For a place that calls itself a NY Deli, this was unfortunately a pretty bad imitation of a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. Totally flavorless with floppy bacon and unmelted cheese. Service was good and the restaurant was clean however.

I was craving a sandwich. So I went to check this place out. Other than the parking this place a good. Bread nice and crispy and buttery. I had a breakfast sub called the crew. Sausage, egg, and cheese sub and it was good. Lots of seating if you wanna chill and enjoy your sub. Friendly customers service. Over all a good place on my part.

If it says NY Deli in a place other than NY, I gotta see if it has the chutzpah to stand up to a real NY deli. Since the beef in Omaha stands out, I'm hoping that quality is in the pastrami. Since we were going home to NYC that day, I wanted to buy a couple of sub sandwiches for the plane ride (and for the smell of pastrami to fill the plane, while the other passengers just get chips, nuts & cookies to snack on ;). But we were getting hungry when we got to the airport, so we broke out our sandwiches in the terminal, ate half and saved the rest for later. The sandwiches were decent, but not outstanding. Quality seems like half way between Subway and a NYC neighborhood deli. My wife got the Corned Beef Reuben on marbled rye bread with melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut & spicy mustard. My Taxi Driver sub was OK with thin slices of pastrami, pepper jack cheese, onions and jalapenos. I was expecting the sandwich to be more stuffed though, but the taste wasn't bad. It's certainly no Katz's Deli, but it was good for an in-flight travel meal.

Checked out this place after my husband raved about it. The meet and cheeses are sooooooo fresh tasting! The variety of the menu is great! Definitely has fast food, deli vibes if you like that.

The sandwiches are to die for! Amazing flavor, excellent sandwich meat and the servings are far from skimpy! Oh my gosh, the potatoes salad tasted like a delicious family recipe Thats been passed down for generations not your usual gross too much mayo - store bought potatoes salad. The cole slaw was also so delicious & fresh with huge crunch to the cabbage (in a good way! No one likes soggy Cole slaw!) My daughter had a plain turkey on white bread warmed up. As simple as her sandwich was, it truly let you taste how delicious their bread is! Thank you for leaving my family and I filled ALL day with your incredible sandwiches!

If you're looking for a NY-style sandwich, this place hits the spot. The menu is HUGE, and so are the sandwiches. There are options to please everyone. The cherry on top? The fountain soda has the PERFECT level of carbonation. A huge win for this Diet Coke queen. Skip JJ's next door and come here for a real sandwich!

Walked in right at opening so we were the only ones there. Service was fast and friendly. Our son, 13 months, loved all of the pictures on the wall and statues inside. For breakfast this was delicious, the Kaiser buns were so soft, the sausage was super tasty, after the sandwich sat in the wrapping for a few minutes the cheese melted to perfection. My wife also got an everything bagel which she claims was the best part, super soft and savory and the cream cheese on top was perfect. We can only speak on breakfast here but it was amazing.

We were in Omaha from out of town and this place was just around the corner from our hotel. We were there on a Saturday around lunch hour and there was no one there but that could have been weather related, it was freezing out. The food was really good, the pizza was the best! I always have a hard time finding decent gluten-free bread in this place was actually really good for that. The only thing I would say is that I asked for hot and it looks like it had been heated up at one point but my sandwich was cold when I got it.

This place has a huge menu of all great kinds of sandwiches. I had the second City hotdog with all the fixings and it was great & very filling I also ordered the "Little Italy" which had a perfect combination of Ham, Salami, pepperoni and all the fixins to make a well balanced, fresh, great tasting sandwich on an excellent bread. Ambiance was nice... I particularly appreciated the oldies playing in the background while i was there (a little Sam Cooke, little Jimmy Buffet.)

Questionable going to a NY deli in Omaha...but theses sandwich's were really good. We got the egg salad and the Rueben. Both very good.

    Sandwich menu!!

I love a good sandwich place! and this place did not disappoint! I liked how their menu was split up by type of meat, so the large menu was easily broken down. Ordered the sandwich at the counter and sat down and food was not too far behind. I was here with a couple different people and we all got different sandwiches and they were all great.

Inside the Paxton Hotel is a deli with a huge variety of great sandwiches. They come with lots of meat on fresh bread, hot or cold. The service was lightening fast. We had the pastrami on rye, turkey sub,and French dip. They were all excellent. They also had fresh made sour cream potato salad which is awesome.

This is a super cool place to grab a sandwich in Omaha. When you 1st walk in, it feels like there is a ton of history. Ambiance - a lot of memorabilia on the walls and pretty cool stuff to check out.. had that old style type Italian Deli atmosphere... super nice. Food- the menu is huge. Menu attached. I ordered the HOT Turkey Holland... super delicious... the flavor was very satisfying.... Highly recommended. Can't wait to go back and try another type sandwich. The service was friendly and fast. No issues. Order was correct and sandwich was nicely prepared. Highly recommend

Friendly service, comfy setting, and oh yeah - the food! Unfortunately for me, there is too much seafood on the menu but there's always something. People rave about the seafood dishes so I'll trust them and say it must be good. I'm just not into it. On this visit, we each ordered a cocktail. I decided to try the lemon martini which I never order and OH MY GOODNESS. It was awesome! They nailed it. The limoncello brought it home. My dining partner had a dirty martini and was satisfied as well. We enjoyed a Spezia salad which featured mixed greens, prosciutto, tomato, Kalamata olives, and a house vinaigrette. It all combined so well. The lettuce was wonderfully fresh, no need to pick out rotting leaves like some places. The dressing was simply light and delish. We shared a plate of spaghetti. You get several options to add to it. The grilled spicy Italian sausage sounded good. I'm not sure which was better. The sausage or the marinara sauce. Both were soooooo good!! The sausage was truly grilled and spicy and just amazing, and it was not greasy either. The marinara sauce challenged my own that I make at home. We devoured that plate of spaghetti which was big enough to share. I forgot to take a picture as it was served so I am sharing a tight shot of half the order after we divided it.

Spezia, you let me down!…read more Our waiter struggled to keep up with the dinner rush. We arrived for our reservation and were seated at 6:40 where we weren't greeted by our waiter for quite awhile. It took a long time to get our drinks and I had to ask for bread so we decided to skip appetizers and go straight to our entree. When ordering the entree our waiter said "and which salad would you like?" And then listed the salad options. Normally when ordering a main and the waiter says which salad do you want that's because the salad comes with the meal. Nope. We were charged $11 per salad that we didn't even really want. The salads were your average side salad, but thankfully had good dressings. We hadn't brought up salads, the waiter did when we ordered our entree. So we were disappointed to have $20+ in salads that we didn't request until the waiter offered them. Our salads were finished for at least 15 minutes before our main entree came out at about 7:30, nearly an hour after we had been seated. My shrimp scampi was good, the broccolini was a touch under cooked but the flavors were still good, and the shrimp was surprisingly large in size and cooked exactly how it should be. Had we been served quicker and not offered things that didn't come with our meal when ordering our meal we may have been happier, hard to say. The table next to us was sat about 10 minute after us and had a different waitress. They received their entire meal (including bread & apps) and left before we were offered dessert. The food is good, I won't discredit that at all. But when coming to a restaurant like this you are expecting a level of service that we just didn't get. I'm sure we'll try again in the future and if service is better I will definitely update my review but for now, this was a let down of a birthday dinner.

For the main course, I had the penne bolognese fiorna, and it was flawless (rich, fresh, and a generous portion). My better half went for the Big Vinny Combo (chicken parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo, baked lasagna). Everything hit except the Alfredo needing a touch more salt... though she definitely didn't need any help enjoying those glasses of wine. Based on the food alone, this easily could have been a 4-star experience. Unfortunately, the service made us feel like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. We didn't have a reservation, and I completely understand that it was a Friday around 6 p.m. in a small restaurant near the Old Market. We fully expected we might have to wait. Instead, we were told, "Well, all I have is this table for two, but I need it by 7." It was about 5:45, so we said that was totally fine and we'd easily be finished by then. From that point on, though, it felt like the clock was ticking. We were seated and immediately given water, which was great, but we already felt rushed so we quickly chose a pizza and focaccia to split. Once the food arrived, the check-ins became frequent enough that it was hard not to notice. As soon as we took the last piece of focaccia, the board was whisked away. As soon as we took the last piece of pizza, that was cleared too. The check came almost immediately. We were in and out in about 30 minutes...roughly 45 minutes before they actually needed the table. Take that for what it's worth, positive or negative. I want to give a lot of grace because it was a busy Friday night, but the overall atmosphere from the service, including a hostess who seemed visibly unhappy much of the time, kept this from being a four-star experience for us. The food is absolutely worth having again, but next time we'd probably choose carryout so we can enjoy it without feeling like a nuisance for being there.
