    Birthday gift from Grace

I booked a last-minute 48-hour trip to NYC and stayed at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC--and overall, it was a really lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, Grace set the tone. She was incredibly kind and welcoming, even giving our dog a treat at check-in, which was such a thoughtful touch. We booked the "Woolf " package, and it exceeded expectations--our pup had a comfortable dog bed, bowls, and we were given great recommendations for dog-friendly restaurants in the area. Grace went above and beyond by sending a bottle of champagne to our room for my birthday, which was such a nice surprise. The room itself was clean, well-appointed, and had a small balcony, which made it feel extra special for a quick city escape. Anytime we needed something, the front desk responded quickly and took care of it without issue. The only downside was our experience at the rooftop bar. Unfortunately, the service there was pretty disappointing. That said, we didn't let it overshadow the rest of our stay, which was otherwise fantastic. Overall, I'd absolutely return and recommend this hotel--just maybe skip the rooftop bar.

    Great rooftop pool!

Stayed here 4 nights. Everything was terrific. They do come to clean your room rather early in the morning. It's best to use your door hanger every time so they know when you're still in your room. Clean, friendly and in an amazing spot! Rooftop pool is nice as well!

We went to the rooftop bar. Great drinks and snacks. Lovely place to spend some time.

A cute spot with a view of the city, spacious open balcony seating, and large indoor dining area. Overall, nothing special, but good for a late night drink or bite in Chelsea market FOOD TO GET: duck pizza - great flavor, thin crust FOOD TO SKIP: the sushi - we tried the rainbow roll. The rice was not fresh and slightly hard upon eating. The fish slices are also thin DRINKS: $25 a glass, as expected for a place with rooftop views

This review is for Coffee + Cocktails, the bar/cafe that is on the ground floor of the hotel. We went here in the summer and sat in their outdoor seating. It was really well decorated! The service was excellent as well with all the staff being very friendly. I love coffee and cocktails and love it when the two are done well together and so was very happy with my cocktail. It's on the pricier end but nothing you wouldn't except for the area. Would definitely recommend to try their espresso cocktail!

Empty chairs because no one wants to spend $200 for 2 hours

I've stayed at the Gansevoort Hotel multiple times and I'm currently here. Was shocked when I went to the pool to learn that the only lounge chairs available have a charge of $200 for two hours! This is absolutely ridiculous and a cash grab. The pool here is small and only has surrounding small couches and chairs. If you want to sit in one of the 6 lounge chairs you have to pay $200 for two hours. I will definitely be looking at other hotels with pools. I suggest staying at Dream Hotel in the Meatpacking District or Hotel Royale where there are plenty of free lounge chairs. To make matters worse they also decided to conduct a voluntary test of their fire alarm system at 9:30am. People from the west coast and Europe do not appreciate this.

We stayed here for three nights, and this hotel has everything I expected. Cable TV, Wi-Fi, mini bar with snacks. The beds were relatively comfortable, and I slept well on all the nights. But being a 5 star hotel, the price is high. We had two rooms, and it costed us almost $3,000 per room for all three nights. And the way the AC unit is configured is not great because the rooms were stuck on heat for the winter, and it was very hot in the room. We had to open our window so the room can become cold. And when the window was open, the temperature was at a normal level.

This is a review for the rooftop bar. Amazing vibes. GORGEOUS rooftop and surprisingly delicious food/drinks. Is it worth the $$$? I mean, if most rooftops are around the same price anyway, I would recommend this rooftop over those because of the ambience. I came here to celebrate my friend who got engaged and the server was so accommodating and kind even though we had a really large group. I got the Wagyu Beef burger and was genuinely surprised how yummy it was. Only down side was that it was $29 so a little pricey. I also got the drink "Out and Proud," which was very sweet and pretty! That was $22. My overall bill for a drink and entree was $66. Overall, a good experience but know that you'll be walking out with a pricey bill. Great spot for photos too.

Oh my God!! Jesse, the bartender, is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! He puts so much energy & effort into every single one of his cocktails!! He's super hot and single. Friendly, sociable, personable & an extreme asset to the Gansevoort family!! We had such a positive and fun experience chilling with him for two hours. Definitely highly recommend passing by for a drink. Go by the menu, or just go by his recommendations. He will not steer you wrong!!

For this Marriott the location is excellent if you are going to watch a show on Broadway. Very convenient for the play and also get a subway to anywhere else you have to go. The rooms are generally very nice and this hotel also has everything connected and controlled through a tablet which is very appealing to me. They also have a nice bar right in the hotel that is open till late. The only downside is the size. Now hotels in major cities like this like New York or Tokyo are small and pricey. Two things that can sort of negatively affect your opinion but considering they are all like that in the area, you have to compare accordingly. The only real downside for me is that the toilet is literally next to to the shower to the point that you could shower while using the toilet (I took a picture of my hand holding the shower handle on top of the toilet seat as a joke) and the sink is outside to wash your hands after using the restroom. I feel that they could have done a better design for this to avoid it. It didn't appeal to me and it's the only thing keeping me from giving this hotel 5 stars. I will probably stay here again when I go to watch another play.

More than that though, the hotel exuded such a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The check-in area and lobby is a great example of this: I love all the plants, wood, and how there is a pleasant cedar or sandalwood scent. My kids and I really liked the water infused with cucumber (or lemon-lime another day) by the elevators. It's a great transition from bustling Manhattan to walk into this hotel. The restaurant Jams on the first floor is also great, and nice to be able to have a delicious meal right at the hotel. Excellent food and coffee - we went for both breakfast and dinner here. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff helped make the stay feel special. The front desk and door staff were consistently helpful and welcoming. Our rooms were excellent, with a great view, comfortable beds, and a lot of thoughtful sustainability features. I especially liked that all of the water in the hotel is filtered. I did not use the fitness center on the second floor, but I looked great. The location is phenomenal, just steps from Central Park. With our kids, we were able to easily get to the Central Park Zoo, Heckscher Playground, and the Billy Johnson Playground, and my wife and I were also able to walk to a Broadway show in the evening. It was a great hotel for a family trip, and we hope to be back for our next NYC trip!

You enter on the first floor, but the lobby is on the sixth floor. I was having flashbacks to Tokyo... There are four elevators, and when I checked in, the place was packed. Some event must have been going on because getting an elevator was an adventure (a sad one). It didn't help that everyone had to take an elevator just to reach the lobby, then another to get to their room. Fortunately, I was only on the ninth floor...so I got my steps in. The room itself was mostly ok. One thing I really didn't like was the air conditioning. It wouldn't cool below 68 degrees. I despise hotels that throttle the A/C. I'd get warm, the air would finally kick on, I'd be comfortable for about ten minutes...then the cycle would repeat all night. Another thing that caught me off guard was the ceiling. Other than those complaints, everything else in the room was perfectly acceptable, and for a one night stay, it did the job.
