BLT + egg and avocado sandwich

We went on a super busy day and it was busling!! There is an online waitlist which I would absolutely recommend using. It's a pretty big space with lots of tables for large parties. When it's full it's LOUD! If you're someone that gets over stimulated try to find a off time to visit. They source some of their ingredients locally (le quartier bread, archetype espresso, artemis tea, etc.) The food was good. The house salad was shaken up so the dressing fully coated which is nice! I got the BLT with the egg and bacon on the side and swapped the chips side for potatoes. It was a pretty good value for all the food you got. It was fresh and pretty good. Blackstone is still full of construction but it's totally manageable. There's a few open parking garages now which makes parking easier.

Everything looked good I couldn't decide what to get but I went with the Reuben and was not disappointed! The poptart is a must order, you won't regret it. Update: returned twice now and the breakfast is amazing. Service was friendly and fast.

Ordered breakfast off of DoorDash. Everything was delicious. I had the Granola yogurt with fresh fruit and honey. The granola was so good. And I had a side of sausage patties, yum. The iced caramel latte was good but a bit too milky not enough coffee. But DoorDash doesn't give you the option to add an extra shot of espresso. The flavor was still good.

Our first time visiting and what a great experience! Dylan was our server and very patient with my children as they are learning to order themselves. Dylan was awesome at stopping back and checking in on us, making sure we had the accommodations we needed for our meal. The honey bee latte is a must try! I quickly learned it is a signature. The atmosphere was upbeat and gave off fresh, welcoming vibes.

We chose to eat breakfast here because there was an online waitlist and with the holiday weekend everywhere was busy on a Sunday morning. When arriving at the restaurant, we checked in while being 2nd in line (we were originally told a 15 minute wait but it ended up being 55 minutes) and were told it would still be a bit of a wait. Outside there were several tables open but we weren't given the option to sit outside. You would think they'd be offering every table with how busy they were. I asked to sit outside due to the noise volume inside being extremely loud. After being seated, we weren't waited on for another 5-10 minutes. The drinks we ordered were fine... the PiñaRita tasted like straight up coconut milk. The food was honestly mid. It didn't have a ton of flavor unfortunately. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

I was finally able to try HomeGrown in Blackstone today, and I am happy to report it was a very good experience. The restaurant was busy when I arrived around noon but I was able to find a set at the long breakfast bar. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, A + for service. The restaurant itself is very open with a lot of booths with tables in the center and the aforementioned bar on the right. The have coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, baked goods, and brunch type drinks like mimosas. I opted for the build your own breakfast which includes two eggs, a meat, rosemary potatoes, and a biscuit, but I substituted a buttermilk pancake for the biscuit. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sausage was homemade, the guy at the bar said it came from a local iowa producer, it was very tasty. The potatoes were really nice, and the pancake was very light and fluffy. The portions weren't huge, but I didn't leave hungry, the pancake was actually pretty small, but it was good, so I didn't care too much. The menu has a good variety, there were plenty of breakfast and lunch items that looked great.

Great breakfast spot located across the street from the hotel we were staying at, Cottonwood. Given a choice between breakfast at the hotel or this place, I think this place is much better. Might be a little cheaper too. Food was delicious, portions were generous for breakfast, and service was friendly. Didn't take photos of our main dishes but we ordered salsa verde with egg and west coast omelet. I think this place opened recently, in the past year or two, so everything looks new and clean. Great way to start the day! Would definitely return!

Great portions and quality. Nice location, quick wait time, kind service. Always a hit.

Yes! All the buzz about HomeGrown is warranted! Starting with the Honey Bee Latte! Is is excellent complete with bee art. The restaurant was hopping on a Sunday and we put ourselves on the waitlist from the warmth of our hotel. It was cold & beyond blustery that March morning. An Online waitlist option is highly Valuable to me when choosing dining destinations. Service was great Food was great Location was relatively loud. Not a problem for us & a sign of many groups enjoying food & company on a Sunday morning.

Wow. Homegrown is definitely a go-to brunch spot. The wait on a Saturday was about 20-40 minutes, however my hubby and I were fortunate and snagged a seat at the bar immediately. Service was impeccable. Alex took our drink orders right away, our blueberry pop tart was also given to us in a quick manner and our food did not take long either. The restaurant is huge. The food was absolutely delicious. I'll start with our drinks. We loved the coffee. It was so smooth and flavorful that we drank it with no added sweeteners. The mimosa was delightful and made with fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne. The balance between the two were perfect. The blueberry pop tart was a yummy treat to start with. Oh man.. the filling in that thing is packed with flavor. Highly recommend. It comes out slightly warmed up too. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. My husband got the salsa verde pork and egg. Both dishes were to die for. I'd totally order them again. The biscuits were almost like a soft corn bread texture like cake. The gravy was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Same goes for the pork and egg dish. Oh my gosh. So delightful. You can tell they use fresh and great quality ingredients in their food. I love the slogan of their restaurant and their theme. Which is cultivate kindness. The employees wore shirts that said "kind people are our kind of people" on the back. I just love that so much. They also sell kindness books and merch. So fun and thoughtful. Thanks to the amazing Homegrown team. My family and I will definitely be back for a yummy meal.

I had a day to myself until I flew home so decided to go to brunch. I walked in & it was so cute. Everyone was very nice. I went on March 8 & my server was very helpful on suggesting food & things to do that day. The manager also talked with me a bit to suggest food. I had the avocado BLT & it was delicious. The atmosphere so welcoming. If you are ever in Omaha check them out.

I had previously visited HomeGrown in Kansas City, so I was very excited when they opened up in Omaha. My husband and I took a rare baby-free trip downtown for breakfast on Monday, and we were pleasantly surprised to have no wait! The location is very clean and bright. Our server was super polite and attentive and definitely kept our table clean and coffee hot. We started with the coffee cake and a popped heart. These were both delicious. I particularly loved the warm icing on the popped heart. For our meals, my husband tried the breakfast meatloaf (a seasonal special,) and I had a traditional breakfast. These were honestly just okay. I will say my english muffin was perfectly dense and buttery - yum! But everything else was lacking in flavor (especially the grits, which was a big disappointment.) I can't say I wouldn't return, but I don't think I'd go out of my way again to stop by.

Served with a side of fries and a pickle spear. I love pickles but this pickle tasted odd, closer to a butter pickle than a dill. The fries were delicious, I believe they are twice fried making a wonderful crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. The Rachel was fine. The rye bread tasted a bit stale, and the turkey was centered in the sandwich to make the cut cross section look loaded but then making 1/3 on each half just bread. Minimal sauerkraut and very little thousand island made it pretty dry. Based on the food would have rated my experience lower but I've had The Rachel before and it was amazing so this must have been an off day. Restaurant is decorated in a beautiful color palette. The mustard plush benches are pretty but not plush, I learned the hard way as I plopped down. It was surprisingly muggy inside the restaurant for a 70 degree day. The service was adequate and the restaurant and hotel were stunning as always.

You can get better, more authentic food at literally any taco truck in South Omaha at less than half the price per taco. This just didn't feel worth the money and we ended up going across the street for dumplings immediately following dinner because *nobody finished anything*. Nothing really stood out as special, which is disappointing considering each individual taco you order is $5-6. - shrimp and bacon: well seasoned and that aioli really complemented the shrimp. Not impressed that it only had 3 shrimp on it and I'm not sure if bacon was added. - Mushroom: ... this one was everybody's least favorite. It was DRY and tasted like smoke. Nothing was added to give it some moisture and it felt like an attempt to make a mushroom taste like meat but it didn't go well. - carnitas and chicken: both of these fall into the same category of nothing to write home about but meet what you'd expect. - Brisket: this one was the best of the day, hands down. I wouldn't say it saved the evening but it was the best meat on the menu. Only note was it made the single tortilla really wet so as soon as I picked it up the tortilla ripped in half. Not complaining about it though as it was the only thing that felt worth the money. - seared tuna: also shockingly dry?? It's barely cooked, how is it dry??
