We booked our visit as a "staycation" to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We've always visited for coffee while in the area and have been talking about staying but never really got around to it until recently. We stayed in the Standard King room with views of the courtyard and backside of the building. The room itself was beautiful and provided plenty of space for myself and my husband! All of the windows opened which was a wonderful way to add some fresh air into the room on the fall mornings and afternoons. The hotel felt very secure as the elevator was only accessible with an active room key so you never need to worry about people wandering around the hotel. We cannot wait to stay again!

If you're planning to stay here, know that it is historic, and while that comes with a lot of charm, it can also mean a lack of slick amenities. Our room was huge and comfortable, and I really can't complain about anything there. If I had to pick something, it would be the bathroom. While it was very large, the lighting is absolutely terrible, and that's a pretty easy fix, so the hotel really should upgrade its lighting fixtures in the bathrooms. A more difficult upgrade (though necessary) would be the tub. It's not even a deep soak tub. It's just a regular old tub with a shower curtain, the kind most people don't even have in their homes anymore. They should just rip out the tubs and replace them with showers and glass doors. But besides this, it's a charming place in a convenient location.

"salmon poke bowl" containing iceberg lettuce, half-frozen salmon, brick of couscous, yum yum sauce

The "salmon poke bowl" was a slightly frozen salad containing a brick of couscous in a plastic container. It cost around $20. Really nice staff and atmosphere but don't order food here

I want to start off by saying the people at this hotel are the nicest and kindest individuals. Understanding and accommodating. This wasn't my first stay here. Charming with a lot to offer. Coffee is delicious. They use to have robes and slippers, along with snacks and a full mini bar in each room. Not sure if they removed all those amenities after Covid. However, in my most humbling opinion I wish the cleaning services improve. My one week stay started off so well and then of course too good to be true. Found a roommate. Bed bug. I took pictures. I killed it. Out of courtesy, I took the manager outside and showed him the pictures and he kindly offered a different room since it was my last night and it was late in the evening. The general manager called me the next morning and didn't charge me for my night. Greatly appreciate it. Unfortunately I think their cleaning staff could step it up a notch. I wasn't going to post but I'm in pain now. SMH

The High Line hotel has a restaurant/bar/patio out front, and the CRV code has "Remote View" listed at the top, but there's no Yelp listing (shady). And because this place is inside the high line hotel, I'm leaving the review here. The staff is wonderful. The hostess and servers are working their as*es off, we're friendly and understanding. The drinks are blah. I ordered two frozen drinks and they both had a plastic-y, chemical taste. Almost as though they didn't clean the machines or the machines - through their mechanics - are overpowering the tastes of the lychee or rose. It's bad, folks. (Edit: coming back to say how bad the frozen drinks tasted like chemicals and we are uncertain if it's the drinks or the straws. Four people agree - please look into this!) Food: - We ordered the soft pretzel but it was stale. And hard. We returned it and our wonderful hostess understood. - The watermelon salad was basically watermelon with herbs thrown on top. - The chicken salad had no mayonnaise, but the compostable serving trays were a delightful choice. Altogether, it was clear the bar and kitchen is not monitored well, and that's a shame for the high line hotel, given how beautiful it is here.

Lobby. Here for a yoga class soon!

I am a New York resident; therefore, my review of The High Line Hotel is not about an experience as a guest. Instead, it is with regards to a (free) yoga class held today in the refectory. Having participated in a yoga class at The High Line Hotel in late 2016, I jumped at the opportunity when I received an email indicating its return for a limited time only in April. The High Line Hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel on Tenth Avenue in the Meatpacking District. The actual Highline (the elevated walkway that spans to 34th street) faces it and there is much going on in this neighborhood. The space-- upon entrance-is gorgeous. Huge lanterns adorn the exterior as well as an outdoor courtyard. In addition, there is a back courtyard. If you happen to be a boutique hotel aficionado, anyone can chill and hang out for coffee, pastries, craft cocktails and meetings. No need to be an official hotel guest. Today's yoga class was held at the refectory. Considered "one of the most beautiful rooms in New York City" (indeed it is as my pictures do not do any justice), the refectory is mainly an event space for receptions, meetings and exhibitions. I was informed that rental can be quoted as high as $30,000. Since there were no events taking place during this limited yoga run, the space was offered gratuitously. How very Zen-like! We must have been 60+ participants taught by an instructor from Modo studios. Huge shout out to such a wonderful class. Bottled water, apples and tangerines were offered complimentary upon entrance. There was also a collection of active wear from Haven Collective for purchase. This was an amazing experience (although I knew what to expect) and I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon. So how can I give The High Line Hotel five stars without being a guest? My reasoning is that the space is gorgeous, staff were very helpful and I can imagine visiting again to have continental breakfast or enjoy a craft cocktail. I am sure this customer service extends to those who are guests at the hotel. In summary, I'm not only rating the yoga experience held in such a gorgeous space but a wonderful boutique hotel that was so welcoming.

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.

One thing to note: the hotel sits right above a sports bar, so it can get noisy when there's a game on. The gym was a low point. Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.

The Library Hotel is every bit as charming as people say, but what really makes it special is the team. I arrived by car while the building was hidden behind scaffolding, and the front desk was incredibly kind and patient, helping guide me to the loading area so I didn't spend my afternoon circling the block. Housekeeping was so gracious and helpful throughout my stay, the bartender at Bookmarks very kindly helped my friend carry our drinks down to the room, and checkout took less than 30 seconds. Every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. The themed rooms are such a fun touch (I loved seeing how each one was inspired by a different subject), but I also have to give a shout-out to the practical things. I took a few work video calls from my room on the 12th floor, and the Wi-Fi was ridiculously good - honestly stronger than the Wi-Fi in my own house when I'm sitting five feet from the modem. And finally, a standing ovation for the real MVP: the air conditioning. New York was basically a sauna while I was there, and every time I walked back into my room I was greeted by the most glorious arctic blast.
