this week. We used to take our 12 year old to Skate Town every week for a fun activity. We all enjoyed skating as a family there. When they closed, we tried Interskate, but it didn't feel quite safe so we left (without skating). It is what it is... it's a skating rink. It was 8pm on Friday night. It was packed. There were just as many "onlookers" crowding the sidelines as there were active skaters crowding the rink. The skating is quite slow because of all the small children that were there on the skate helpers. They go in all different directions. On the other hand you have the teens crashing through at lightning speed. It was overwhelming for me so I spent most of my time on the sidelines. I didn't notice any employee on the rink regulating skate, nor did the DJ make any announcement about proper skating (ie wrong direction). The PA system is horrible. You can't understand anything that they announce. The music is too loud. I'm not just being old, it's so loud it's muffled and the bass is crazy. I love loud music but if they could kick it down just one notch it would be great. We didn't eat or drink so no comments there. I really appreciate that the teenagers have somewhere to go on Friday night. I found them to be respectful and it put a smile on my face to see so many teens there hanging out and having a good, wholesome time. And they were avid skaters! While it wasn't the enjoyable family skating experience that we are used to. I don't have many negatives. Maybe we'll come back on a weeknight and see how it goes. read more

So far we've been here for 3 homeschool skates, and while we miss our normal place that closed we appreciate Arlington Skatium for having such an awesome opportunity for kids to be able to do this! Their snack options are better than other skate places in the amount of items that they have. I also appreciate that they have a private skate room for parties but that is very much a rink for the amount of people they say for a private party 30ish people. The most recent home school skate was held in there due to the main rink having a school private event and honestly there was more than 30 people between parents watching & kids going on & off the rink so more than 30-40 felt like it was far to many people for the size of the room. So I'm not sure how well it was thought out to have a private event take the main rink the same day as homeschool skate. I over heard a number of first time customers used to our previous skate place be very disappointed with their first time here assuming it would always be on the small rink which I did go mention to them it's normally on the bigger rink so hopefully they continue to come. So that is where I dropped a star and I hope it was just a one off. We'll for sure keep them on the calendar for homeschool events and possibly birthday parties in the future! read more

I really wanted to like this place since it's convenient to get to but it's horribly managed and operated. Every last individual who worked there was a teenager from customer service, food court, DJ to the floor staff. My major issue is was the lack of monitoring provided. There were visible rink monitors but they did absolutely nothing to stop or intervene children and adults who did not skate fairly or safely. Several members in my group, including myself were constantly crashed into by unruly kids. We voiced concerns to "management" which was just an older teen, couldn't be older than 20. Overhead warnings were made but the floor staff did nothing to approach skaters to remind them to skate safely or to kick unruly skaters off the rink. Saturday night was over flooded with kids, most parents just dumped them off, those who stayed didn't supervise their kids -- that's not the businesses responsibility despite the fact they are support to monitor safety concerns. read more

I took my granddaughter skating here and I am absolutely appalled! The whole place smells stale as if there is no fresh air circulating, the skates look smell and feel as if they aren't being disinfected which I found to be true witnessing one of the workers there taking a customers skates and handing them straight to an unknowing second customer to wear and the restrooms were absolutely revolting looking as if they don't clean them, no toilet paper, trash all over the floor which is a hazard I almost slipped ! The whole place is ran by children no adults in sight to monitor their work which shows because they were seen horse playing and chit chatting away the entire time while customers waited to be seen at any and ALL of the counters even the manager looked no more than 17! When I went to the concession stand  I was met with the WORST customer service I have ever seen with the little girl rolling her eyes and cutting me off not to mention my food took 45 minutes to arrive and when I saw what I was served it looked to be from the freezer section at Walmart for twice the amount I would have paid!! The water costs money which is ridiculous considering all these kids over heating in here due to the humid air. I am over all disappointed disgusted and would NEVER recommend taking your children or grandchildren to this place this is absolutely ridiculous! read more

They've changed their locker system and this is not apparent. I went to the skate counter to see how to go about purchasing a locker and the dark curly hair guy told me it is all digital and directed me to a kiosk to purchase a locker. I am at the kiosk paying for a $5 unlimited locker as directed not knowing the kiosk is for another set of lockers that are nowhere in sight. After paying at the kiosk, I select a pin and am so confused as to how this works. I then go to the prize booth, where a young lady with dark long hair was standing and I say to her that I paid for a locker and given the locker number but cannot get into it. She asks immediately after if I paid for the locker and I replied yes and then she states that she'll call the manager because she doesn't know how it works. I walk back to the lockers I asked about, the ones right in front of the rink. I walk back to prize counter and asks if the manager was called and walked back to the locker again. Minutes later the manager, low cut black hair, walks up to me and asked if I had a question about the locker. I tell him I can't get into it and he states that I paid for a digital locker. I proceed to tell him how I went to one person asking how to pay for the 50cent locker and he directed me to the kiosk. I informed him that I wanted a locker in front of the rink and he tells me all lockers are $5 so I couldn't get the difference back from the locker I initially wanted and he can give me a key to the one I wanted in particular. He goes to get the key gives it to me but then states, if it not a problem he needs something from me like my keys or "something" because people have left with their key and they just want to make sure they don't have to charge me for a key. So I stated, that I won't leave without the key and I'd rather hold on to my keys and all my other belongings which is the purpose of the locker I wanted to purchase. I gave him the key back and for my $5 and let him know that all of what had just taken place is ridiculous. *Have clear signage. *All employees should be made aware what is offered and what is not that way they can clearly communicate what's offered and what is not or in this case state " we do make the keys for the lockers located directly by the rink easily accessible because XYZ. *All lockers are $5 *Lockers located directly by the rink requires management to hold keys or credit card to prevent XYZ *If management prefers more engagement from kiosk over traditional lockers COMMUNICATE that the lockers are no longer available. read more

Needed a fun place for my family and I to hang out for a few hours! We had so much fun that two hours flew by! It was a Saturday afternoon so it was crowded but not too bad. We didn't have any issues with our skates. The only downside was we are not "experienced" skaters so trying to skate when kids/teens are zooming pass was a little intimidating for my niece who is 5 and my teen. All in all, great time, great workout, great memories! read more

We came here on Cheap Skate night after hearing about it on Groupon and wanted something fun to do with our preteens. Overall it was a good experience. Even though there was a big crowd, we quickly got our skates. The rink itself is in excellent condition. There aren't any big spots to avoid or deep scratches. My only complaint is lack of skating etiquette. Slower people were all over and not just to the outside. Children kept trying to skate the wrong direction. Most of the time there wasn't a skate monitor on the floor. Kids with the trainers need to have a special lane and not skate wherever they feel like. I think if those things are fixed, it'd be 5 stars. read more

The place was too congested. No one was on the floor regulating the skating (you would think they would with so many little ones out on the floor).The sound system sounded horrible we couldn't understand anything the DJ was saying on the mic. The music that was played was not good at ALL. No songs that were played were up to date and we couldn't request any songs to be played. The rink is large. However, the skating area is rarely cleaned, and you leave with your personal roller skating wheels sticky and filthy! The rink's busiest time is on the weekend. They do not have referees skating around to teach people skate etiquette, such as No carrying liquids while skating (yes, I personally saw a man skating with a water bottle), no sitting on top of the skate rink wall, no stopping and talking with people over the wall. No chewing gum on the skating rink floor. We actually got gum stuck on our wheels. In contrast, you have skates on, no skating in the opposite directions, and the list goes on and on. Arlington Skatium needs to have dedicated theme nights at least once a month. 18 and overnight, pop night, old-school night, Christian night. That way, the DJ has a genre of songs to play. The DJ had no idea what an old school song was and struggled to find skate songs from the 80ies. I understand that this is a business, and it shows they are all about the money, not the people who are spending it. The bathrooms are dirty as well. read more

If you like your children to hear over sexualized R Kelly songs and nothing but slow 90's R&B on a 90's sound system, this is your place. The DJ couldn't even play a moderately fast song for the "fast skate"?! Half the games were out of order. The kids size water fountain was still out of order since our last visit months ago. The roller skates for rent are gross and worn out. This place was once the best skating rink in Arlington but has been neglected to the point I'll take my kids elsewhere. read more

This is the worst place I been to. The floor are old, and dirty. Food court was dirty, poorly maintained, and food did not taste good at all. They were playing crappy 80's, and Tip: Bring EarPods Or Headphones so you won't listen to their crappy 80's music! I will not come here again, and I will find a better plate to roller skate. Also, skates here are $20.00 which is overpriced for what you get since you just get basic skates. Also, floors here are scratched so badly, and this place is in POOR CONDITION, and 12 years old girl took my roller skating trainer. She thought it was free, but you need to pay money to get it! Please watch your children because other people can make them fall down and cause some injuries! There are other places that are even better than this place just several miles away! Staff was rude, and unfriendly to us when they were making food that we ordered in their menu. I don't feel like this place is safe at night because there is barely any lights in the parking lot, and add more cameras so this place can be safer for everyone! in Also, staff is understaffed here so expect that when you visit here! Other than that, don't go here because you will have a bad time in Arlington Skatium! Also, hours here are limited, and open in the afternoons EXCEPT for Saturday's which sucks compared to Parks @ Arlington Mall which opens at 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday to Saturday, and 11:00 Am to 6:00 Pm on Sunday's! I'm only giving this place a two star rating because I went for my friend's 80s themed bday celebration and they actually had neon lights in the corner for us to take our pictures under. Other than that, the experience was blah. It's full of teenage employees who clearly bring their friends to work with them. The DJ was clearly just playing whatever was on her own personal playlist. No skating music at all and way too many games played for a Friday night session. Do better! Oh and for the sake of safety, it would be nice to put some lights outside the building at night. We went here on a whim, and we loved it! The rink is huge and very smooth. The workers were nice. The DJ was very active and had us play games while skating. We went on cheapskate Wednesday and paid $4.30 to get in for 2 people. We brought our own skates. But skates or rollerblades are included in the prices on Wednesday ($3.00/$5.00). Come early and stand in line, it gets crowded real quick. There's plenty of lockers to use, and a game area to play for fun/prizes. They also sell lots of glow in the dark stuff and skates. We used to skate at this rink for years. Some of us were even employed here. Personally knew the first two owners. I have no idea who owns it now, but they need to take control of their public skating. I have worked at skating rinks, my children did completion skating, both roller freestyle and inline speed skating for years. We did our rounds with social skates. But was so disappointed with this visit. 1. we had to wait outside for the 1st 30mins of the session just to get in and it was hot outside. 2. So not only did we miss the first 30 mins because only one person was manning the front, but got charged wrong. 3. There were no floor guards and you had a group of six to seven teens skating out of control, skating like they were the only ones on the floor in a speed skating competition. No regard for smaller or slower skaters. I saw them cause a few kids to fall. After a few parents complained a floor guard came out toward the end. But why, he did absolutely nothing to control the crowd, basically just stood at the back and talked with a friend. read more

I've never been skating and not hear one James Brown song all night. ADVICE: Bring your own headphones. I've never been skating and needed to bring my own music but in Texas I do. Oh and children skate the wrong way OFTEN! No sense of this is a skating rink and people can get hurt if you do that. How is it possible this place has been open so long and it's NEVER been cleaned, updated or renovated? I cringe when we get to invited to bday parties here, it's just disgusting. Even the private little party rink is awful. The skates they provide look, smell and feel vintage.... as in, everyone who has passed through that place since 1970 has sweated in those skates. As many birthday parties as they do, you'd think they could offer up at least a little bit of clean and comfortable seating for grandparents or new moms. I decided to come here after a friend had suggested it as a good place for a cheap date night on Wednesdays. Pros: -The actual rink itself was pretty large and was uncrowded for the amount of cars that were outside. -The lockers were big enough to fit all of our items. -Was less than $10 for two people for admission and skate rental. Cons: -The locker rentals and skate rental is right when you walk in so it was a bit crowded in that one area. -The line for concessions took 15 to 20 minutes when there were only 4 of us in line. I'd recommend that you go when you see no one in line. Overall: I would come back again because you can't really beat the price than other rinks. You experience all the same things compared to another rink like it being outdated/dingy and children/adults who don't know how to skate, etc but for half the cost, if not less (Wednesdays). Also note that they close at 8:30 on Wednesdays. read more

This rink is HUGE. However, that also leaves room for many many other skaters. So, if you are not a strong skater or have little ones learning to skate I would recommend their private skating rink. It's smaller but for a rental for parties this is much more ideal. I like this rink, but hate the crowds. I deal with it because I enjoy skating. They don't allow outside food or drinks so bringing your own water is out of the question; which sucks. You'll wait a while for your water at the concession area....again, due to crowds. Basically, if you're down for weaving in and out of kids and flailing grown ups then this place is for you! I myself, don't let it bother me and look at it as great practice to focus on what I'm doing. lol read more

Skating is a dying past time. It may actually be pretty much dead. I don't know. Either way, as Big Wheel, Skate Land, Forum, and that other I can't remember were all going out of business (and probably collapsing) the Arlington Skatium opened. It was big, new, exciting, and not something I was interested in anymore. Fast forward a few years (almost 18-20, I think) and I find myself at school fundraisers and PTO activities. A few have been here. It's exactly the same as when I was in junior high. This has pros and cons. It's still dirt cheap, it's still a giant, wooden rink, there's still neon lights and goofy carpet. It's great. Granted, they also still treat inline skates like a new development, the carpet and restrooms are pretty gross, the snack bar is a sad state of affairs, and the arcade is... well... not worth it. I mean, the last couple decades haven't left it looking too hot. Overall, it's a fun place for the kids. The music seems to keep up with what they think is popular and they can "get away" from their parents. Couples skates, neon, races all still happen. It's a fun piece of nostalgia that seems to be coming back into the limelight. read more
