I am sure you can tell by the name that what kind of store this is. I got my wii, so is planning to stock up the games. First, mario kart, then rockband for sure. I got raman 2 at this place, and the cashier was like " you can put a deposit on rock band too which is coming out on June 22nd". i was " of courseeeeee.". The whole reason i am getting wii cuz rockband is coming out witht his platform. I was debating if i want to pick it up the last sunday. Many people said it's not as fun. they called me in the morning said that the rock band is ready to be picked up. I finally decided to pick it up at 5:50 when the store closes at 6pm. We rush over there and to find out it's 6:01. I was like " please...i am coming to pick up the rockband, and i put deposit". He said " we are closed. well....only the rockband?". I said " YES". I've been to many GameStop locations in the past. I stopped going to many in the past because after a few visits they always screwed me over in some way. One location (not going to say it) sold me their last copy of a game and charged me for a new price. The item was open because they used the box art for the display to save on cost. Problem was when I went home and played the game it already had a saved file on it. This game was obviously not new and I went back and returned it. The manager tried his best to say he didn't know, which is probably true, but that just means poor management and or a deceitful member of their team. That said I stopped going there. Other locations forgot my pre-orders, another one tried to add other things on my bill, another didn't honor coupons. With all that said here is my main point. I started going to this location for the last 4 months now. Staff is great, always have good recommendations, always friendly, hands down know what they are doing. All the other locations took about two mo0nths to slip up and like I said I have been going to this one for a little over four months now and everything is good. Nice store, but I had an annoying experience with the attendant. He asked if I wanted a membership, after I told him I rarely shop at GameStop. I asked if it was "free coupons" and he replied "yes!" It wasn't until I got home that I noticed it cost $15 for a membership. I called back and he swore he mentioned the price, but I don't recall that at all. Located in the Culver City shopping center, it's really convenient. You can walk around and eat and shop and end up at Game Stop! The staff here are really knowledgeable when it comes to all things video games! This store is also well stocked. If you need something, chances are they have it. As a novice to the gaming world, I stopped in one afternoon, excited to both learn and purchase a few things. Having recently bought the most tech savvy Samsung TV, I knew that a wireless control would allow me to explore the game features. Unfortunately, the gentleman behind the counter told me he didn't know which devices would be compatible. He suggested Best Buy. Hmmm.... but I had just been sent here from Best Buy. This customer service boomerang didn't make much sense. But hey, perhaps he was right. So I asked him to show me which controllers were wireless... explaining that may be suitable, and what did he think? His lack of knowledge and more so lack of interest in helping me was re-affirmed by him pointing in a general direction. Once over "there" I asked a question and ... yep now he's just ignoring me. Should I mention that the entire time he never moved from his original position? Because walking is so inconvenient compared to pointing. Compared to the other Gamestops in Culver City/West L.A., this is one of the better ones in terms of service. The store mgrs are usually good, the rest of the staff are okay (I've seen worse). Only complaint I have is sometimes the lines get abnormally long and they seem understaffed during peak hrs. Overall, I don't mind picking up my games from this store. I've purchased my XBOX360 console, all my games, popped in for questions, etc and the experiences here have always been very pleasant. If you watch X-PLAY on G4 like I do, coming to this store is like getting that show live. You can ask the employees basically anything about ANY game and it's like you get your own personal Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb giving you a full on review. Basically you're a hot British Secret Agent named Violette Summer (based on the TRUE story of Violette Szabo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violette_Szabo), run around in SS Uniforms OR sometimes you can get her to prance around in a little nightie while slaying unsuspecting SS Officers. It just released, and there's little to no information about it on line ((BTW Morgan Webb gave this game a solid 3 stars out of 5, whatever man I played it til about 1am and it's seriously SO much fun!!)) And as the employee that rang me up said "Very under the radar" and gave me a kind of background about how it was mentioned last year but disappeared from the market for the longest time only to resurface out of nowhere on April 28 of this year. You know, I can totally appreciate information like that. As a gamer, knowing details like manufacturing, producing, etc is important to me. Since I'm obsessed with achivements, I asked if a strategy guide was available, and although yeah I coulda just walked over to the rack of guides, the guy took the time to search for it in the computer instead. Because there is hardly any feedback publically in regards to this brand new sort of sleeper game, the employees told me to come back after I've finished it to let them know how it was so they could pass that info along to everyone else. Well, done Gamestop. I will always keep coming here. And as I was leaving I get stopped by this 13-year old kid that yells "Holy shit are you a gamer?? What did you get?" And I show him the lime green encased game and he starts asking me all kinds of questions (i.e. gets me chit chatting about GTA's, Need for Speed, Call of Duty, etc) and I'm thinking ...wow how sad it is that I can totally relate in the gaming world to this little kid. And that's when he proclaims "I LOVE girl gamers. Why don't you come over we'll play sometime" With a sneaky look on his face. So that's when I say "Sorry kiddo, I'm old enough to be your mother." Anyway, parking is a pain in the behind, I hate this location especially because of the parking situation. I checked online this store has most of the ps2 games I'm looking for (nfs, mk, wwe & some other series) so I drove there (almost 8miles away from K-town) When I went to the counter & asked for the ps2 games collection, the guy who helped me (later found out he's the manager) straight told me they don't have any ps2 games. I told him that I saw online they have few titles on hand. He told me those are not for sell in the store (!?) & I can only order them online. And he told me he's sending those to different store so he can't sell. Then when I asked about the district office number, he softened a bit & asked me exactly which game I'm looking for. I told him that I'm looking for few games, still he asked me which particular games. After finding out I'm looking for wwe all stars & Nfs series. He personally went through all the games behind the counter & showed me few titles. He was being nice by then. But still he didn't let me see what they have in the treasure chest & finally I asked for one drawer to see if I can find anything & I found almost 8/9 games in one small drawer. And I saw they have 10+ of those drawers. I know GS is trying to 'get rid' of those ps2 games. But keeping them in the drawer is not a good idea I was buying those games for a 8yr old kid. I have a ps3 myself & thinking about upgrading to ps4 soon. But after being treated like that, I think I'll buy that from Best Buy. U can even buy games from eBay or craiglist. The reason we go to retail stores are hands on the merchandise & great customer service. If we don't get that, what's the point of going there? The store is neat & clean. 0 Stars. Sold me a pre-owner controller, got home, no battery pack. Drove all the way back to the store to exchange for another controller. Got home, put in batteries, controller doesn't turn on. Upon closer examination the battery connectors on this model were eroded. Drove all the way back again, swapped out again. Controller works. Only cost me a tank of gas and several hours out of my weekend... FML. read more

The staff here don't wear name tags so you don't know the name of the person who isn't doing their job. I've had them fail to call me for preordered games on several different occasions, and when I asked why I didn't receive notification I was promptly given several different excuses, none of which made logical sense other than to prove their own laziness and/or incompetence. The corporation is a solid one, but this store would make you think otherwise. Do yourself, and anyone you shop for this holiday season, a favor and go to the GameStop at the Fox Hills Mall instead. Bob and his staff there know how to treat customers with respect, and when Marcus didn't know the answer to my question today, rather than making something up, he asked his boss for help and got the right answer. Edward was working at this location. Not only did he provide great service but he also did not try to up sell me. I am not to informed on all the newest games or have much knowledge about PS4 but he was there to explain the difference between the regular game and the game w/ the expansion pack. I was apprehensive at first but by the time our conversation ended i gained the knowledge i needed to complete my purchase. Because he wasnt being a pushy salesman i was inclined to spend more money. I also work in sales(B2B) and there is nothing worse than when someone pushes product onto me or others. Ive had this experience at that game stop before on a weekend. very aggressive teenagers pushing subscriptions/reward memberships on me when i was simply there to learn about the PS4. this ruined their chances of a sale and i purchased my PS4 elsewhere. I did not experience that with Edward, he was treating me like a fellow gamer new to the world of PS4. I could tell he is passionate about his position within your company and the e-game industry and that is what exactly what a niche industry needs most. Someone who is there to guide you into making the right choices so your experience/purchase feels safe and looked after. I would like to personally thank Edward for his service and i would highly recommend this behavior be taken seriously on a brick&mortar AND corporate level. I understand sales can be challenging w/ slim margins and consistent product being released and price points dropping but with more people working like him and representing your company id say your chances of gaining higher revenue are inevitable. This is one of the nicer GameStops that I've been to. The store is nice and spacious and there was a large selection of games. I recommend coming with someone who knows something about games before coming to this store because the employees here are pushier than normal. Don't take your granny here because the employees will eat her up. I remember one particularly pushy employee at this store, in an attempt to sell a special edition of a game, indirectly threatened me by shouting to another employee about how he was going to buy said game for himself. read more
