I had 2 sliding glass doors installed. The team spoke little English so communications was limited. The crew did a decent job but didn't finish by sealing beneath the doors. This leaves an opening for water to leak in and damage my downstairs cieling. I mentioned it to them and sent pictures. The only response was we will discuss with the installer. I have heard nothing and fixed it myself. I don't plan to use them for my planned windows replacement. I was surprised at the poor response. read more

Here is the update, the Vice President Sara called me today and told me it's a misunderstanding on their end to tell me I need to pay for the broken glass, she told me they will fix it for free, now I am satisfied with their solution and I will update here once they fix it for me. I have a vacation rental in big bear lake need to replace some of the screen and wheels for my windows and doors, I called them and they came and checked and gave me a quote, I paid 50% first for them to purchase the material and the rest will be paid when the job done. After around a month after I paid, they started to come and do the job. The first issue was they came several times, and told me some of the jobs can't be done, well, that's very unprofessional, they checked first and quoted me, now they told me they can't do the job. another issue was terrible, they came to fix/replace the screen door's wheels, but they broke my sliding patio door's glass, then they didn't tell me and didn't clean up well, and I didn't know my door was broken until my guest complained the glass was broken and some still on the group, very dangerous, you can imagine I received a bad review because of this. I called my housekeeper and several previous guests tried to find out what happened to my door. Until I called them and tried to ask them to replace the glass for me, then they told me they broke it and they were going to fix it for me, but waiting the material to come. You know what's the worst part? The other day I received a call from them, they told me the owner asked me to pay for the material fee of $580 which is the glass they broke, they only cover me the labor, according the them, the labor cost the same as the material, looks like I am getting a steal on this case? and when I ask who's the technician broke my glass, they told me it's Chris, and Chris is the owner. So stay away if you can, or at least keep an eye on them if you have to hire them. Very unprofessional and dishonest business owner. read more

We have a second home at Lake Arrowhead, which had original windows dating to 1938. We contacted Best Windows and asked for them to visit our home and estimate the cost for the replacements. This accomplished, since we usually visit Arrowhead on weekends, or irregular times, Best coordinated their visits with our security service, and proceeded to do onsite inspections and installation, all in our absence. Can't tell how much you're paying for other items like glass breakage warranty - LONG wait time. It took 5 months for our installation(!!!). And we didn't have anything big or special. We were told 8-10 weeks when we placed our order. Then when scheduling the installation, it was moved far out. Got different reasons why each time we queried - factory back up, then not factory back up but not ordered cuz no installers to put windows in, etc, etc... We were waiting to paint the exterior until the new windows were installed. Due to the delay, we were unable to properly paint due to cold weather arriving - very frustrating. read more

Who would have thought I would love Windows so much?!? We bought a cabin and had 1 broken window, one cracked window, one totally weird window, lots of missing screens, and some older aluminum Windows. Devin was amazing to work with. He stopped by our cabin a few times to make sure we were getting the Windows we wanted and the right screen sizes. He was very responsive and easy to work with. Best just completed installing 11 new Milgard windows in our Big Bear Lake cabin. We had contacted both Best and Bear Valley Glass for quotes. With Bear Valley Glass, they had to make an appointment about 8 days out. Called the day before and had to reschedule the appointment. The new appointment was the afternoon, three days later. They showed up in the morning so I wasn't there to meet them and discuss the process. It took them three days and several calls to get the quote. It was emailed, hand written, lacked detail, and was almost illegible. Devin, with Best was there the next day. He spent all the time I needed to get all my questions answered. I received the quote the next day. It included diagrams of each window with a summary of finishes, features, and dimensions. It also included a detailed explanation of what was included, time required, and method of installation. The labor estimates for Best and Bear City Glass were very close. Best was about $1,000 less that Bear City for the materials (windows). I found that strange because both companies were bidding the identical Milgard windows, finishes, and sizes. Needlessly to say, I called Best and told them they got the job. The next day they had their installation foreman, Hugo, come by to meet me and reconfirm all the dimensions, finishes, and answer any additional questions that I had. The next day they called me to confirm that the window order had been turned in and that Milgard was starting the window manufacturing process. Two weeks later, they called again to confirm the installation date. Two days prior to the scheduled installation date, they called again to reconfirm the installation date and time. Hugo and his crew of six factory trained installers showed up on time when scheduled (unusual for Big Bear Lake Contractors). It took them 1 1/2 days to install the 11 windows. Everyone knew what to do and they worked really well together. As they progressed with the installation, they kept their work areas clean and were always courteous, efficient, and respectful of our home. I am pleased to write this recommendation for Best Windows and cannot complement them enough on their customer service from start to finish, efficiency, pricing, and quality of work. I had aluminum windows throughout (a number of them cracked, failed, etc.) from 1980 so I was really excited to see them go. Devin was the sales person I dealt with the majority of the time. I had a ton of questions and Devin was happy to answer all of them. Hugo was the installer. He was great, too! He gave me phone call/text updates throughout the install (since I live out-of-state). Devin also told me about a mail in rebate that Milgard was offering. With that, I decided to go with the better quality Milgard since it wasn't much more. I'm glad I did! DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I had my windows and a slider replaced about 4 years ago. They have a salesman and I mean salesman come to you house to give his pitch. You feel like your buying a used car from a shady car lot. He starts promising you the world and everything is covered on his windows so there is nothing to worry about. I was moderately happy with the product until a pieces of plastic broke off the threshold of my slider. It had broken from everyday use and was not abused. So I called up Best Windows and Doors and they pretty much told me tough luck that's not covered. They did come out to look at the damage and reported to back to me that suck it up we are not fixing it! So beware buying windows from this company, they will tell you anything to make a deal. read more
