What a pleasure it was doing business with Big Bear Lakefront Cabins!…read more So easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We rented the "lakeview manor" (luxury cabin) conveniently located right behind oakside restaurant. Walking distance to the village was only 3-5 minutes! When booking with Lakefront Cabins they offer a 20% discount on boat rentals through pleasure point marina. We took advantage of this great value. Lakeview Manor cabin comes with an AC/DC pin ball machine, when I went to play it, one of the flippers wasn't working so I sent a service request out to Lake front cabins and they immediately sent a technician. Within an hour it was fixed. Very much appreciated! The cabin is equipped with oversized TV's, state of the art fireplaces, and modern style finishes throughout. It's a must stay if you're planning on visiting big bear.

He made me waste over one month holding my house keys trying to get estimates from him on some remodeling projects I needed done. I called every week trying to get the writing estimate on what I asked in person and I would always get the answer that he would take care of it next week. One month later nothing. Still no writing estimate neither a time frame on how long job would take. If Licensed Home Improvement is only looking for big fish projects or too busy to take any new project, they should mention it explicitly and not make waste time to people. Still, I was able to test the quality of the work on a small wood fencing project and result was average. The people he hired for the job did not know that some smart guys invented sanders so touching the top of the wood fence could hurt your fingers. Also the guys he hired thought I was stupid enough to not see they only put one coat of stain so I had to ask them to put a second coat which they did. Shady practice in my opinion. If you wanna waste your time and get average work done on your property, then you can give a try.

UPDATE: had a little glitch with our rolling door a week later, nothing to do with the job we had done last week. He came out and did not charge us. I am blown away by this company's outstanding customer service.

I texted again asking if the posts they were installing would also be powder coated since they were being installed that day. He then called back with an attitude stating he wasn't installing posts, and if I wanted my money back, he'd return it. Before I could answer, he said "This is too much pressure. I'll send you your money back." He had just informed me the previous day that he was going to be starting that day to install the posts for a gate. So I asked him, then why are you coming out today, and he said to clean up. What? All I could think was, clean up what? He hadn't even started anything yet. It was clear to me that after he had received the deposit, he wasn't going to show up that day at all, and my text asking him what time he was going to come out, set him off, or either he was planning to install painted, and not powder coated posts for my gate. If the two questions I asked him was too much "pressure" for him, he really needs to find another job. He really has a bad disposition problem and should not be working with the public, which was obvious after reading thoroughly through his reviews. You really should check out companies and thoroughly read reviews before bringing strangers onto your property. Lesson learned for me. I am at fault in this transaction, because I rushed and didn't check him out just trying to get the job done and out of the way. 45" after sending the deposit to him, I had received two (2) much much better quotes, but I didn't want to back out and cancel on him, even though he didn't give me a contract, which should have been a red flag. So, in my case, his rotten attitude worked in my favor. I didn't have to feel bad canceling on him, and I was able to work with a stable person from a company, with great reviews and service, for a much better price. As far as his below response: 1) I'm not sure what he is responding to. I never said anything about him having other customers ahead of me or him stating it would take 7 days to complete the job. Taking 7 days to complete the job is not the problem. The problem is him scheduling a day to come out and start the job, which, from his own admission, he had no intentions of doing. 2) I'm not sure if he is getting people confused or what, but I never called him at 5:45 in the morning. As a matter of fact, I never called him. I texted him at 7 in the morning to find out what time he would be arriving so that I could make sure someone would be there, and then at 8:15am to ask about the posts. 3) His communication is horrible! Once he made sure to receive that deposit, he had no intentions of coming out that day to start the job. If something came up and he was not going to show up or even if he, for whatever reason, no longer wanted the job, it's just called Professionalism 101 to let the customer know, especially after he had made certain to collect that deposit. 4) I'm not sure what causes his confusion and memory lapses, but the deposit I gave him was not for $300. Maybe he needs to really consider starting his day earlier at 5:45am, because HE NEEDS TO GET IT TOGETHER! and God bless him too.

I felt like it is a deceptive tactic the company uses. The labor costs should have been on the first of 2 invoices that I received on the 7th but modified after work was done on the 8th and not showing me the invoice prior to charging my credit card with the breakdown of costs of items and labor .Which I still don't know the price of the door.I am a senior citizen and every penny counts.I k know companies need to make a profit ,but not at the detriment of others. The salesman and installers were pleasant ,but transparency and integrity is what keeps a customer returning.Word to the wise:Don't let a salesman talk you into anything until you get another quote.Otherwise you might end up thinking about this adage:You are peeling on my leg and telling me it's raining.Would have gotten a 4 if pricing was transparent. to me.I am hurt and $500 poorer.
