Paul and his partner (I think his name was Ron - my apologies for not remembering!) not only said that it wasn't necessary, but easily fixed the issue as well as explained in detail as to what the issue was in the first place. And on top of their refreshing honesty, they also cut me a break on the repair costs. We will eventually need to get a new door and we will 100% be using Do It Right Garage Doors. I talked with Paul, explained the problem and I was told that Rob would be able to come out the same day. Rob arrived at my home and very quickly fixed my door. He explained what caused the problem in the first place as well as identified other issues that would need to be taken care of, although not immediately. I have to admit, I was extremely happy with the service and the quality of work from beginning to end. Plus, these guys being so personable is very refreshing. I've already recommended them to a few of my neighbors. Excellent work guys! I would definitely hire them again.

I specifically asked if they were in Big Bear and they said "yes, we're local". I waited 3.5 hours (took time off work) and technician never showed up. They called me later stating that the technician could not get up the mountain and had been turned around on Highway 38 by CHP. Shocking! How did they ever think that they were going to be able to get up Highway 38 When it has been closed for over a week? If they had been honest with me in the beginning stating that they are not Big Bear local and they are off the mountain, I could've told them they were not going to be able to get up here. The fact that they lied and said they were local cost me time off of work and wasted time waiting on them, waiting for a company that I would never ever hire!! When you are asked a question just be honest. The young woman I spoke to seemed shocked to hear that there had been big storms, epic snow and closed roads. Clearly, this company is out of touch.

If I could rate them 10 stars I would. Their customer service is truly world class. This is the first time we have used Garage Door Kings and it will definitely not be the last. I called Michael after hours on Wednesday night and shortly after leaving him a message, I received a text letting me know he would call me the next morning. Sure enough, he called the next morning and was ready to come out and fix my garage door that day. We decided Friday was better for us, so he gave us an appointment for Friday morning and after we hung up, I received another text confirming our appointment. On Friday morning, I received another text with our appointment and the names of the guys that would be coming out, Manny and Miguel. They arrived right on time and gave me a price up front on how much it would cost, exactly what they would do and approximately how long it would take. They finished when they said they would and they walked me through what they did and showed me everything. They sent me a very detailed invoice and were ABSOLUTELY the nicest and most knowledgeable professionals you can imagine. I will definitely ask for them, next time I call for service. We have lived in Big Bear on and off for almost 30 years and this kind of follow up and service is definitely not the norm for up here. If you need ANY garage door repairs or service, you have got to call Michael. Thank you for being such a pleasure to work with. read more

I had these folks install a new garage door 2-3 years ago and it was a very pleasant experience. The unit came with a battery back up and because of the power failures we experience here in BB I have had to use it, but because it's a dethatched garage and didn't have a man door they also installed a keyed release for the handle inside of the garage. That can in handy when the battery was dead. I called for a new battery and PM service. There was also a small issue with the light. The same guys that installed the door came out to do the service. This tells me that the owner must treat their guys well enough that they like to work there . They installed the new battery and lubed everything and checked operation. They told me the "Mother Board" was under warranty still ordered one. The next visit was free as it was warranty and no arguments just good honest service. Now the light works as it should. read more

A few years ago I bought a new garage door from GDK and the guys did a great job. But during the power outages here in Big Bear lately I had to access the garage and the battery back up was dead. When I bought the door the dethatched garage didn't have a man door so I got the keyed manual release as a back up to the battery. That last item worked and I got to my generator. I called for service to get a new battery and just get a general check up. They came out in a few days and did all the work. The guys that came were the same two that had installed the door. They took care of everything really fast, the price was fair and it's good to see a company can retain workers. read more

Garage Door Kings installed a new garage door to replace my broken one (my car was stuck inside!) within the day. They happened to have the door in stock, and came out that afternoon to replace it. They were professional, punctual, and very affordable. Big plus: besides all that, they are local to Big Bear and know what weather conditions we get up here, so they know the very best garage door to install to ensure that your garage will remain dry and protected throughout our harsh winters and hot summers. I needed it fixed quickly so the contractor can continue his work without me staying here 24/7. I also wanted a quality opener with a decent price and good workmanship by the installer. I called EZ Garage Door and they met all these requirements with flying colors. I contacted EZ and its owner, Robert, responded immediately. He was on vacation but scheduled me the next day after his vacation ended. He offered me a free inspection to find the problem I was having, but I already was planning to have a new opener installed. As a courtesy, he sent me a list of openers I could have installed, with the total OTD price for whichever one I chose. He had at least 7-8 to choose from. He installs only quality brands and is very knowledgeable of what each can do, which depends on what you want the new opener to do. He arrived at the scheduled time and was ready to install immediately, since I had already chosen the opener I wanted. Robert is extremely knowledgeable and very prepared to do the job. He had to work around a "remodel in process", but had no issues or problems with the situation. He said it would take about 90 minutes to complete the job: 60 to complete the installation and 30 to explain any and all nuances of my new opener. The installation was very clean and professional. I not only want quality but appearance as well. It must be good AND look good. Robert was excellent! It looks clean. He spent the last few minutes explaining all the new functions of my new opener and how to use them. If you haven't purchased an opener in years, BE READY FOR AN EXPERIENCE! They have modernized the opener to meet today's automation. My business with EZ Garage Doors was a great experience. Robert is young, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. He's clean, organized and leaves no trace of even being here. He truly deserves a 5 star rating, and if you're looking to replace or upgrade your opener, this is the place to go. There are a couple more I would consider doing business with because I've dealt with them before, but Robert is the cream of the crop.
