We found this place by chance and are fortunate we did. It's a member's only establishment (I had some of those jackets back in the day. Remember them? ) but the cost is just ten bucks. They have a lot of things going on here all the time. Monday: Discount refills on mugs of beer. Tuesday: Order two drinks and get a free stogie, plus seltzers are on sale. Wednesday: Discounts on domestic bottles and wells. Thursday: Half-price wine, discounted craft cans, and a special priced pizza combo. Friday: Live music Saturday: Live music Sunday: Discounted mimosas, Blbloody Mary's, domestic buckets, wings, and appetizers. Plus, live music! We dropped in on a Sunday just before the live blues started up. I had a mango beer, and my wife had some wine. We also got an order of meatballs in sauce to snack on. There were three nice size meatballs served in a convenient to-go container in case we didn't finish them. They have 12 large screen TVs around the two rooms (there's a second room in the back, check it out) playing sports silently, including some interesting X-Games tupe stuff. Very cool. There are two free pool tables also. And they are real pool tables, not junky quarter tables. The cues and chalk are quality as well. Big Bump was playing some kick @$$ blues and taking requests while we were there. Awesome!!! A+++ All The Way and were already planning to return. read more

Service horrible, took my initial order then never asked for drink refill or anything else and wasn't busy. Asking for the check was the best thing about this place. Don't waist your time or money. If you didn't have to give a star I wouldn't. Should have know since it's 4.5 stars on Yelp with only 20 reviews from all the ownerships family members. read more

Came in on Sunday at around 3 pm, just in time to hear Big Bump play. Live music every Sunday from 3-6 PM. It's our first time and we're pleasantly surprised with the ambiance. The decor's garage inspired and very cool. We were greeted by Jenny, who was very friendly and attentive. I ordered Chardonnay and my husband and I split an order of yummy meatballs that were Sunday special for only $4!! They have really good Sunday Food and Drink Specials. This is a members only bar but you can have guests. The membership is $10. They serve, pizza, wings, and have a full bar. You can sign for a membership at the kiosk near the entrance. Each visit thereafter, there's a checking in process. Not having this knowledge prior to stopping in initially had me feeling a bit out of place. Though, this bar appears to get pretty busy on the weekend. There was a live band performing during my visit also. There were some interesting items decorating the place. The drinks were reasonable and the wings were just ok. I ended up taking them to go. Although, I signed up for a membership, as I wanted to get a feel of the space...I'm contemplating a decision to return. Looking for a late night spot for drinks and something to eat not a easy feat in this area of Greensboro. This place covered all the bases though. You can order food from their sister restaurant down the strip and they bring it to your table. Live music on a Saturday , they played stuff we all knew which was great ! Nice big area lots of bar seating and tables and pool tables They have a full bar and lots of beer and cocktail and some wine choices. I got a Prosecco in a nice glass which surprised me. Beer and Tito's and soda and crown and ginger ale also made our table. So with drinks covered we moved onto food. The fries were crinkle cut , my fave ! With seasoning they def hit the late night foodie spot. The pizza was delivered in a massive box which scared us a little but when we opened it, it was just the large , must have run outta boxes !! Great thin crust and nice amount of sauce and pepperoni. Perfect . The bacon cheese fries and hot dogs our yelp chairman Erik had looked fully loaded and he didn't seem to have a problem with them! We chanced upon this "members only" place and it has become a favorite go to place for a few drinks now. The place is well maintained and very clean. The outdoors are good to sit and have a few drinks and it is never too loud or crazy. The service is quick and they have live music over the weekends, along with food trucks as well. read more

I went to the Garage Tavern to see Mike Reno from the 80s group, Loverboy. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was great. It's a really nice place, plenty of room, clean, and a great place just to hang out for a few hours. It is a Members Only club and I was the guest of a member. read more

Ok, my wife and I have loved another establishment on walker ave. but the service has dropped considerably lately. It was time to find something new. We found this place driving home one day from the super g Mart and decided to go in and give it a try. We went in on a Monday and it was pretty quiet which is great The food was excellent which comes from the restaurant which is just a few doors down and the drink specials look pretty fantastic throughout the week. The bartender was exceptional and we're looking forward to going back on a night when they have live music. The ambience on the inside is pretty neat it has all kinds of old garage and gas station memorabilia with a free pool table and a couple free trivia games that you can play it was exceptionally clean it has an outdoor patio where you can bring your dog as well. read more

I went to Garage Tavern last night for the first time and was extremely impressed with the service! All the staff were attentive and helpful and friendly. We already had dinner unfortunately because they had pizza that looked very good. The Ladies restroom was clean and well-stocked. They even had mouthwash and hair products in case you need them. For the most part its ok, members only. To join it's $10. The staff, half are very helpful and others could care less. I was looking for 1 type of beer. I asked if they only the one beer on tap. Garage Tavern is a great neighborhood bar with the right atmosphere. Frankie is the best! She takes great care of patrons (especially the regulars)! Great local membership bar. Only $10 to join. The owners are over the top friendly along with the staff. They have drink specials but no food is sold on site. They do have free cookouts often and food trucks are on site on the weekends. They have no problems with patrons bringing in or ordering food. They have a few video games and pool tables ( pool is free ). The bar has been completely remodeled its clean and inviting. They also have outdoor patio.The restrooms are beautiful and CLEAN. As a veteran bartender , of eleven years , I had heard amazing things about this bar . I was disappointed when visiting this establishment. the ambiance was gorgeous, especially from where it use to be . The band was perfect . It wasn't as busy as what they usually are so when approaching the bar and not one but three other bartenders walked by without helping me & my friend , I was instantly disappointed . Although I could've left , i was encouraged to stay by social media followers to see what was to become of the situation , as I was live , and it just made the establishment look worse and discriminatory . VERY unfortunate, as most of my regulars were in attendance . I think the bar itself is a complete upgrade from where it was . The bartenders were just not inviting. And I hope they treat new guests better than they did me . Fortunately enough for them I have a good following on social media of how poorly I was treated . read more

I've been spending a fair amount of time at the Garage Tavern lately since a good friend is hosting an Open Mic on Tuesday nights. I like the place, the staff is friendly and the beer is relatively inexpensive. The membership is worth the cost. They don't serve food but Binh Minh Restaurant is a couple of doors down and I understand the Tavern owners are opening a pizza place next door to Binh Minh. So food is covered. read more

We are so disappointed with the customer service. Even though they are open, there is a 3.00 food minimum per person, with a sign on the door, that we missed reading. It would have been courteous, if the bartender mentioned this and actually urged us to order an item, instead of throwing our money away. When we received our bill, it was so inflated and we did not understand why. She rudely told us after we paid , "there is a sign posted". Forever lost our patronage. read more

Great Sports Bar! Membership is reasonable, plus daily drink specials. Bloody Mary is home made and best in town. Owners and Staff are great and willing to hook you up on the TVs to see your sport and team playing. No food (hence the need for membership) but food trucks in the parking lot Friday and Saturday nights. Free cookouts on Sunday during NFL games. Not a huge mega sports bar, but more upscale and a place where you can get to know other sports fans. read more
