I visited Gamestop located on Trinity Parkway in Stockton, CA on Saturday, 4/27/24, around 8 PM. I came here because I wanted to trade in my Nintendo Switch Lite for the Nintendo Switch console with the Joy-Con controllers. The associate that assisted me during the visit was Patrick. He made the entire trade-in process easy. I appreciated his great, friendly customer service. I was able to leave with the console along with two new video games successfully. This game stop is just like a normal game stop but has older systems and games as well as new. So if you're looking for retro stuff they have a good selection. Good prices on the old stuff. A little out of the way on 8 mile but worth it, as stockton doesn't have too much for this category. read more

Do not come here, they skimmed my son's debit card information and made fraudulent purchases for virtual gift cards. The one time visit I made this year with my son he was excited to use his personal debit to pay for his game with his allowance money. The cashier stated it was declined, there is no posting on my son's account to show the charge was attempted and declined. I ended up using my card. My son had sufficient funds at the time but I thought I had forgot to unlock it. The cashier also took my phone number to look up my account for rewards. Almost three weeks after that one time visit, I went to check my son's account and noticed there were 3 unauthorized charges to his debit and depleted his funds! I called GameStop and they told me to file a report with the card service provider. I did. GameStop states that because the purchase was made online, to which my minor son has never ever had access to my online GameStop account, that online gift cards that are issued they cannot provide refunds. I submitted a claim to dispute and Visa closed it saying that GameStop provided them with the evidence of purchase in their favor. I request copies of the evidence and it shows the online order was purchased at 2AM on an android device from an IP address that's not associated with my home zip code. We only use Apple iOS devices at home! I have since cancelled my membership with them and will not be making and purchases in store or online. read more

This gamestop is like any other gamestop. They sell new and used games and All the major systems. But if you're a gamer like me you know that each GameStop will carry different games in stock. For those who don't know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the used games the trade in games. For those gamers out there , what's pretty cool is the Game Stop app. Enter a game title then press search, it will tell you all the local gamestops that we have that certain game in stock. Then it will give you the option to pick up in-store. So if you do, GameStop will hold the game for you for about 24 hours. I use that feature a lot when, I'm searching for a certain game. I love playing RPGs and sometimes they're limited in stock. So Christmas shopping was pretty easy this year. I didn't have to drive all over town looking for games for my kids. GameStop always has deals on the used games so come in and get your game on. They also have a discount card for $14.99. You get a 1-year subscription of Game Informer and discounts on things you buy. Look at your receipt carefully! The associate charged us for a warranty on a game without asking us if we wanted it. Once we got home and noticed it on the receipt, we returned to the store and the associate denied he had charged us, claiming that we got it for "free" because we had used our $5 monthly reward! The manager remained silent, as if he knew that the store employees did this. It makes me wonder how many have been scammed at this store. We realized later that the associate had gotten us to press "yes" on the credit card reader (which, presumably allowed him to charge us for the warranty) by telling us we had to hit "yes" to use a gift card we were partially paying with. The warranty was only $4 but this is not only unethical behavior; it is almost certainly illegal. read more

I went in to game stop to exchange a few consoles and games. I was "helped" by Jaime who straight up lied to me and refused to help and was not even aware of what items he had in stock. He gave me prices for my trade ins tested everything after he found out everything worked and making me spend 50 dollars on cables to be able to exchange everything and waiting about 40 minutes he then tells me he cannot take the items he already quoted me on for various reasons including that he doesn't know where a serial number is. I found the serial number in a minute. He was rude and disrespectful and wasted my time. If he didn't want to take the trade in he could have just told me but he flat out lied and strung me along to waste my time showing off to his trainee. It was pathetic I will never shop here again. Obviously most GameStops are the same, but what sets these guys apart are their grade A customer service. They go beyond to help locate a game for me even during the most busiest hours and call other stores. If a different store has it, they will hold it until you get there. read more

I'd like to compliment Joseph at this location. My son is 11 and Joseph always chats with him about games and makes him feel so grown up! It's so nice to receive such great customer service. I know next to nothing about video game details, (other than the names of them and the ratings), and I can bring my son in here and he can talk with Joseph about details and ask questions and he always takes the time to explain things and give suggestions. Horrible customer service. Called to place an item on hold. Got put on hold for over 15 mins. Think they forgot they had me on hold. So I drove from Sacramento to Stockton to just go get the item since they suck at answering calls. Got HERE AND THEY Said MY ITEM I WANTED WAS ON HOLD for someone else. Well if you would've answered my call you could've saved me my time. I'm traveling from Sacramento back home to fresno on the 99 south . I went out of my way.
