We went on a super busy day and it was busling!! There is an online waitlist which I would absolutely recommend using. It's a pretty big space with lots of tables for large parties. When it's full it's LOUD! If you're someone that gets over stimulated try to find a off time to visit. They source some of their ingredients locally (le quartier bread, archetype espresso, artemis tea, etc.) The food was good. The house salad was shaken up so the dressing fully coated which is nice! I got the BLT with the egg and bacon on the side and swapped the chips side for potatoes. It was a pretty good value for all the food you got. It was fresh and pretty good. Blackstone is still full of construction but it's totally manageable. There's a few open parking garages now which makes parking easier. read more

Quintessentially Not Bad Omaha Great atmosphere, lighting is incredible and the decor looks nice. But the food is slightly better than mediocre. Good thing is that you don't leave with a bad taste in your mouth because the pricing is very reasonable. Overall very muted flavors. Nothing really stands out but nothing tasted bad either. Analogous to how Olive Garden tastes against authentic Italian food. Overall texture was poor. Coffee: 2.5/5. Doesn't taste bad but rides the border of too diluted. Comes in a big coffee pitcher. Coffee Cake: 2/5, very dry and sweet with no coffee taste. Caramel is required. Blueberry Pop'd Heart: 4/5. This was the only thing that we thought was actually good. The blueberry filling was the perfect amount and it was tart which contrasted nicely with the frosting. Corned beef hash: 3/5. Potatoes weren't crispy at all. Didn't taste the rosemary in the potatoes. The most texture from this dish was the corned beef which was slightly chewy. Gimme Meats Omelet: 3/5. Omelette didn't have much flavor so it really required the gravy which was the only thing that tasted nice. For the title being called "Gimme Meats" there was not much meat. We chose to eat breakfast here because there was an online waitlist and with the holiday weekend everywhere was busy on a Sunday morning. When arriving at the restaurant, we checked in while being 2nd in line (we were originally told a 15 minute wait but it ended up being 55 minutes) and were told it would still be a bit of a wait. Outside there were several tables open but we weren't given the option to sit outside. You would think they'd be offering every table with how busy they were. I asked to sit outside due to the noise volume inside being extremely loud. After being seated, we weren't waited on for another 5-10 minutes. The drinks we ordered were fine... the PiñaRita tasted like straight up coconut milk. The food was honestly mid. It didn't have a ton of flavor unfortunately. I reviewed Home Grown when they first came to Omaha. It continues to be a great breakfast/brunch/lunch place. I was finally able to try HomeGrown in Blackstone today, and I am happy to report it was a very good experience. The restaurant was busy when I arrived around noon but I was able to find a set at the long breakfast bar. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, A + for service. The restaurant itself is very open with a lot of booths with tables in the center and the aforementioned bar on the right. The have coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, baked goods, and brunch type drinks like mimosas. I opted for the build your own breakfast which includes two eggs, a meat, rosemary potatoes, and a biscuit, but I substituted a buttermilk pancake for the biscuit. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sausage was homemade, the guy at the bar said it came from a local iowa producer, it was very tasty. The potatoes were really nice, and the pancake was very light and fluffy. The portions weren't huge, but I didn't leave hungry, the pancake was actually pretty small, but it was good, so I didn't care too much. The menu has a good variety, there were plenty of breakfast and lunch items that looked great. read more

Wow. Homegrown is definitely a go-to brunch spot. The wait on a Saturday was about 20-40 minutes, however my hubby and I were fortunate and snagged a seat at the bar immediately. Service was impeccable. Alex took our drink orders right away, our blueberry pop tart was also given to us in a quick manner and our food did not take long either. The restaurant is huge. The food was absolutely delicious. I'll start with our drinks. We loved the coffee. It was so smooth and flavorful that we drank it with no added sweeteners. The mimosa was delightful and made with fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne. The balance between the two were perfect. The blueberry pop tart was a yummy treat to start with. Oh man.. the filling in that thing is packed with flavor. Highly recommend. It comes out slightly warmed up too. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. My husband got the salsa verde pork and egg. Both dishes were to die for. I'd totally order them again. The biscuits were almost like a soft corn bread texture like cake. The gravy was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I particularly loved the warm icing on the popped heart. For our meals, my husband tried the breakfast meatloaf (a seasonal special,) and I had a traditional breakfast. These were honestly just okay. I will say my english muffin was perfectly dense and buttery - yum! But everything else was lacking in flavor (especially the grits, which was a big disappointment.) I also like that while it's a chain, the local aspects of it with Fat Head Honey and Archetype coffee plus many others incorporated throughout the menu. Once we ordered it was very quick. Cons would be the Yelp Waitlist interface. Love it when a place has that option but after waiting over an hour it didn't appear to be helpful and when we were first in line we saw two other parties get seated before us until I asked. Portion size was smaller than what I was expecting with the croissant French toast. While visiting Omaha I wanted to give this breakfast place a try. It was delicious and I can't wait til the next time I'm in town to visit. The service was great and our waiter was wonderful and she could answer all the questions we had about the menu since it was our first time visiting. I tried the croissant French toast with strawberries and had a wonderful iced honey bee latte. It was delicious. My nephew got a kids meal with birthday cake pancakes and those were also fantastic. It was pretty busy when we arrived but didn't have to wait long for a table. I'm glad we got there when we did because there was quite a wait when we left. Amazing new breakfast addition to Blackstone! Everything on the menu looked so good, and was reasonably priced as well. Our server was so friendly and helpful with recommendations of her favorite menu items. We opted for the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin bread french toast, and West coast wake up omelet. Also got poptarts to go! Everything was so tasty!!! Super cute ambiance and will have a great patio when the weather is nicer. My only gripes are Blackstone parking, especially with construction. I think I have a new favorite breakfast spot. Upon entering this establishment is pretty large, bright and clean with plenty of seating. The bee theme is adorable and is referenced throughout the menu items. Luckily we went on time and got there before the real breakfast rush. Hostesses were so friendly and cheerfully accommodated us. Our server was top notch. She was enthusiastic, attentive and personable- really exceeded all of our expectations. The food was so good! We ordered an avocado toast and Florentine Benedict to share. One of the Benedicts was overcooked to a hard boil but we let the mistake slide because everything else was wonderful. They offer three fresh squeezed juices, the green being my favorite. Themed lattes that are pretty somehow just taste better too! This is the type of place you wish your stomach was bigger. We had to take home some goodies and hit the road with coffee cake and two pop tarts. The cinnamon poptart was absolutely delicious, definitely treasured every bite. These were our baby's favorite too, The biscuits and gravy were heavy and rich but also such a treat. I also enjoyed a big fluffy biscuit on the side and recommend sharing- they are huge! I was traveling and I was looking for the Biggest Best Tasting Omelette near my Location on Yelp. I found a Review that said Homegrown Omaha made them the BEST Omelette they had EVER had. So I drove 10 minutes from the Interstate to get there. So ABOUT Me. I "ONLY" order Omelettes when I go out to Eat... ALL Day long. I've EATEN At Least 15,000 Omelettes in my Lifetime (No "Lie") ! I'm 60. I've been Eating them since I was around 12 years old. This Ham and Cheese Omelette "SUCKED" ! It had hardly ANY Cheese, even though I paid to add another cheese to it also, and I didn't have it either. I EXPECTED a Super Cheesy Omelette full of Ham. It came with Hardly ANY cheese inside as well. The Ham was super tasty though. The super SMALL amount of UNSEASONED potatoes was an absolute Joke ! It consisted of half inch cubes of deep-fried potatoes ! I am NOT Kidding ! I had them bring me more. They hardly gave me ANY ! You can see what they game me "Originally" on my plate. I also ordered Hollandaise to put on my Omelette and my potatoes. The serving was SO SMALL that I had a Server bring me more. I had to ask the Manager for it. It tasted "Horrendous" ! They said it was "Homemade". I have NEVER tasted ANYTHING like it ! I still don't know what it was ! The Biscuit was good tasting. DON'T order an OMELETTE "EVER" HERE ! My colleague and I came up to omaha from dallas for a one night business trip and we doordashed our first meal after the airport from here after getting to our hotel. Both fresh and a welcomed lunch after a day of travel. The brunch was best! We called ahead to make a reservation( abt 30 minutes in advance- so we still had a short wait upon arrival, i would recommend making a reservation if you plan to come for brunch.) The avocado toast was SO good, mmm the bread was so soft and pillowy, yet also toasty and crunchy, the avocado was perfectly smashed/ salted/ oily My egg was cooked great, the latte, and juice again was amazing. Omg talk about the best biscuits in the world! They were buttery, fluffy, and moist. Homegrown also makes their own berry jam...can I tell you it is amazing!! I also got a veggie omelet that was loaded and fresh. They also have these rosemary potatoes that were cooked perfectly and I also got a Mocha latte that had the perfect amount of sweetness and caffeine. It was a great pick me up to start the day. We first started with the lemon and cinnamon pop'd hearts. Both had lots of filling and a nice crunch factor! You could definitely tell that they were homemade and made fresh daily. My entree was "Let's make a toast". This entree came with French toast, two eggs, and a side of meat. My French toast was fluffy, had a crispy crust, and a great custard interior. The eggs were perfectly cooked and complemented the French toast quite well. I picked turkey for my side meat which I thought tasted exceptional surprisingly. Overall, I would come back here if I was in the blackstone area. The high good quality plus the fun inviting environment always makes for a great time. read more

Given the price point, hype, and relatively simple menu, our waitress was not attentive, made mistakes, and overall just didn't seem to have a handle on her responsibilities often leaning on others to make things happen. So that is 1.5 points lost. Pro tip: there is almost no parking in the area due to construction in the area. Pro tip: they have a "get in line" feature on Yelp that you can use. Came for a late breakfast during the week. No need to get on the waitlist as there were plenty of tables. Parking is a real challenge. They have all the streets torn up around their building. Probably drove around for 10 minutes trying to figure out where to park. I did find parking about a block and a half away. I tried a mimosa rising drink to start. It was actually very tasty. Ordered the traditional eggs Benedict with rosemary potatoes. The potatoes were very good. I did enjoy the eggs Benedict although the hollandaise sauce was a bit different than what I am used to. She did explain that it was homemade, but I have had homemade hollandaise sauce that was not like that. It was good, there just was not much of it on the eggs. Couldn't taste it very much. All in all the dish was very good. I may be back, but it certainly will not be until they finish all the construction in that area. read more

A superlative breakfast on a Monday morning. I was lucky enough to have Clarissa as my waitress by the breakfast bar and she took exceptional care of me (while tending to freshly juicing all manner of fruits and vegetables). Paul (the GM) learned it was my first time and was very generous with ensuring I try several pasties including a terrific complimentary croissant French toast and a homemade (!) keylime pop tart. Let me be clear. The source local and they prepare cuisine from scratch. You can tell the difference and they take pride in their quality, execution and plated delivery. So, I kept things basic with two poached eggs, crispy bacon, breakfast potatoes and asked for one of their 'cakey not flaky' biscuit. I was not disappointed! Poached were executed medium as requested - bacon extra crispy exactly as desired and the spuds and biscuit were terrific additions. When they say the biscuit is worth it allow me to amplify that recommendation - it's delicious and their included butter and seasonal strawberry jam were terrific accoutrements. The restaurant was spotless and I especially enjoyed the mantra on the wall of 'cultivate kindness'. Paul & Clarissa are the embodiments of this practice and I look forward to being a return customer downtown. read more

Went to HomeGrown with a group of friends for lunch during the week. The environment was bright and clean (it's a new restaurant). I was immediately greeted. I explained I was looking for a group, the host was wise enough to know I probably meant the one person he'd just sat but they had got up to use the restroom. Rather than set me at a table, who was potentially not my group, he correctly had me wait until my friend returned to ensure it was the correct group. I thought this showed great customer service. Our server was also nice. The food was colorful and included fresh ingredients. I ordered the BLT+A+E (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and egg) with potatoes instead of chips. It was good-sized but I would have liked a little more avocado or mayo due to the fresh, grain-filled bread. My daughter ate my leftover half sandwich the following day and declared she really liked it. Other friends ordered the soup and a colorful salad. Dishes seemed to average $10-$15 per plate; however, they did have smaller options, like bread or HG-tarts. They also offered coffee varieties, to pop, to juice, and alcohol-varieties.
