I have to say we always loved Gara's except for recently. The woman taking our order was patient with us and very friendly and helpful until we got home and sat down to eat our dinner. The roast beef on the roast beef sandwich was bad, and we threw it out and thought maybe just give them a call and let them know about it so no one gets sick from future orders. We were AMAZED that when we called and informed the same girl that there were no apologies or offers to replace the sandwich! I would have said that's ok no worries, but it would have been nice at least to have had that option! I thought it was incredibly poor customer service to almost make someone ill and not say you are sorry and not try to rectify the situation. My DOG would not even eat the roast beef (so that tells you how bad it was). Unbelievable, truly and irrevocably! read more

Rude teenagers running the phones. I live less than a half mile away and needed the food delivered and it took an hour and twenty minutes to get there. Only to find out the ham on my sub was no good. Ended up throwing it away. They were great before Covid but when they reopened it's just not the same now. I'll never go back. read more

Gara's has consistently made great food. My husband and I order from them fairly often and we have never had an issue. When we moved to the area, we tried every pizza place within miles of our house; Gara's definitely has the best Italian food in the area. Food was good. But very upset. I specifically went there on that date with my Restaurant.com coupon. I took my daughter I was celebrating her birthday. They would not except my coupon. They said they're no longer affiliated restaurant.com. I felt since I was already there specifically to use the coupon they should've at least honored it. My daughter wanted to leave but we were short on time. We stayed and the food was decent. Makes me sad because I,d like to go back but they were very unfriendly about the coupon which makes me not really like the way they do business. read more

Great pizza. Definitely some high quality cheese going into their pies. The homestyle "Jersey" fries are addictive. I wasn't crazy about their standard cheesesteak. I haven't tried it yet, but I would guess it's more than worth it to upgrade to the Ribeye. Bring cash unless you get bonus rewards for restaurants on your credit card. Every time I am in town, got to have a Gara's pizza. My favorite now is the Margaretta pizza. This is good. A word to the wise for any of you with warrants out or for those of you driving with suspended licenses, this place is frequented by Lopatcong police and it is often you will find one or two of them sitting in this place and eating dinner. So, make sure if you show up and park in the parking garage your car is tagged, your license is up to date and no warrants out for you! Great pizza. read more

Just waited an hour and 45 minutes for cold pizza. They are usually great but never again!! That one time ruins it for me.

We order from here all the time. Usually just pizza. It's very good and always hot and fresh. The reason for three stars is because we recently called and wanted to place an order for some dinner dishes (very common chicken Marsala) and we were told that they are no longer serving dinner dishes at all. As a customer who has eaten take out here at least twice a month, we are extremely unsatisfied with a recent order. We ordered a pizza for delivery and the pie was delivered with 1 slice missing from the pie. We called to inform them and were told that the manager said we will bring you out 1 slice to fill the pie. I asked to speak with the owner and was put on hold for 10 minutes until I hung up. I called back 3 more times and was put on hold roughly 5 minutes each time without anyone coming back to the phone. I had enough and drove the pie back there, where I was again told they would give me one slice because the owner did not believe me (The owner was not there and still would not call me). They eventually gave me my money back and I walked out. Needless to say we will never be back. read more

When we picked up our order today that included containers of salad dressing, one of the dressing's lids spilled all over the seats of my car. When I called to inform the restaurant of what happened, the owner got on the phone and said "What's the problem!" with an attitude and after I told him what happened he said that he never makes a mistake. After I informed him that he did make a mistake he said I was a liar and what was he supposed to do about it. The when I said that I didn't appreciate his attitude and that I was going to write a bad review, he said "I don't care". Their food is definitely not worth the aggravation and attitude. I eat lunch at Gara's at least 3 times a week and it is always busy and the food is consistently good every time. They do a great job with everything on the menu and the owner takes great pride in using only high quality ingredients in all the dishes. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. Gara's has awful food, nothing good about it...just over priced disgusting tasteless food! Their pizza crust is very flat, the sauce has no taste since they add no seasoning to it, just take it right out of the can and dump it right on. The dinners are horrible, I will never order anything from them again. My lasagna looked like it was frozen prepackaged crap out of a box with nasty tasteless sauce thrown on top of it. Nothing appealing about the look or taste of their dinners. I'm telling all my friends to not waste your time with this place. Also I found a hair in my pizza yesterday that my coworkers had ordered, ewww so gross! STAY AWAY from this place you will be disappointed not worth the money and the staff and owner are very rude to the customers! Their food is ok but the service is utterly horrible!! They really need to train their staff better. You call and and say you would like to order for delivery and the teen on the phone says ok. Dead silence after that, so I wait then say - would you like the order or the address first? Another OK from the teen. OK, what I ask? - the order or address? Really frustrating - It's like talking to a wall. Next try, went in to pick up a couple slices, that didn't go any better since the counter girl forgot to put the slices in the oven. In my twentys i spent 3 years as an assistant manager at a Taco Bell so ive seen all the shady stuff a nightshift can pull in the book... and tonights order with Garas.... smh.... Let me say the scam i think is being pulled here... the whole team gets on the same page or a few people.... over the course of a shift they over charge just slightly so no one notices, put the extra money aside in the drawer and end of night when breaking down thier drawer split it so everyone involved leaves with $20-40 in their pocket... Well last time we ordered 4 cheesesteaks and an order of mozz sticks it came to about $43 ish after tip, Tonight $48 before and since the delivery was fast i said take the total and add $5 for the tip and he said "how much do you want me to keep again" i said keep $5 plus total... the place is literally right up the street from my house so $5 for a tip is a good tip... well this guy keeps $10 and gives me back $2 from $60 and when my kid calls about it while i set everyone up with food the guy swears up and down that i said he could have a $10 tip my kid got mad and hung up.. Fool me once... never again. read more

The pizza there is pretty good, but if you want hot pizza in a timely matter, don't order for delivery. The first time took almost an hour and the pizza was cold. We figured we would give them a second chance ..... an hour and a half after ordering, 90 minutes, and we still hadn't received our pizza. We live about a mile away ..... 90 minutes? I've been frustrated due to the lack of good restaurants in this area. You know it's hurtin' when you can't even find decent Italian/pizza. Well, now I have "MY" pizza place, and it's Gara's. Large pie with everything does us just fine, thank you! Lots of cheese, generous with toppings, great sauce and crust.
