Every single moment of my experience at GameStop was incredible. Firstly: I have been trying to get a PS5 since they were released, but I can never compete with the bots and professionals online. None of the other retailers are forthcoming. Most are downright rude. Not to mention we are in the middle of a global pandemic, so waiting in lines for hours on end with no definitive information is scary! When I heard GameStop was releasing PS5's at 1PM PST, I hopped in the car and drove straight to my nearest location. I was second in line. This is how it SHOULD be! I was second in line and greeted at the door by Brandon. He gave me all the info I needed to know. How many there were, what was included in the bundle, and the cost. Not only was he polite, friendly, and informative with me and all the other people in line, he was also fielding phone call after phone call with the same upbeat and positive attitude. If everyone treated others the way that Brandon treated customers that day, the world would be a much better place. The process was a little bumpy for the employees since the system crashed and they couldn't actually start taking orders until almost an hour after the "start" time. They kept us informed the whole time. They took advantage of the "down time" but doing a count so everyone in line knew if they would be able to get the system they wanted. They also took the time to tell us about the benefits of upgrading our membership. They discussed the advantages of adding the Product Replacement Plan. It was a very smart use of the extra time, and made the line go much faster once the ordering system was working. I also really appreciated another staff member walking the line to ensure everyone was 6 ft apart. If only every retail experience could be as awesome as mine was on Saturday at the Gateway GameStop. Why are they selling "new" items when they don't even work? Even when it got tested, Not coming here again.

I called and spoke with a friendly female associate to inquire about Pokémon cards. She wasn't 100% sure about what specifically she could tell me about the cards, and in the background i could hear her male coworker being very rude and unprofessional to her, berating her for not knowing about the card releases. At one point he must've taken the phone from her without her even saying she'd give me another associate. I will 100% not shop here if the women that work here are disrespected like that. If corporate reads this, I would absolutely encourage you to talk with this man about how to speak to other people and respect women. read more

I went in gamestop to sell a ps5 controller lady check my permit ID drivers license starts staring at my eyes because the dmv got my eye color wrong. The lady then states she can't do the trade because the eye color wasn't right on the id I did some research and there not even required to check eye colors there first of all the id's I grew up with don't even list eye color so the lady just mad probably because I won't renew my stupid rewards program screw gamestop I'm going to game wizards from now on won't ever recommend anyone to gamestop read more

Before you shop here ask yourself do I want to shop at a place that has less than three stars and a company as a whole that is going out of business? I made the mistake of shopping here. After spending 2 hours of my time, driving back a forth, dealing with under staffed and untrained employees nothing was resolved. Sammie the manager needs either needs to be better trained or replaced. When the employee who I talked had to called around to other stores to get help and he said they don't know what to do either. So he tried call t corporate line which states their hours and should have been open but were closed. I now wondering if the regional manager needs to be replaced. When I came in the first time for my purchase sammie and I were both talking about how awful the general public can be and I was shocked that people get mad at GameStop. Well now I completely understand why it's a reoccurring problem. After coming back the third time there was a costumer behind us inline who had a controller that was purchased broken. At this point nothing has been resolved and I would hate to have to dispute this purchase with my bank. I am going to have faith and try again tomorrow hopefully getting it resolved. read more

This used to be a great store, but over the past cpl years it's really gone downhill , the stock is limited, and many employees act like they're doing you a favor by waiting on you if they acknowledge you at all. It's too bad, I used to like to stop in and see what was new, or used. read more

One of my favorite GameStops in or around Portland. Called ahead of time to make sure that what was listed on their website was still available. Sure enough it was and they held it for me until I got there. Smoothest transaction from any GameStop I've ever been to. Super clean store. Good customer service. Oh and their prices on used games/accessories/consoles is unbelievable. read more

Awhile back, I bought a used copy of WWE 12 for the XBOX360, (Which did not have the original case or booklet and was sold to me in a cd sleeve), and when I got halfway through the Sheamus storyline in Road to Wrestlemania, the game stopped working. It kept glitching out and I could not get any further in the game. I called the Gamestop I bought it from, and was told that because it was past the 7-day mark, there was nothing they could do for me. He said I could come in and trade it in for store credit, but that I wouldn't get that much for WWE 12. I now only preorder games from them and refuse to buy a new game from them if the packaging is removed. Once you open the packaging, it is considered used. They open new games and sell them as new, even though they're used. I hate Gamestop. read more

Hate to do this but had an awful experience in here. Lady was extremely rude. Rolled her eyes and gave us crap for not being a pro member. Then proceeded to point out that the brand new game was loose in the case to try and sell warranty on it. Rather than just reach down and grab a copy without the loose game in it?? Trash. Went in here today to get rid of my Xbox 360 stuff and I was very surprise to find that the staff there is incredibly nice and helpful, especially Lauralee! :) The cash value wasn't too bad either. Save your time and money by going here instead of CD Game Exchange. You get better service and better cash and trade value! read more

They will NOT honor any preorders you make at this location. Have made many preorders and they never call and I never get any notification that it's there. Have been told one date for a release then when I go in, I get told it was over a week earlier. Ever since Erica stopped managing this location, it has gone to complete shit. SUPER HORRIBLE SERVICE. Me and my sister were the only two people in the store and 4 different associates couldn't set anything down to ask us if we needed assistance . And the woman who works here , with the short red hair? She needs to be fired , I do not appreciate her attitude nor her sarcastic remarks. Nobody in this store , EXCEPT THE SECURITY GUARD WHO HAS TO PATROL THE PLACES. He is an angel. Brandon or Brian ? He's an Asian guy and he's freaking great. Anyone else at this GameStop was horrible. And then the employees proceeded to argue about how they were "busy" when we walked in. We were in that store for 20 minutes and only the security who doesn't even work there helped us. read more

She is the reason I write this review for a store that is otherwise a standard GameStop. And in Portland, which has more than a few GameStops, this is by far my favorite due to her kindness. read more

102 game stop is the best there the most helpful people up there especially Mark the manager is very good people on helping you out on what ever you want all the employees up there are very good people and they know a lot about gameing it's the only place that I buy my video games and video consoles and I own from game boy regular Nintendo Nintendo 64 Nintendo w1 Nintendo wii ps1 ps2 PS3 PS4 Playstation vita and Xbox xbox360 Xbox one and the new Xbox one s im a very big video game fanatic have been all my life and I will always shop at GameStop for the rest of my life. read more

Just went here for the Xbox1, and a pre-order of 2 Destiny games lol. they were friendly, much friendlier than their counterparts at Washington Square for instance. Shocking really, considering the stark difference in the area. They were helpful, quick and I just can't get over polite. I get SO tired of the I.T. guy attitude.
