I'm gonna keep this review short, since it's kinda late and I'm kinda tired. So, I went into GameStop today to buy a GI Joe figure for my collection. I picked the one I needed and went to the counter and bought it. It was $30.98. So I payed for it and said to myself: "Alright, I'm gonna get 2 cents back." So I started walking out and remembered to ask for my change since the guy at front counter didn't give me my change. So I asked for my change, and he said in a very snarky, rude manner, "Oh? 2 CeNTs? WhAt, dO yoU WaNT A nIckEl?" I can't believe this. I grown man being rude to someone all because they want their change that wasn't given to them because of a rude, ignorant employee. And he was a new assistant manager, I believe his name was Eric. I know it might sound kinda petty to be annoyed by someone not giving you 2 cents, but come on. The guy basically robbed me of my money. 2 cents or not, it was my money. GameStop needs to hire some better people or train their employees better because alot of their employees I've encountered try to act cool, are ignorant and are just plain rude people. I've encountered this guy many times and he always is rude to me. He also didn't given me full change about 3 times before this one. He's a bad assistant manager and is always rude to people or not giving them their money. Train this ignorant employee better or fire him. read more

Stopped by here last week to get some cards graded since I heard they are a partner of psa who does professional grading of high value cards. Even tho I wasn't there to buy anything from the store the whole staff was very professional and accommodating. Highly recommend for all your gaming and grading needs if in the area. read more

Makes me feel like a little kid in a candy store every time I step into one of them lol So naturally when I am new to an area, or exploring, one of the first things I look for is a "nerd store." lol And GameStop is one of my favorites. This GameStop is located at 18285 Collier Ave Lake Elsinore, CA 92530. Really clean and organized store. The staff were very friendly and nice. I can always count on my nerds to deliver! ha... They have all the cool stuff that any GameStop has; nerd memorabilia, t-shirts, cups/mugs, controllers, headsets, games, and systems. The employees were very knowledgeable about upcoming releases and current game trends. They offered some great suggestions as well. I came here to get a replacement controller for my Xbox at the time. The controller was dropped hard and busted. I was able to find a replacement and them some at this store. read more

I just moved to the area and realized that this Gamestop is much closer to the one that I go to in Murrieta, so I stopped in to pick up a few games. I initially went to buy infinity and while I was there I picked up uncharted 3, the last of us and borderlands 2, as well as the expansion pack for Mario kart 8. I was rummaging through the games for about an hour and not once did any of the employees ask me if I needed help. They were having a conversation that was apparently more important than doing their work. When I was ready to pay, I walked to the counter, interrupting the conversation and asked about the infinity game and how I would go about purchasing it and uploading the characters to the Wii system. The gentleman said "I don't know". I asked how much the game was and they pointed to a bundle pack. I told them I only wanted certain characters and not what was in the bundle and one employee said "I have no idea how all that stuff works". I was dumbfounded that two people that work at a video game store have no idea about gaming. Then the girl tells me "you know this is not a game disc right?" Referring to the expansion pack for Mario Kart 8, I replied, "I understand that, I have the game, I'm purchasing the expansion pack". I ended up paying for the games I had already chosen and just left without purchasing infinity or any characters. This is probably one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, I am sure they don't pay them enough to care about their job but anybody doing any kind of job should have some sort of pride in it. Maybe I'm just spoiled because every other game stop I've ever been to in the United States of America has had something to say or some recommendation when I ask about a game. Needless to say, I will be making the further drive to Murrieta for my gaming needs. This store blows hard. read more

The worst game buying experience ever. I was lied too over the phone. They will lie to you so that way you come down to the store in hopes that you will spend money there at there location. Not only did they lie to me about what products they have in stock they also sold me a defected device/ Xbox. They refused to return the device witch happens to a brand new XBox. I have spent hundreds on the item and can't even use it thanks to game stop. I will be dealings with Microsoft and have to ship my items directly to them to solve my problem. Maybe it was a bad week when i visited this location but i had a very poor experience. I came in a few days before kibdom hearts 1.5/2.5 set was going to come out withbthe intentionto lreorder that and a few other things. I didn't. When I entered the store there was only one other person up at the counter chit chatting with one of the employees about some upcoming games. I walked around the store for about 10mins without being acknowledged, their conversation had turned to loud and obnoxious banter about random things in their life. I could smell the larger employee from the door, and that in itself would have made for a poor review but then about 12 mins in another employye emerged from the back and i thought great i can get some help. Nope. He stood listening to their conversation and focused on his cell phone for the remainder of my time there. I put back the stack of games i had planned on buying that day (close to $250 of a sale) and decided I'll preorder my games somewhere else so another $120 of sales lost. I get conversating with customers, building up that relationship and such, but a simple "Welcome to gamestop is there anything thing I can help you find" from either employee would have still lead to the sale. I could have asked for help but thats not the point. They are in a customer service position. Just existing isnt enough. read more

Question: What is, ultimately, the number one function of a retail associate? To process a transaction. Yet, when I visited this GameStop, the two associates at the front desk seemed obvlivious to this core function. Both were on the phone like stock brokers trying to convince prospective customers to preorder or commit to a potential sale. Not only was I ignored, but I had the feeling I could've stripped naked and they wouldn't have notice. That is the start, but perhaps only the beginning of what is wrong with this location. The desperation is so palpable in the store that is causes a sense of aversion. Every five seconds an Ad plays in the background urging you to become a Pro member. How great being a Pro member is. Don't you want to be a Pro Member? Hell, the only customer service I got was when I first entered the store. One of the associates, a relatively nice girl with purple-hair, cornered me with a tablet, eagerly asking me if I was a member. When did that start? Do you think people like that? Do you think that makes your store look good? No, it doesn't. It makes your store look desperate, as if Amazon is right outside the door threatening to snag yet another customer. But Amazon doesn't have to snag anybody--you're already pushing customers out the door towards them. read more

Usually the staff here is pretty helpful and really nice. But the last trip we made I was looking for a specific Pop and I asked them if they had it and they looked it and said yes. Usually that is the moment when they step away from the cash register and help the customer find the pop. Well nope not this time. I'm tired of goin in and getting Getting badgered and harassed to get a membership. No means no it doesn't mean keep asking and asking while a line is building behind me. Just sell me my games without trying to push your membership or at least only ask once. Please inform your employees to no harass people into buying your membership. It's happened twice now. This location was the impossible to work with. Bought 3 used games there for my Wii U and the games didn't work. So I took them back within the time of return policy and they encouraged me to keep them and gave instruction on how to work them. After now success I took them back and was thankful for the advise and wished that it had worked but it didn't unfortunately. But they said it was passed he return time by a couple weeks and they can refund. I was cool with that but I expected some kind of gift card but they could do that either. Well I HATE to write in and have it be negitive as the wife and I are always in here. Go in today and dealt with Sianna I think her name was. I was trading in 2 games and she asked for my ID. Being at this store and actually working at this store I had NEVER heard of needing to hand over your ID when trading in GAMES. Systems yes, Games NO. So I questioned her on why she needed to physically take my ID and she said it is policy, asked her since when and she said that it has always been that way. I told her I had never been asked for it before and she replied and I quote "that is why all of the old employees have been fired" EXCUSE ME.
