My daughter literally BEGGED me to drive 35 minutes to the Cerritos just for her to shop at Garage. I agreed to it and instantly regretted my decision when I saw the $25 price tags on a plain tank top or $35 regular cotton t-shirt. Don't get me wrong. Some items like their socks or shorts are pretty cute, but I just don't get the obsession with the brand. Maybe, it's a teenager thing (she's 14), and she swore up and down that once the Brea location opens, she will going there "every day". Her explanation is that the shirts feel "so comfortable" ..... maybe so. I didn't have any bad experience with the sales people, as the two young girls at the register were actually very nice. Cannot say the same for the customers, though. Some were Karen-like and acted very entitled. Overall, not a huge fan but Garage is definitely my daughter's fave store at the moment. read more

I just had a really uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience at this store. I've never felt so judged at a clothing store before. The girls working the fitting room were not professional at all and it's more sad that the manager was the same way. They gave looks and attitude, I wanted to keep trying clothes on and go back but we noticed them judging other girls along with us and talking about us. This ruined our shopping experience, we wanted to have a fun girls day but the girls working there were NOT girl girls. Even the girls at the check out were rude as well.... They were just talking amongst eachother and not acknowledging us... Never coming back to this store EVER again. It sucks more because we were so respectful and smiling and we didn't get that reciprocated back. I really hope they understand their HORRIBLE customer service and reflect for how they present themselves towards there customers... read more

I went to the store with my three year old daughter to return some clothing items I had purchased online for my birthday. An employee advised me I can do an exchange so I would not lose the $15 reward in which I proceeded to try on clothes and then proceed to the register to return the rest. The manager on duty who had really curly brown hair and was of thin build who is pictured below in which I was later told the manager of the store is Danielle, she advised me that I could not return the final sale items and had to contact Garage online. I was fine with that and told her I would proceed with the other items that were not on sale to be able to use the $15 birthday reward. She demanded that she was the manager and I couldn't do that. I advised her that her employee told me I could which is why I proceeded to shop around and try on clothes. She proceeded to let it be known to me that she was the manager and she couldn't until she called that employee over who then told her it was possible to do. Her behavior after she was told that by her employee was that of mad since she was left looking embarrassed and clearly feeling incompetent. I asked to clarify if I could do it then since I had my toddler with me waiting and she then decided to tell me she wasn't speaking to me but the employee and began being extremely rude to me and said she would call security if I wouldn't leave when I did not do anything. I told her it was fine that I did nothing wrong and her employees were already helping me with the transaction and if they review cameras they would see that. I also advised her that I would advise them how she was treating me and they could also see that if they review cameras. I was there for approximately an hour and a half or more with my daughter who then proceeded to cry because of the whole situation in which she could clearly see how her mother was being yelled at. The manager refused to help me and let her emotions get the best of her and would not even show me the receipt showing she did the return. I asked for corporate number and her name and she laughed and refused to give it to me. I told her I had video of her being rude to me and she demanded I delete it if I wanted the return to be done. Then the security tells me she did do the return eventually so she was just repeatedly lying to me so I could delete the video and was scared of me posting it. She was trying to tell me to return the yellow shirt I had when that was the shirt the employee was trying to see if they had in my size so because she was so worked up she was not even thinking clearly anymore or even knew what she was saying. I've never gotten treated so horrible in my life. She was extremely rude and I felt very discriminated. To top it off I have all her employees looking at my Instagram story so that just tells me she told them look up my personal info which I am sure is against company policy. Having been in retail and management and several other jobs I know that was completely unacceptable behavior from the manager of the store. Her power trip was uncalled for and she knew my phone was going to die and proceeded to not help me so I can have to go back to the car to charge it when I had already showed her the proof of purchase several times. I had to even go to the kiosk in front of me to ask the gentleman if I could use the charger since she was taking so long in trying to help me that my phone died again. The fact I was there for so long when I did nothing wrong has me baffled! I could only imagine how she uses her management position to her power when treating other customers. As I approached the store, I was greeted by an associate who asked if I was looking for anything particular. I politely implied, I'm just looking. I'm with my two year old daughter, so I have my hands full. My daughter attempted to climb a platform, however I softly spoke to her and grabbed her down. As I was controlling the situation, I was abruptly shouted at by a supervisor that she can't climb it because it's dangerous. As a mother, that's a no-brainer but for individuals who do not have children they can't wrapped their mind around it unless they have their own. They would understand. The unfortunate part is that the supervisor (Daniel with intense curly hair) was intentionally trying to insult me and I didn't come up with that conclusion right away, I barely could respond before she already had put her hand in my face to not further speak. Afterwards, the definite eye rolling and the harassment I felt afterward was unnecessary. She made it clear she hand an agenda to follow my 2 year old and I around the store. I personally wouldn't want to go to a pretentious store for cheap fabric, although it's decently priced, the customer service is not worth it. If a supervisor treats customers inhumanely, then this store retail sale workers will do the same and unfortunately it won't last another decade. Probably best to get your clothes from a Hollister or Abercrombie that will actually last a decade. I for one, will stick with Nordstrom, which is why I was at this mall in the first place. read more

Bad customer service. Don't want to sell clothes to you. Make you feel like you don't belong. My daughter was heart broken they couldn't give her a shirt they had on manaquinn. How hard was it to just take a shirt off and put another one on. Ruined our Christmas shopping experience. I was so angry I wanted to do something bad but that's the old me. Really really disappointed in the quality of clothing. I've bought a couple times from here and am normally really happy with my purchases. However, I recently purchased a pair of jeans in December and after only a few wears the zipper has completely broken off. I called to see if they could replace them since they are likely defective and they said since I've worn them there's nothing they could do. I expected more than couple of wears out of jeans that cost 70 dollars. The actual employees who work here are nice but its unfortunate garage doesn't take more responsibility for selling defectives items. read more

I was so disappointed coming into this store. I feel like the environment wasn't welcoming and customer service wasn't all there. I had wanted a shirt and they didn't have my size I ask the lady to order it for me and she asked to bring the shirt over. I end up ordering the shirt and I didn't like the way it fits on me. I ripped the tag off while trying it on and when I went to return the shirt I was told I couldn't. As a first time shopper at garage I didn't know the tag had to be kept on when it came to returns because I haven't had that issue any where else. Disappointed, disgusted and dissatisfied. Went in about a week ago to look for an outfit for a baby shower and sadly when I got home, after trying the shirt on, I had to return it. Going back was the worst experience. I had brought my receipt and was back in the store 4 days after buying it and was denied a return. I believe her name was Jamie... rudest manager I've ever spoke with. Not only was she rude to me, the way she was talking in general, to her own coworkers was discomforting to watch. The customer service here was amazing! I'm hoping the manager of this store sees this and gives these girls praise. I placed an order online about a week and a half ago for my daughter's Christmas gifts. Today I received a UPS notification saying they went to pick up the package and in transit apparently the package was EMPTY! To say I was upset is an understatement I was beyond overwhelmed wanting to cry. Over $155 worth stolen/lost. Back and forth with ups, I was able to get ahold of garage customer service and of course everything I ordered online was sold out! So I called the second closet store this one and Emma picked up the phone she was amazing!!! I explained to her what happened and she was so sweet and wrote down all the items I bought online and searched the store inventory on the floor and back to help me find my daughters wish list: she kindly called me back to let me know most of the items I had previously ordered were in stock there! I drove down there tonight and all the items were there waiting for me! The girls there working tonight were also so sweet and showed me great customer service! I just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me out! That was the best customer service I have ever received, compassionate at its best because they understood my frustration and hurt over my daughters Christmas package being lost/stolen, thank you garage staff you are very appreciated and I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! read more

Horrible customer service. The store is run by teenage girls making the place a mess. Throughout my whole shopping trip I did not see one girl working. All of the girls were not working but rather talking amongst one another. When my friend and I were walking to find the register, one girl who's eyes looked like balloons, yelled at us screaming "THE LINE STARTS RIGHT HERE" and pointed obnoxiously while giggling. Horrible customer service. Went in and granted I understand rules are rules, but make sure you enforce them at all times. I asked my boyfriend to check my pants and he came behind the changing curtain, which an employee came and said it is one per person. This would be fine HOWEVER someone right before us, a boyfriend had been going in and out of his girlfriend's changing room and even walked out with her in front of the employee the whole time. Not one peep. When I came out my boyfriend let me know she kept making rude faces to him the entire time I was in there. Then we end up going to the cash register and was helped by a different girl. I tried paying cash but she was like I need exact change, so I switched to card. I guess I needed to tell her no forget it I need to do card because she instantly seemed pissy. Handed me my clothes rudely and didn't say have a good day or thank you just walked away after. For overpriced clothing I expect decent customer service at minimum. read more
