The PS2 wouldn't play about half the games (which I did test on a second PS2 & they worked). The battery was dead for the clock, which was the first thing I noticed anyway. I took it to a repair shop & wow, discovered half the components were not even the original parts, but they were not new parts either. Looks like someone refurbished it multiple times & it was so dirty, so clearly Rock 30 didn't do it before sending it to me. Messaged them about it & nothing. Basically, half of the components with the interior have to be replaced. Pay $200 for a more than 20-year-old console that doesn't even work. Highly recommend avoiding them!

I don't know what happened to this store. I used to work at the Grand Forks Rock30 about 12 years…read moreago in 2014 and it was a great place to work. We took pride in our service and tried to make sure everyone got quality products quickly. Well now it's a dusty Funko Pop warehouse that looks disorganized and messy. I now live in Fargo and went to the Fargo store to trade in my old PS2 and rare PS2 games. I got a whopping $855 in store credit and decided to purchase a Steam deck because I only really play Steam games now. Well Rock30 only carries some used Steam decks that people trade in. They had a used one at the Grand Forks store. I decided to order it, thinking that it would be the speed and quality I was used to from when I worked at there. BOY WAS I WRONG. It took 2.5 weeks to get from the Grand Forks store to Fargo and when I finally went to pick it up yesterday the Steam Deck was in shit condition. Dirty, banged up case that had animal hair inside it, and the joysticks were worn down. I opened the case and couldn't believe they didn't even bother to try to clean the thing before they sold it to me. I immediately asked for a refund and got my store credit back. I wish I had just taken the smaller cash amount when I traded in my rare PS2 games. Now I have a ton of in store credit for Rock30 but have no use for it because I don't trust the quality of anything they sell anymore. They have very few games compared to what they used to carry. Now it's more of a ton of tacky merch and of course, FUNKO POOPS EVERYWHERE. And Frolf. I have no idea why they sell frolf crap I don't know anyone who buys it. WHO PLAYS FROLF ANYMORE!? And their website has been "under construction" for like 6 months now. I used to be able to look up items and games to see if they carry them. Now you have to call the store and hope the workers will be able to spell and find the item you're looking for. When I worked at Rock30 we had to clean and make sure every item looked as good as possible before we sold it. When we ordered something from another store it would arrive within a few days because they'd ship it directly from one store to another. It's gone so far downhill from what I remember that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore. Maybe for games only but make sure you ask them to clarify if it's in good condition with or without the box art if you order something from another store. I would not recommend getting consoles from them. I guess if you really want Funko Pops they have a shit ton of those so I'd recommend the store for Funko Pops, Frolf if you're a weirdo, and disappointment.

Some of the many services they offer there include selling and trading in used games, fixing and refurbishing used consoles (like the Xbox or Nintendo Wii), and cleaning discs of games, movies and CD's. Plus, amazing customer service! Their selection of games is much more diverse than Best Buy and Game Stop as well. Game Stop and Best Buy only offer games from the most recent release of console, such as Xbox and Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Playstation 2-3. Rock 30 Games has all of those, plus the Nintendo 64, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Playstation original, and more. I was very impressed with the selection of games, from Xbox to Game Boy Color. Personally, I'm not a gamer, but I go with my friends who are gamers and they are highly impressed with the selection, and the service. The employees there are very helpful and knowledgeable about their games, movies and other merchandise. If you are looking for a game or movie that is not in stock in the store, they are always willing to find it at other stores across North Dakota and order it for you. Since I am not a gamer like most of my friends, I mainly go there to shop for movies and TV show seasons that are on DVD. They have a wonderful selection of movies that you don't normally find in Walmart or Target, at amazing prices. So far I have found an assortment of movies that I had been looking for online and at other stores, and I have gotten them at great prices compared to what I could get them for online. One of my most recent experiences there, I found a DVD of a TV show that I watch and collect volumes of, that I hadn't been able to find in any other store except Best Buy for over $20. They had the price as $10 on the sticker, but when I went up to purchase it, they had to look up the bar code numbers for it, and found it online for $7, so they gave me that price instead. I was highly satisfied! It saved me almost $13 from the price I could have bought it for at Best Buy. I give it a 5 out of 5! I really love shopping there, and highly recommend shopping there and trading in games there too.

The customer was on a phone call and was not being disruptive whatsoever, but the woman snapped at her "You can take your phone call outside and come back when you're done." Excuse me? I dont know any store owner who would speak to a customer this way when they weren't being disruptive and had barely walked inside. The owner was incredibly rude, condescending, belittling and acted with a "better than you" attitude. Its a BOOKSTORE, not her own personal sacred library collection. There are plenty of other bookstores out there where the owner isnt an a******. I'll never go back.
