Unfortunately first visit here was disappointing. Shrimp egg foo yung had frozen peas and carrot vegetables, the gravy had a layer of oil on top. Egg rolls were extre greasy. Will not eat there again. read more

As the first to review this restaurant and give it high marks in 2009, I'm sad to say that it isn't doing nearly as well under the new management. The menu is the same, but they keep "forgetting" to put everything in my take-out orders, getting it right only once out of maybe a half-dozen times. In addition to that, their English is very limited, making it hard to communicate. For example, when they first took over, I asked, "Where's Sheng?" (who, along with her husband, was the previous proprietor), and got back a blank stare. Gao Sheng is very solid american-style chinese takeout cuisine. Everything I've had there has been spot-on. Good shrimp, good vegetables, good tofu.... Inside, there are some booths with hard benches, but the decor is welcoming, so eating there is pleasant enough... Probably the best place around to get a lunch with some vegetables. read more

Disgusting food. Rice is mush. Sesame Chicken swimming in watery sauce without the crispy coating. General Tso was the same way. No spice, no kick, no taste but sugar and rubbery mush chicken. Rice tastes like dirty water. Never have I gotten decent food here. Lady has an attitude problem all the time. Snatched my debit card when I went to pay. This is the only gig in town so I wish it were under new management soon. This place is the worst chinese food I've ever had. read more

The food here is usually pretty good. My only issue has been the service. I called and placed an order, but when I got home we were missing an item. I called them back and the girl "forgot" the item. It was just frustrating because we don't live close. read more

Excellent! Super clean restaurant and very quick service! Gao and his wife are very sweet and really value their customers. Everything is good here but we are partial to the cheese wontons and chinese vegetables. They always seem to be tossing us little extras whether it be a soda or a few eggrolls as thanks for coming in. This is how a business should be run! read more

I ordered my favorite dish, chicken lo mein. It was at least as good as any I've had before, and the price was fair. I plan on returning.

My family are regular customers here because the food is tasty, consistent, and totally reasonably priced. I always get the Garlic chicken combo plate (comes with a spring roll and either white or fried rice), but I've tried some others, and they're all good. It's typical American-Chinese food with portions big enough where I have enough for lunch/dinner the next day. If you're in the area, check it out! read more

I've eaten from here 4 times. Every time I thought the food was really good for a take out place. The only complaint was when I ordered sesame shrimp and got something else. It might have been general tso or something because it was spicy and has no sesame seeds. It was really good so I kinda don't have a complaint other than it was wrong. The service is typical of a take out place, nothing all that impressive but not that off putting to keep me from ordering. Judging on just food, I say 5 stars. My go-to chinese place when I'm visiting my parents' house. Good food, very fast service, and very reasonable prices. There are a good number of tables and it's pretty quiet for a takeout place, so eating in is actually a pretty good option. Especially love their steamed dumplings and egg drop soup, but everything is well-made. read more

Something must have recently changed. The portions are not as advertised....a quart of lo mein is more like a pint. The egg rolls were soaked in grease and they no longer supply homemade hot mustard only the crappy packaged stuff. They just lost a weekly customer...you'll be best advised to avoid this place. read more

Hadn't been here recently but the ownership changed and the few times my co-worker & I have been there since have been less than stellar. Our most recent trip brings about this review and low rating. We walked in and placed our order to go. While in the midst of our 30-minute wait for 2 lunch specials, the health dept walked in for their annual inspection. It appeared to set them into a panic, which concerns me. About 15 minutes into our wait, they gave my coworker her lunch special, Shrimp Egg Foo Yung & soup. We waited an additional 5 minutes and even asked about the container on the back counter. We were told they were still cooking it (even though nobody was cooking). When we again asked (25 minutes in) she brought me the container that had been sitting on the prep table for a solid 10 minutes. No egg roll, she then pulled that off the prep table. I felt the food and expressed my disappointment that it was lukewarm at best. She told me, no it's hot, besides the inspector walked in & she had ot take care of that and the cook doesn't tell her when it's ready. Wow! If I could see the container on the table from the other side of the counter, why couldn't they? I was able to reheat the meal back at my office but will not be back. In addition, my coworker's meal had all of one (1) shrimp in it. We agreed we would not be back. There are so few places to grab lunch here in Woodstown, but that isn't enough of a reason to go back here again. read more
