    Ramen soup with kimchi

Another amazing dinner experience! We ordered a wide range of dishes: sushi, kimchi stew, chicken wings, edamame, bibimbop and ramen noodles. Every bite was a sensation. Shout out to our fabulous waiter, Cameron! Aside from knowing more about Korean cuisine than Google, he was swift, patient with our large party, and anticipated everything we needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really enjoyed the cool Korean K-pop vids running on multiple screens and the cozy XL booths that easily fit all 10 of us comfortably.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire evening was a fun, gastronomic treat![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The BEST part was the owner himself made a special roll (not on the menu) off the cuff featuring my favorite fruit: mango. Incredibly totally impressed! Huge huge thanks!!!

    Hours

Be sure to check with them before you try eat here. The website and Yelp shows it is open until 9 PM. Just walked in at 7:30 PM on a Wednesday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All the barstools were on top of the bar. Not welcoming, I was only person in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person in they could make me whatever I wanted, but the whole point was to sit at a bar and be welcomed when I walked in this place was not welcoming, nor was at a place I want to spend any time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their hours showed an 830 closing time.

I always enjoy going to Gangnam. I tried ordering online this last week and I got their Korean fried chicken wings which were sweet and salty and so so so good. I don't remember seeing those on the menu when I went the restaurant in the past. My usual order when I visit is chicken fried rice. It's not my favorite but now that I've found the chicken wings, I plan to order those every time!

Food was delicious! We started off with the crab rangoon (not pictured) but it was more like a deep fried crab sushi roll. Still tasty just not what I expected. Then me and my partner had udon noodles with tofu and the bidimbap (not sure if that's how you spell it) AMAZING. The heat was perfect, the taste was phenomenal, and nice sized portions. Ended with kimchi and it was lovely. The server was really knowledgeable of the food and helped us pick out what was best for our pallets.

Gangnam Korean BBQ (518 Main Street, between SE 5th and SE 6th). A great food stop for those visiting or staying in downtown.

It's our first time visiting Evansville and this dining experience with family was a memorable one for Korean food and Japanese Sushi. Coming from California (Bay Area), we have high standards for Asian cuisine. We gave it a shot since we were staying nearby at the DoubleTree and we were very pleased. The inside was awesome! It had a classic old town feel with the wood build, checkerboard floors, and high ceilings, a nice bar area with high top tables in the center, plenty of sports TVs, and special large booths with K-Pop entertainment! This is a great spot for casual birthday parties. The Korean food was very tasty!!! Flavorful and at the correct temperature and doneness. The spicy pork meat had nice char and was moist. The Soon-Tofu Jigae (soft tofu stew) hit the spot. The Gimbap (Korean Sushi) was the best we ever had. Moist, light, and fluffy. We ordered it 3 times. The Japanese sushi was also a hit. Ordered several rolls and enjoyed it. Best sushi I had in Evansville. The owner, family, and staff were warm and friendly throughout. I highly recommend you try Gangnam Korean BBQ ( and Sushi ). If we ever come back to visit, we'll stop by this gem!

Food was delicious. Generous portion. The ambience was more club like which isn't really my thing. The first time I went, having a tv playing Kpop music video right beside me was kind of annoying. A few more times later, it didn't bother me as much. Went with my family today so I was able to try more food than my usual tofu soup with seafood.

The food is delicious. The service is excellent, and the location is very convenient right downtown with parking in the vicinity.

Crag Rangoon is basically a roll, but damn tasty. Beef bulgogi was good and leftovers made for a nice second meal.

I was confused. This restaurant named as BBQ, but I didn't see any BBQ choices on the Manu. It's more like a bar.

With that, I have been surprised more times than not by trying these places. Not the case today. I ordered a simple hibachi steak and shrimp combo and a tako su app which is octopus. The salad was OK. The soup tasted watered down and poorly seasoned. The octopus was the game changer. I have eaten octopus my entire life and this was clearly previously frozen and aged out after thawing. It had a rancid smell and texture was hard, not chewy. They covered it in Ponzu to hide it but no amount of sauce could fix this. I took one bite and sent it back fearing I would risk food poisoning if I consumed it. Dinner came out and tbe portions were skimpy and the steak was overcooked. Rather than complain I thought I would cut my losses and simply not come back. Then the bill came and they left the rancid octopus on the check. I asked why and I was told the chef prepared it right so I would be billed. Had to get a manager involved to get it taken off. Serious disappointment with this place. If you come here, stick to common ingredients that turn over regularly because old spoiled food will find its way to your plate before it finds a trash can where it belongs.

We were quickly greeted and seated. The restaurant was meticulously clean!! The food was cooked fresh and tasted delightful! However, their carryout service was really busy with people coming in and out. I ordered the Chicken Hibachi dinner. I wanted to compare it to other restaurants that offer this dish. It's served with a clear soup and green salad, vegetables and fried rice. I didn't like the soup but the salad was very tasty. The serving of chicken and rice was ample. I even took some home which is rare for me. The vegetables were delicious, the fried rice was tasty and the chicken was seasoned well. It was a good dinner, but just not as good as the places I usually get this meal. My husband got the sushi and was disappointed. He found it pretty bland, when it was suppose to be a spicy dish, and didn't like how the fish was cut up. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The server was attentive. Since it was hard to hear our conversation due to the TV, I asked her to turn it down and she did. That is a pet peeve of mine. Unless you are in a bar, I don't know why TVs need to be in restaurants. It's a good restaurant, but it didn't meet my expectations.
