Not only is fried with such a deft hand that I have to assume that they've made my multiple trips to this establishment on point every time but if you get it sauced: chicken is juicy and well fried the you're going to get a second threat to the front of your shirt. The food and service are top notch! The food is always fresh and delicious. Portions are large and filling even when choosing the lunch sized portions! Have tried most of the menu items and have never been disappointed with the quality or authenticity of the dishes. The owner always makes you feel welcome and like part of the family. Me and my boyfriend ate here when the man taking our order didn't like that we were holding hands. He was very rude when we were ordering even though we were both doing our best to be polite to him. While we ate he watched us the entire time and when my boyfriend hugged me, the man got up and yelled "if ur gonna do that u can get the h### out of here. We politely stood up, cleaned our table, and left. We were both understandably angry so my bf threw his to-go cup on the ground in front of the restaurant. The man, seeing this, ran out and said "don't bother coming back. I did the correct thing and gave him the middle finger, when he started hastily walking towards us. I'm a big fan of Korean food so I was happy to see this go in at the former Oasis restaurant location. The guy at the counter was super friendly, I think his name was Mike. The food is made to order, so don't expect it to be out quick, But when you get your order it's hot, looks brilliant, and you can tell they care about their customers. Just a wonderful new Korean restaurant. So, it is kind of an Oasis in the middle of a restaurant desert . Definitely worth more visits. read more

Being Korean food lovers, we were quite excited to dine at Jumak. We came in with visions of spicy pork dancing in our heads. Upon arrival, we were given the stink-eye by the man behind the counter. He was somewhat surly with us. Not off to a good start. As the meals came out from the kitchen, he would yell either the name of the dish, or a ticket number. We had to walk back up to the counter to get our food. Our meals were hot and fresh from the kitchen. We all were able to share our generous portions, and had enough for leftovers as well. Of note was the Kimchee rice, very tasty and satisfying. The pork belly and spicy pork were very good, and came with a nice platter of fresh crisp lettuce, onion, and hot peppers to make wraps. There are no sauces at the tables, so we had to walk back up and ask the man for sauces. At the end of our meal, we had to bus our own table. The saving grace to our experience was the sweet lady, who we assumed was the cook. She was so kind, and asked us how everything was. She genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food, and we did. If you love Korean cuisine, and don't mind getting your steps in, I would recommend Jumak. Fast service, I tried the ramen with beef bulgogi and a side of kimchi. The broth is very flavorful and the beef was delicious. The egg in the ramen was empty but that's not a problem for me. The ramen texture was not my favorite but again, the broth made up for this. The kimchi was standard kimchi. I didn't try the Korean corndogs, but they look worth a try! read more

Amazing food. Great people running the place. Mike took our order and was really nice and gave us great recommendations. A lady came out of the kitchen (I believe the owner) and asked how we liked the food and was extremely nice as well. The Korean Fried chicken confirmed that Korea does Fried Chicken better than Colonel Sanders. Corndog half and half rolled in potatoes and cinnamon sugar is a delicacy. We will be back. read more

This is a gem of a restaurant! The K dogs are fun and delicious. The Korean fried chicken plain with sauce on the side is probably currently the best fried chicken in Evansville. The meat is succulent and the coating is extra crispy, yet not greasy. And it's boneless! The sticky rice is perfect. The ramen is very generous, but a bit too spicy for me, but still good. The pickled radish is tangy and crunchy goodness. Do yourself a favor and visit! read more

tteogbokk-i is 2 out of 10. As 100% Korean,this is shameful. Not even close to real one I used to eat after elementary school. Chili paste drenched and flour cake not the rice. You can do better. Corn dog 5/10 at least this one is edible but flour is slightly uncooked and again, not even close to standard. Cupbab is just leftover garbage they prepped overnight and reused. Kimbab 3/10 how the f can you drench the kimban with so much sesame oil! ? No wonder 2 third of Americans are fat If you want to feed American people then, do the freaking job right. read more

I came months place with my wife and 7byear old son. There was an older man I'm assuming the same from the other reviews who was behind the counter working. He was berating and arguing with two women who order prior to us while we stood there. When it was our turn I questioned something that was on the menu. He appeared to be very angry and under t he influence of something in my onion and his response with my wife and child standing there.
