After having our sub-par contractor's grade door (that came with our house) replaced by GDS (having an actual showroom was a nice touch), we were pleased to have them come back on several occasions to make a few more upgrades and repairs. We had a broken spring replaced and a new opener installed (I was pleasantly surprised by the help I got on the phone to try and get the opener to work again before they actually sent someone out to the house--alas, it was, in fact, dead, but I did appreciate their attempt to fix my problem over the phone first.) It's always a relief to find service people you feel you can trust. I have no reservations about being a repeat customer. read more

2 days ago I drove off my garage without letting the garage door go up all the way. What a nightmare. I call garage specialists , they came to my house in 2hs after my call. Gave me a quote and told me that the damage was too great to fix it and I need a new garage door. I couldn't wait because my house was opened. Please stop posting, this is my review, not an argument. The only things that matter are: PROS: Quick response and replacement, it took less than 1 hour. CONS: Expensive, compare to other companies in my area, no free estimate $90.00, door track lubrication cost in $8.00 (WD-40® 3-In-1 Professional Garage Door Lube - $8.99 - plus I was not notified - only saw the charge on the receipt) Plus, I did not ask for the replacement of the garage door rollers, just ask about the price (been told same Vinyl rollers would cost me $5.00 each - you can buy 10 for $12.99). I did chose your company because you are the only one answered at the time I called you (8:00 am), I didn't shop around, it was my mistake and I am not blaming you in any way. I do not wish to argue. You can't get 5 stars all the time. My point is not to tell you how much to charge or how to run your business, just point out that your competition in my area is less expansive. read more

I just had a new 2-door and a 1-door garage door set installed by Garage Door Specialists. They were fantastic. First, communication. I typically use email to communicate, and they were very responsive. When I received the estimate, Steve came by and was both knowledgeable and very friendly. He explained everything in detail, answered all of my questions, and gave me a written estimate. I had received other estimates as well, but I chose them because the price was good, but I also trusted them. They came out last week, and Tom, the installation person, was great as well. I am the type to ask lots of questions, and he was more than happy to explain everything. The work was done in one day and everything looks and runs great. They replaced the doors, the springs, the tracks all at the price of the original estimate. I highly recommend them. read more

The people at Garage Door Specialists are the best. We've been a customer of theirs for 20 years. We just moved into a new house and I called them because our garage door wouldn't go down unless we held the button. The woman who answered the phone gave me a couple pointers to try and fix the door myself. Five minutes later, I had fixed the door and called back to thank them. There aren't a lot of businesses out there that would have you troubleshoot/fix the problem yourself. They could've easily come out and charged me for a service call that I didn't really need. I have been doing business with GDS for a long time! First with repairs for two old garage doors and finally when I needed to replace them back in March 2014I I purchased 2 new doors and motors from them. They are honest and fair priced! Their service techs that come out are as nice as can be and take the time with programming the remotes and the internal car remotes as well. I have had a few minor issues since and Rob the owner personally came out to my home to solve the problems that occurred.
