Hands down the best ice cream in the Syracuse area. I tried the location on McDonald road first but that was closed for the season so headed to the Valley. The fall hours in the valley are 12:00-8:00 very day. I love that they change flavors for the seasons, I got a pumpkin pie ice cream and it has bits of pie crust in the pumpkin ice cream and it was fabulous! Two flavors are fundamental, as in you should definitely try them, because they are my favorites: Chocolate raspberry truffle and sea salt. Such a remarkable contrast too. The sea salt is reminiscent of caramel, but it's just the right amount of savory to add to such a sweet treat. Then you have the deep, but not intense, chocolate with fudge-y chocolate truffle pockets and swirls of raspberry jam. There's a picture of me lost in the magic of these flavors that I will probably be embarrassed posting, but for the sake of telling you how delicious this place is, I will. What can I say? Ice cream is a miracle. It's cold, but it melts into a luxurious cream in your mouth and it's sweet and there are an abundance of flavors. And if you really think about it, the ice cream is actually warmer than the Syracuse winter outside. With a ton of flavors and friendly service, Gannon's is definitely on my Syracuse bucket list whenever I visit town. I especially like the almond bark, the Charlie brown, Rocky Mountain Raspeberry, and their brownie fudge (can you tell I like chocolate?). Usually you can sample a few, but the choice will be difficult indeed! The hot apple sundae was also excellent. And don't forget their soft ice cream flavors! Everything I've had here has been super creamy and wonderful.
