We chose to eat breakfast here because there was an online waitlist and with the holiday weekend everywhere was busy on a Sunday morning. When arriving at the restaurant, we checked in while being 2nd in line (we were originally told a 15 minute wait but it ended up being 55 minutes) and were told it would still be a bit of a wait. Outside there were several tables open but we weren't given the option to sit outside. You would think they'd be offering every table with how busy they were. I asked to sit outside due to the noise volume inside being extremely loud. After being seated, we weren't waited on for another 5-10 minutes. The drinks we ordered were fine... the PiñaRita tasted like straight up coconut milk. The food was honestly mid. It didn't have a ton of flavor unfortunately. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

The pork and egg dish is plentiful and so delish. Reco over easy...

I reviewed Home Grown when they first came to Omaha. It continues to be a great breakfast/brunch/lunch place. God bless them over coming all the sewer system and street car construction, and God bless the folks overcoming that to get in the place. But, it's always busy and serves up great food fast. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Check out the vegan and gluten-free menus.

I had a day to myself until I flew home so decided to go to brunch. I walked in & it was so cute. Everyone was very nice. I went on March 8 & my server was very helpful on suggesting food & things to do that day. The manager also talked with me a bit to suggest food. I had the avocado BLT & it was delicious. The atmosphere so welcoming. If you are ever in Omaha check them out.

I was finally able to try HomeGrown in Blackstone today, and I am happy to report it was a very good experience. The restaurant was busy when I arrived around noon but I was able to find a set at the long breakfast bar. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, A + for service. The restaurant itself is very open with a lot of booths with tables in the center and the aforementioned bar on the right. The have coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, baked goods, and brunch type drinks like mimosas. I opted for the build your own breakfast which includes two eggs, a meat, rosemary potatoes, and a biscuit, but I substituted a buttermilk pancake for the biscuit. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sausage was homemade, the guy at the bar said it came from a local iowa producer, it was very tasty. The potatoes were really nice, and the pancake was very light and fluffy. The portions weren't huge, but I didn't leave hungry, the pancake was actually pretty small, but it was good, so I didn't care too much. The menu has a good variety, there were plenty of breakfast and lunch items that looked great.

Yes! All the buzz about HomeGrown is warranted! Starting with the Honey Bee Latte! Is is excellent complete with bee art. The restaurant was hopping on a Sunday and we put ourselves on the waitlist from the warmth of our hotel. It was cold & beyond blustery that March morning. An Online waitlist option is highly Valuable to me when choosing dining destinations. Service was great Food was great Location was relatively loud. Not a problem for us & a sign of many groups enjoying food & company on a Sunday morning.

Wow. Homegrown is definitely a go-to brunch spot. The wait on a Saturday was about 20-40 minutes, however my hubby and I were fortunate and snagged a seat at the bar immediately. Service was impeccable. Alex took our drink orders right away, our blueberry pop tart was also given to us in a quick manner and our food did not take long either. The restaurant is huge. The food was absolutely delicious. I'll start with our drinks. We loved the coffee. It was so smooth and flavorful that we drank it with no added sweeteners. The mimosa was delightful and made with fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne. The balance between the two were perfect. The blueberry pop tart was a yummy treat to start with. Oh man.. the filling in that thing is packed with flavor. Highly recommend. It comes out slightly warmed up too. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. My husband got the salsa verde pork and egg. Both dishes were to die for. I'd totally order them again. The biscuits were almost like a soft corn bread texture like cake. The gravy was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Same goes for the pork and egg dish. Oh my gosh. So delightful. You can tell they use fresh and great quality ingredients in their food. I love the slogan of their restaurant and their theme. Which is cultivate kindness. The employees wore shirts that said "kind people are our kind of people" on the back. I just love that so much. They also sell kindness books and merch. So fun and thoughtful. Thanks to the amazing Homegrown team. My family and I will definitely be back for a yummy meal.

I got the enchiladas with pork and they didn't disappoint. They were really flavorful and felt very fresh. The staff was super friendly. Even the manager stepped up to help us in a misunderstanding we had with our food and was super friendly. Place is big and clean. Prices are fair. Would definitely come back.

I had previously visited HomeGrown in Kansas City, so I was very excited when they opened up in Omaha. My husband and I took a rare baby-free trip downtown for breakfast on Monday, and we were pleasantly surprised to have no wait! The location is very clean and bright. Our server was super polite and attentive and definitely kept our table clean and coffee hot. We started with the coffee cake and a popped heart. These were both delicious. I particularly loved the warm icing on the popped heart. For our meals, my husband tried the breakfast meatloaf (a seasonal special,) and I had a traditional breakfast. These were honestly just okay. I will say my english muffin was perfectly dense and buttery - yum! But everything else was lacking in flavor (especially the grits, which was a big disappointment.) I can't say I wouldn't return, but I don't think I'd go out of my way again to stop by.

Would say we had some pros and cons. Pros, our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I also like that while it's a chain, the local aspects of it with Fat Head Honey and Archetype coffee plus many others incorporated throughout the menu. Once we ordered it was very quick. Cons would be the Yelp Waitlist interface. Love it when a place has that option but after waiting over an hour it didn't appear to be helpful and when we were first in line we saw two other parties get seated before us until I asked. Portion size was smaller than what I was expecting with the croissant French toast. I agreed to upgrade to eggs and bacon on a whim and when it all came out I was glad I did with just having a half of a croissant.

Delicious food as always! I've been here a few times and I have always enjoyed the food! The few times I got coffee it has been a little too sweet for my liking. This time I got the grilled cheese with tomato soup and the soup was so good! I like that they added Parmesan on top! Service was great like always and the place Was well lit and comforting!

While visiting Omaha I wanted to give this breakfast place a try. It was delicious and I can't wait til the next time I'm in town to visit. The service was great and our waiter was wonderful and she could answer all the questions we had about the menu since it was our first time visiting. I tried the croissant French toast with strawberries and had a wonderful iced honey bee latte. It was delicious. My nephew got a kids meal with birthday cake pancakes and those were also fantastic. It was pretty busy when we arrived but didn't have to wait long for a table. I'm glad we got there when we did because there was quite a wait when we left. We were sat in a big booth for the 4 of us and I enjoyed that and the place was very inviting when you walked in. Until next time.

In Omaha to visit my daughter and grand and she raved about this place so we had to try. Everything was awesome, the beverages, the food even the jelly and syrup were amazing. No really it was so good my granddaughter got a job there. Hahahaha. Definitely recommend. Best breakfast in Omaha bar none. Our server was amazing too.

I didn't have high hopes that mine would come out looking as beautiful as what the website showed though. I placed my order online and walked about 10 mins to the restaurant from my hotel. When I got there I told them I placed the order and they confirmed it was being made and they would bring it out when ready. I grabbed a seat and within a few minutes it came out, piping hot. When I opened the box, it looked AMAZING! Smelled so very appetizing too! The strings of cheese pulling off it when I pulled a slice were abundant too! It tasted GREAT! I felt like it looked better than the website!! Service was decent. Their menu is large and loaded with so many tasty looking options. Plenty of seating inside too. Definitely would come back!

The experience at this one was a little lackluster compared to the othera in town. So, 4.5 stars here. The food is fantastic. Sandwich choices are great. I love the Taxi Driver - pastrami with jalapeños on sourdough. The restaurant was clean and service was quick. Parking is very tough at this location. We had to circle the block and park 2 blocks away. The food...the Taxi Driver was dry compared to what I had at their other locations. The bread usually has butter on it before being toasted, which gives the entire sandwich a total moistness, which this one was lacking. Overall, it's still the best sandwich chain in the area. Highly recommend.

Truly a gem, which explains why it's so popular amongst the locals. It's located in downtown Omaha,…read moreand attracted lots of visitors on the weekend that my partner and I were in town. Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

Having just got to town and hungry for lunch I walked a few blocks to Block 16. I came because I…read moreread amazing reviews about them and saw they won numerous awards. I also checked out their menu and noticed it was definitely a unique, interesting menu. Upon walking in, there was a line backed up to the door and I waited in it about 15 mins and it didn't move one person, but I used this time to check out the menu and decide what I wanted. After noticing the line not moving and the cashier in heavy discussion with the family that was there placing their order, I felt it might be best to use their online ordering for carryout pickup instead. While doing this, the line moved up once and I suppose that next party had questions too and of course, plenty of time was spent answering those questions. This might seem like good service, but when the line is that long, either have more people there taking orders or use a kiosk for those of us who don't need to ask questions, or remind guests that there are many others in line (probably after the first 5 mins of discussing the menu) and the line needs to move up. After I placed my order, it told me it was accepted and gave me a time range of when to expect my order. I sat down and waited until the end of that range, which was only a few mins, and then went back up to the pick up area to ask about my order. The lady working was very friendly when I explained what I did. She gave me a number and told me she'd bring my order out, she also gave me the drink I pre-ordered. A few mins later, she brought my food out. I looked around to notice that people who were waiting for food prior to me still hadn't gotten their food. I'm not sure if it's always this slow in there or if it was busy because there's a conference in town. Opening the clamshell that my food was in - I noticed a beautiful sandwich and fries. The fries were piping hot and crispy and tasted great. The sandwich looked really nice, but when I went to pick it up, I noticed the entire bottom was soaked in grease and their hot sauce that was on the chicken. So, I fork & knifed this meal. The flavors of all the parts of the sandwich together were nice, just wish I could have picked it up without being a mess. If I ever returned, I'd get something different.
