Big Bear lake is the location of our second home and we had 2 garage doors installed by Garage Door Kings about 5 years ago. Overall, the doors work well and look good. I cannot even tell you if the pricing was good or not as they are almost the only company on the mountain, and our home builder used them. They did a good job, showed up on time, installed what we wanted, they work, and they look good. However, sections of the door trim / seal components have failed more than once in less than 5 years that we have had the doors. They pulled away from the wood trim of the door frame, cracked and even broke in places. At first, I used wood screws to reattach the trim pieces where the nails pulled out of the plastic material, but eventually, we were forced to engage Garage Door Kings to replace all the trim, not just the failed sections, as we were told that the new replacement trim was wider and not compatible with the existing trim pieces (that did not fail). How many times have we all been told that the new replacement parts are not compatible with the old parts? It was expensive to have them replaced (over $500), as I found out that the warrantee was only 1 year. Why did they fail in less than 5 years, is that normal and I should expect less than 5 years of life? Was it bad installation, inferior material, is it the harsh mountain environment? All I can tell you is that our primary home, down the mountain, has not had any issues whatsoever with the 2-garage door trim / seal for almost 25 years and is still going strong. Makes me wonder, am I going to have the need to pay another $500 (or more with inflation) in 5 years' time to replace what was just replaced last week? read more

First contacted them back in November when we were having problems with our 20 year old garage door opener. We got several estimates and they were the cheapest. They were very knowledgeable and advised the current opener could be serviced. They advised we fix the spring system and their estimate was about 1/2 that of another company who wanted to replace everything. Mike and his crew did an excellent job. They always called to let us know what time they would be there and responded to any messages we sent. The garage door started sticking again after a couple of months. We called them out. They came out and made some adjustments. They didn't charge for the call. Overall I am very happy with the work and their service.
