Let's start with the positives. There were a lot of people looking for particular things. The staff did their best to help out everyone, but they were out manned. This location probably has the most amount of physical copies of games I've seen. Let's now finish with the negatives. This store is just too messy. It feels like a back of house instead of the front. There were plushies and shirts on the floor. I saw some right at the entrance! It didn't look like clearing the floor so that people could walk was important. Boxes and step ladders occupied more floor space. A family member recently bought a console from this location. They mentioned that the store itself looks very disorganized; piles of games in various spots on the floor, big mess behind the counter, and so many empty spots on the wall that they thought the store might be going out of business. The staff member who handled the purchase very heavily pressured my family member in to buying GameStop's "PRP", basically an extended warranty, for the console. The pressure tactic included outright lying about the console manufacturer's warranty, which is ultimately why my family member decided to get the PRP. Strike one. During the purchase, the staff member somehow scanned the serial number for a different console, and this wasn't noticed until several hours later. Having the wrong serial number on the receipt would make it very difficult to make any warranty claim, whether with the manufacturer or with GameStop. Strike two. Later in the evening, my family member realized that they didn't need the PRP, and called the store to ask about cancelling it for a refund. Coincidentally, they spoke with the same staff member that had sold them the console. The staff member said that the PRP cannot be cancelled or refunded. After the call, with a few minutes of research plus a quick call to a different GameStop location, my family member confirmed that yes, the PRP can be cancelled within 30 days for a full refund. Strike three. Fortunately, with a quick visit to another location the next day, the PRP was cancelled & refunded, and the serial number on the receipt was corrected. Bottom line: Avoid this location. At least one employee there is either incompetent and uninformed, or is intentionally trying to deceive customers. GameStop has certainly changed over the years from just selling games to games and pop culture merchandise from anime, stuffed animals, and more. Though some items are listed as marked down, the prices are high and not seem to buy new when you can find used games online. Service was fine, as we were window shopping. We were greeted in the store and that's all. They have lots of stuffed animals on the floor, pushed against their windows to attract a younger audience and many stuffed in boxes. read more

Wow!!!!!!! This place is a wreck. I tried to preorder a couple games here, mind you I was in line then the register crashed. I was told about 15 minutes so I decided to stay and browse. So I waited and the store started to pick up. In line again and they decided to help someone else. Frustratied I caused a little scene for that. UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am updating my review because after filing a complaint and attempting to resolve this situation through the proper channels, I never received any follow-up, explanation, or response from management. I was banned from this GameStop location under circumstances that I still believe were unfair and unjustified. Instead of addressing my concerns, providing clarification, or attempting to resolve the issue professionally, I was simply left with no answers. As a customer, that is disappointing. What concerns me even more is the complete lack of communication afterward. I took the time to contact district leadership and corporate channels because I genuinely wanted to understand what happened and give the company an opportunity to review the situation. Unfortunately, weeks later, I am still waiting for a response. Whether a company agrees with a customer's complaint or not, basic customer service should include communication, transparency, and accountability. Ignoring a customer after a formal complaint has been submitted only reinforces the feeling that concerns are not taken seriously. I have spent money with GameStop over the years and supported the business because I enjoy gaming and collecting. I never expected to be treated this way, nor did I expect complete silence after escalating the matter through the proper channels. This review is not being written out of anger. It is being written because potential customers deserve to know my experience. If a misunderstanding occurs, if a concern needs to be addressed, or if a customer feels they have been treated unfairly, do not expect timely communication or follow-up based on my experience. I am still willing to hear an explanation. I am still willing to have a professional conversation. However, the continued lack of response from store leadership, district leadership, and corporate support speaks volumes. Customer service is not measured when everything goes right. I was in the store yesterday 2/26/26 at 10:30am. I was trying to use my Pro member $5 monthly coupon. The guy told me my membership expired and that i had to renew it on the spot. I thought this was weird because i got it last April... I even showed him my coupon barcode and asked him to scan it. He just said it will not work. I found that very strange.... I went home and was able to order something using the $5 coupon. I wonder if he is trying to meet quota and so he lied to me?? read more

- Bad customer service - Lazy "Assistant manager" Went to this GameStop to buy some items and was met by this really lazy guy/cashier who claimed he's the assistant manager. I asked the dude for an item (which I know the store had it in stock because it said so online) and he says "yeah we have it but it's in the back and it will be too hard for me to find it" aka "I'm too lazy to help you". I asked if there's anything similar and he goes "probably not" and doesn't even try or show any effort that he would try to find the item or help me out for what I was looking for. Btw, the store was empty! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't your job to help sell products so that GameStop can make money? Mind you, this guy was complaining to customers just before our interaction about how he is not getting the general manager position. He was saying things like "oh I need that position, I need a new change in my life it's so unfair". I went in on Saturday to purchase the new MarioKart game for my boyfriend, and asked the guy behind the counter if it would work with the "old" switch. He said it would, so I purchased it. Came home and did some research only to find it would not work with the old "old system." Took it back unopened tonight, and spoke with Sam the assistant manager who was appalled that the associate lied to me. He immediately apologized, and gave me a full refund even though I lost my original receipt. I went on on the website to order an Xbox 360 Slim console. Unfortunately, the power cord was the only thing missing. So today-- October 7, 2024 at around 11:45AM-- I went into the store myself and retrieve the power cord. However, getting the power cord wasn't the main issue. It was the customer service when I came into the store. The woman working there at this time didn't say "Welcome in" or any type of greeting. She just looked at me--like a "WELL?! Whaddya want?!"-type look-- until I said something because I was waiting for a greeting - any type of greeting! A "how can I help you?" Literally, anything! So then, I told her my problem. She went and got the power cord, and NO kind of apology, or "sorry for the inconvenience!" And then I asked if they themselves do the packaging for the shipping. She said: "Yeah, sometimes." And I asked: "Do you guys normally put the contents of the package written on the box?" She replied: "Sometimes we do." I was so frustrated that I came to Yelp to do this review. My husband tried to inquire about his preorder and found it had been cancelled back in October. He explained to them that he had not cancelled it on our last visit but had been informed at that time that the release date was being pushed back and he said that was ok that it was pushed back. The gentleman helping us was very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible, but he was new so he had to get help to confirm the order really was canceled. He called over this lady that said that she was the one who canceled it (which she wasn't even there on our last visit) and if she canceled it, it was because my husband wanted to cancel. My husband and I both said that he never asked to cancel back in October and was told that the original order had to be replaced for the push back of the release date. We had to redo the preorder for the game today. This is not the first time we have had issues with preordered games at this location. I am grateful to the one new guy who helped us at the register but the rest of the staff was rude and disrespectful. One employee who was setting up poster displays hit me with one while I was browsing the funko pops and either didn't realize or didn't care enough to apologize, the lady arguing with my husband about whether or not he cancelled, and then another employee's backhanded comment as we were finishing paying. He told the lady " it's funny when men try to argue with you." I ordered a game on Gamestop online and selected this location for pickup. I attempted to pick up this order at this location in Oakridge Mall twice, on 10/27/23 (Friday) at 1:45PM and 10/28/23 (Saturday) at 10:43AM, but the store has been closed both times. There was a sign at the front door each day indicating "Sorry Family Emergency Open at 4PM" and "Sorry Tech issues". On the Friday there was a man inside the store who saw me, but ignored me and went hid in the backdoor. What's worse, I contacted customer services and requested that they just deliver the game to me, and while customer service emailed me back apologizing for the inconvenience and said they would look into it, they ghosted me afterwards, ignoring my follow up emails, and eventually cancelled my order in the end. All I can say is that Enrique possesses a level of patience and inner serenity than even Jesus Christ himself. He moved the line along smoothly during Black Friday and was basically an angel sent from Heaven in how he patiently dealt with my boyfriend and I being extremely annoying and asking a zillion questions/changing our minds on our game selections multiple times (and having to get out of line/re-enter multiple times as well). Even though the entire store was in a totally, completely overwhelming state due to the Black Friday crowd, Enrique was incredibly helpful and over-the-top kind to us, giving us the greatest customer service ever.
