I came here yesterday night with my daughter and some Yelp Elites. I found it kind of pricy in my opinion for the family group pricing at one hour. It was $46 pre tax for one adult and one child. It was alright for me though since it was my first time experiencing Gaming City. To my surprise the price was pretty worth it for all the arcade and games they have. There were games like table hockey, shooting hoops, hockey, VR simulation and interaction, racing games with a simulated motorcycle and race car. I did not expect it to have so many different types of games with DDR and a dancing grid. It just sucked that you cannot finish everything in one hour. We were given a watch to time the whole stay that we paid for. They shined red when the time was up. After the arcade play, we were given each 3 tokens for the claw machines. There were big machines that required 2 tokens and the small one only needed 1 token. The claw machines were so difficult to play. The claws were really sensitive and moved a lot. My friends and I did not even win anything. Sucks. The whole gaming city was really clean and dark. It smelled really clean and the noise level was appropriate. There were bathrooms in the middle of the whole place that were really clean. This place is a must go place for anyone who loves arcade and VR. They have it here in one location, which is right off the train station. read more

Great new arcade in Astoria! Individual prices are a little high, so best to purchase a group/family package, which makes the prices more reasonable. (See my photos for exact price lists/options). We purchases a pkg for 3 ppl for 1 Hr, so it came out to $23.33 per person. (Individual price would have been $32pp). You're given a bracelet to wear. Once your time slot is up, your bracelet will turn red, letting you know your time has expired. This arcade is different from other arcades since it's unlimited play for the specific time period you purchase. The only exception are the multiple Claw Machines at the front of the store: these machines require tokens. Note that at the end of your time slot, each person will receive 3 free tokens to use on these Claw Machines; but there are very slim chances of actually winning something. Also, the Claw Machines require 2 tokens! My niece had 9 tokens and won Nothing!! All-in-all, they had some fun games. There are even 2 VR games. But be warned: if you get motion sickness easily, do NOT do the VR games! lol I was really disappointed that they didn't have Skee-Ball games, which is my fave arcade game. But we had fun exploring all their other games. Customer service (except for the below issue) was terrific. All personnel were very friendly and helpful. They really looked out for everyone on the game floor, ready to help if you didn't understand the games/instructions. There are lockers, restrooms and beverage vending machines. Everything was super clean. Note that the VR machines are sanitized in between players, which I really appreciated. So why 4 Stars and not 5 Stars? Because we had to sign waivers ahead of time, and we were told to show up 15 min BEFORE our time slot, to make sure we check-in Before our time slot starts. Sounds fair, right? Well, we showed up 15 min early, as instructed, only to find out that they are closed! Our time slot was 2pm, and they actually opened at 2pm....so why tell us to show up at 1:45pm on a hot humid day, and make us stand out in the sun for 15 sweaty minutes?!?! Grrrrr....so incredibly annoying!! So just a heads up: if you're going to their first time-slot of the day, do NOT show up 15 min early!! read more

Conveniently located right next to the 36th station, Gaming City is a great place to spend the afternoon with some friends! We went on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all and we were able to play all the games we wanted to without waiting in line. We all got an hour of game time, which is more than enough imo. Afterwards, they gave us tokens to use with the claw machines in the front! Games in the back are your typical arcade games (basketball, shooting, racing, etc.) but they also have some fun rhythm games that aren't typically offered at arcades. They also have a multi sensory VR machine in the back that blows air/fragrance in your face - it's very similar to the Avatar ride at DisneyWorld. However, it did make me pretty nauseous so I would avoid if you are motion sensitive. They also have 3 rooms on the side where you can play interactive games - it was probably my favorite game, but you definitely work up a sweat! They have a worker stationed near the games that explains the games to you beforehand, which is really helpful because there aren't a lot of instructions posted. It would be cool if they add a photobooth machine in the future! read more

Some games need maintenance, like the rifles and some throwing games, but other than that the place was well kept and clean. As a rhythm game player, I had to check out the newest arcade in Astoria. This place is pretty ok, with a wide variety of Chinese versions of games I am alreadyfamiliar with. There is a Chinese dance rush which was fun just for the co-op feature. There are unique games like the reaction time game where sticks are falling and you must catch them. Lots of interesting gimmicky games like the exercise ball you can roll. I just think the pricing is a bit expensive for 30 minutes I believe it's around $16? They have a version of Activate (light up grid that you must step on) that is also quite fun in one of the 2 larger rooms that you can explore. I would not recommend their VR rig in the back with the headset and movie scene- you have to ask a staff member to set it up and it made me extremely nauseous. Also the voiceover in the movie was very low quality. I would recommend this for date night or a small group outing. Stick to the 2 larger room activities and it will be fun! read more

Came here with a group of friends one night just to to try something different than we normally do. The pricing was definitely reasonable. The person at the front desk was very knowledgeable. They had a lot of people walking around to explain 10 games if you have any questions. I love that you were able to basically play various games and unlimited amount of times as you wanted to. It definitely just made all of us feel like we were big kids. Had a blast at this gaming arcade. Upon entering staff directs to the payment counter and gives options for game play. Once you selected the amount of people and the duration of play, staff gives an electronic watch for basically most if not all interactive games within the facility. There are a few VR rides~which my daughter said was So Cool! There's also squid game types of game rooms for participants to run around (the floor is lava was fun). Arcade also has a bunch of shooting games, foos-ball, claw machines. The pricing was decent compared to the ones in Flushing Queens. I thoroughly enjoyed all the games I played. This place is an absolute gem! What makes it stand out is the all you can play model charged by the hour so there's no need to constantly reload a card. They also provide lockers to safely lock up your belongings. They also host parties and corporate events, making it a great group hangout spot. The game selection is impressive, featuring unique titles you won't typically find at other arcades. The shooting and driving games are especially fun. I love the asphalt one because it physically moves and shake you. There are three interactive rooms filled with motion based games that really get you moving, and up front, you'll find claw machines stocked with cute plushies. I've heard about this place from some friends and we decided to come here today for a VERY belated "holiday" party with my small dental staff. The weather wasn't great which ultimately worked out in our favor because it was a slow night which meant zero wait time for everything. I felt like a kid in a candy store! Vivid, neon colors, clean, spacious, claw machines, areas to take a break- I was immediately enamored. You can't be dressed all cute here - you gotta roll through with sneakers and comfortable clothes. Girls, you better put your hair up in a ponytail because you will SWEAT. Who the hell needs a gym membership when you can get your workout on while having a blast! I was gasping for breath while laughing like a mad woman. It wasn't your typical arcade spot- super interactive, often times intense and it really gets your competitive juices flowing so it's great for a group....or a great way to show off to your date hahaha. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The one person we interacted with the most had some great tips and endless patience - turned out to be the owner! I was so floored by his kindness and readiness to help while still giving us plenty of space to do our own thing. Ok, let's cut this novel short - just go. Located right on 31st street where the N train runs, a store front establishment with big googly eyes above the front doors. Your expected arcade/gaming set up. When you walk in the check in is on the left and there's an entire section on the right of claw machine games to win different plushes. There is a VR two person set up, three interactive game rooms and a decent size area with various arcade games. They also have a small party section for those who want to celebrate a birthday or special event, this is right where the arcade area is. They have bathrooms, vending machine for snacks, and a locker area to store your belongings while you play and run around having fun. Our favorite game rooms were the light up floor and the eye room. The eye room reminded me of squid games, the goal being to get all colors, numbers, or letters before the eye turns red and "catches you". The more levels you win the harder that game gets. Unfortunately the third game room was not working. They also have a dart game, basketball shooting stations, and target shooting game. You pay per person, per hour and receive a bracelet that stays green, turns blue when you have about 10 minutes left, and then red when you run out of time. There are staff around the area to help and to keep an eye on red bracelets, letting you know your time is up and to please return to the front. We paid right under $64 for an adult and child for one hour of unlimited games, which included access to everything in the place. They gave us the locker for free but otherwise it's a $4 rental charge. For the claw machines, you get tokens to play. Some machines take 2 and some 3 tokens. We went during the first month of their opening and they gave us 5 free tokens per person. We arrived around 130 and it started getting busier as the afternoon went on, which means more people = more wait times to get on a game. I do recommend for those with adolescent kids for a fun time on a cold, rainy, or snowy day. read more

There are claw machines, arcade games, and the most unique are the group interactive games. They have rooms with games such as a spy game where you have to touch all the targets on the walls before the evil eye turns red, an interactive minigame room, and a floor is lava type game where you can only jump on the blue tiles & avoid red (a true workout) to get to the next level, etc. Overall, 100% worth a visit!!! Came here on a Saturday evening to kill some time before dinner. It was fairly busy but not so packed that we had to wait for any games. They're currently doing a grand opening promotion until February 7 where you can get 5 free tokens for every ticket purchased. 1 hour of game time costs $32 and includes all the arcade games, VR games, and the two big game rooms. Lockers are available for your bags/jackets. When you buy your admission, they give you a wristband, and the light changes from green to red once your time is up. There's a wide range of arcade games like the standard shooting games, basketball, darts, and car racing. The car racing moves around like a motion ride which I was not expecting - but it was really fun! There are two VR sets monitored by a staff member. You sit in a chair with the VR headset and the chair moves around. We tried the roller coaster and the dinosaur game. There are also two big game rooms that are interactive with the floor. We only tried the grid room. You will definitely break a sweat running around! We used our free tokens at the claw machines, where we won some keychains and a stuffed animal! read more

If you review this space you can get 5 free tokens on the spot. They also give you tokens during the grand opening too. They hooked me up with a free locker so I wouldn't carry anything around. It was great! I felt like this place is a version of Dave and Busters except this one has rooms where you play AR games. The rooms didn't really have instructions so it was quite confusing. While the interactive games are very different and mfun, this place is grossly overpriced and not worth it. $64 for two junior gamer 2 hour passes was fine but when we got there the girl at the front asked "well where is yours?" I said that I didn't plan on playing and she said "well it's basically your admission so if you don't plan on sitting upfront the whole two hours you have to pay". So there went another $55. It would have been nice if it was mentioned on the website that everyone needs a pass, playing or not. Not only that, the claw games are an additional charge and conveniently located on your way in and out. Smart on their part to be honest. 1 hour is more than enough time to spend here. My 9 year old, who very much loves any type of video games, was done after an hour. Also, to get snacks you have to use coins and get them from a claw machine. Another money grab. In the winter, you don't need to worry about carrying around your jacket as there are lockers that you can store them in as well as any other things you have (bags, water bottle, etc.) In addition, they also host parties and company get togethers. Took my godson and his friend who looks like the 12 year old version of Gilligan to gaming city in Astoria so they can get their arcade gaming on and to be honest , I had a blast as well . So many arcade games and many other cool colorful games you can play solo or in groups but my favorite is air hockey which little Gilligan is a pro as he scored non stop against my sorry self . Very spacious and I think all the bright colorful games is really all the lighting you need . You can book space for birthday parties and other kids events. Little hoops and some darts and Gilligan Jr had me going asap to the sitting area to deal with my terrible aim . I had fun , the boys had fun , didn't cost that much and I won a prize from the claw machine that's worth about 3 bucks after investing 10 bucks to win .I want a rematch little Gilligan on our next visit which I promised to my godson and I want to see proof of your age . 4.5 stars for gaming city and much respect to the friendly staff . read more
