I was a little disappointed with the service done on my car 3/28/17. I have always taken my car in to Smith Chevrolet, but was talked into taking to Christenson Chevrolet where I originally purchased the 2014 Chevy Cruz. Went in because I had a check engine light on and it was time for my oil change and tire rotation. I promise to GOD, I have never experienced such a bad drive after a oil change and a wheel rotation, not sure what the extra noise is, but it's humming something. So I took it back to get some clarity of what the noise may be, was told that they needed to put my car back in the air to see what's going on, such an inconvenience. I just needed the service done right the first time, so if the noise continues, I will take it back yet again. :( read more

My mother is in her seventies, and has been a longtime customer of Christenson. She sees them for all of her service, down to the oil changes, and has done so for many years. Today she needed a repair on her car, which was undriveable without the repair, and ran into an issue with paying the amount, which was significant for her, up front. Despite the fact that she has been a loyal and timely paying customer, Christenson's billing manager refused to do anything to work out any sort of plan for her. Obviously it's not their obligation to do so, but my mom is also not obligated to get her oil changed at the dealer or go there for every service, as she has done in the past. I'm disappointed, and expected more from a business in this community in dealing with a loyal and elderly customer. read more

The service experience has been so horrible and unprofessional, that when my wife's lease is up next year and it's time for me to get a new work vehicle, I will just take my business to another Chevy dealership. Long story short over 3 hours for an oil change (not the first time we've waited a long time for an oil change )and over 3 days to get a hose replaced for the turbocharger with no time frames or updates. After legit wasting a full 8 hours for them to tell me they couldn't do anything, I got a Chevy Equinox to drive until they fixed their mistake on the Trax. Turned in the vehicle and the lady working the return desk tries to haggle me on a 1/8th of a tank of gas. The manager did wave the 50 dollar charge that was associated with not returning the vehicle with the gas it left with ( forgive me for not reading the fine print, 8 hours in a waiting room watching people come and go with their vehicles actually being fixed had me exhausted) was nice because the least I could do as a customer was spend the 5 dollars in gas I used to make sure I didn't put them in a bind and that folks is customer service at its finest. read more

I'm HIGHLY disappointed with Christensen Chevy. It was my first and last time that I'll ever deal with this dealership!!! They did not follow through on their end of the agreement which I think is extremely unprofessional!!!! We went through the whole negotiation process and came to an agreement on the price and I gave my down payment. Since they didn't have my vehicle in their inventory, they needed to trade with another dealer. I was told that it'll only take a couple days to obtain the vehicle since it was a Saturday and Presidents' Day weekend. Fast forward a week later, I'm being told that the originally agreed upon price cannot be honored. Basically because it took Christensen Chevy so long to obtain the vehicle to close the deal which resulted in a particular rebate expiring. I understand that they have an internal process they must follow, however I FULLY EXPECT that when an agreement is made and a deposit for the down payment that I made in good faith to purchase the vehicle was accepted; that the company should STILL follow through on the original agreement. The customer should not be penalized due to their failure in delivering the car on time. There was little to no effort made in trying to resolve this matter or striving for client satisfaction. Another thing that really bothered me was that they pulled my credit report four times in one day which caused my credit score to go down every time they pulled it!!!!!!!! If I could rate this a zero star I would due to the unpleasant experience. read more

thought they were going to right the wrong but was wrong, again truck sat there for almost a week they said they were done with messing with the on and off heat problem, well said they couldnt replicate problem again so wont fix it, was told the heated steering wheel would have never worked the button was broke, got the truck back drove to the store shut it off got back in guess what no heat again, read the paper work said customer declined to have other things fixed turned out the sales manager declined to fix anything that supposedly worked when i bought it he lied to me about checking the truck from head to toe. now they are ignoring us and avoid our phone calls, either wont answer, sends us to voice mail or wont answer texts. i feel like they got my money and that is it they are done, i will have to spend hundreds of dollars to fix this and no heat is a big deal in indiana. also was told they bought it straight from the last owner turns out that was a lie too and they only drive the vehicles 5 to 10 mins how do you know whats wrong with it if you dont drive it. zero stars if i could. read more

There was a gentleman there named Jeff H. and whenever I took my car in he made me feel comfortable because he was always honest. I have had an issue with my truck for months and have brought it to 7 different repair facilities. I have spent quite of bit of money as well trying to fix my issue. This is a response to Christensen's response. Quite honestly if you looked at it from a worse case scenario it is a two faced response. In an attempt to get this situation fixed I also posted on another website that rhymes with ChaseCrook. It is amazing that the same person who responded to this also tried to ChaseCrook friend request with me last night. How peculiar? It has also been noticed their firm does not like negative feedback. They continually dirty deleted said negative reviews. Hey that is their perogative, After I pointed this out, does anyone want to guess what happened next? Yup that is right they deleted again, and also chose to block me. I guess they don't want other people to question their service? At any rate Mr. Bill Schroederyou have my number. In fact I was told a Christensen was going to call me today, prior to your deletion. Thank God for a cache system and print screen though :). And yet no phone calls whatsoever. Couldn't edit my original review. I bought a 2003 Chevy with low miles. The vehicle had one open recall. I contacted Garber through their website. The repair is less than half hour of work.(Did my research at GM and non GM sites) Service writer told me it would be 1hr 20 min for them to complete, it took 2 hrs 20 min. When I made appt, they should have mentioned to bring both keys as they would be replacing them(which they didn't). I watched cars leave that arrived after me. Service dept tell me why they are took so long. Not impressed! This is why people go to aftermarket shops. Only bright spot was Marty, the service advisor. Very friendly and outgoing. After driving the car for awhile after the "repair," the recall symptom occurred. After having the car for 2+ hours for a simple fix, & claiming they made a new key, nothing was actually done to the car. Looking at the key, it was my original that they simply placed a GM cover on. Obviously, Garber is the stereotypical, untrustworthy dealer. They lie and do not fix vehicles. Their service shop is definitely not a repair shop as evidenced by not repairing the recall item. read more

When I went looking for a Camaro I stopped in at Christenson Chevrolet, I liked that no one bothered me as I was looking at the cars in the lot. The new 2016's and 2017's were anywhere from 43,000.00 to 65,000.00, I could not spend good money on a Chevy Camaro. So, I did a search on the internet and found my Camaro which is a 2015 that only had 5,500 miles on it, and the best thing was the price 24,000.00 with a better then new car warranty 4 years 48,000 miles. I am not saying I would not have loved getting the brand new car but, for the price and a little bit of research, one can save big money. P.S. I had to drive to Ohio, 200 miles away for that deal. So don't think it will be an easy drive. read more

1. So when it says on the receipt that you 'Top off fluid levels' I would think you then TOP OFF FLUID LEVELS! Nah. When I got home basically ALL of them they were LOW. I had to fill up the Power Steering - low, Brake fluid - was WAY LOW and washer fluid as well. 2. You tried to sell me over $2000 in repairs to my suspension and showed me the list of items. But not until I got home and looked over that list closer there was also the Right front marker bulb on that same list NOBODY even mentioned to me. That's great!!! It could have been done while it was THERE!!! I know, I know. You don't make $$$ by fixing a bulb. I am sure the other inspections were all blown off as well. But hey I got my oil changed and my radiator flushed and new fluid put in. Well I hope anyway!!!!!!! read more

The thought of purchasing a vehicle can put a ton of unwanted stress on anyone's mind but after visiting Christenson Chevy on March 17th, that stress has now been erased after our most recent experience. My wife and I visited the new car showroom with the exact car in mind and knowing that Christenson did not have that particular car in stock, we learned so much about the "dealer trade" process. Long story short, Justin Nooner (Salesman) walked us through that process and located the exact vehicle not too far away. We then completed a little paperwork after "Very" tough negotiations and of course ate some of that addictive popcorn they offer while you wait. An hour or so later, we made arrangements to pickup our new vehicle three (3) days later, and as of today we now own our first Chevy Tahoe. A big thanks to Justin Nooner who now has two customers for life and no offense to Christenson Chevy but we'll follow this guy if he leaves. Lastly, the General Manager Ron and the Finance Manager Lee made the process almost to easy but I guess that's what to expect when you deal with individuals committed to making the car buying experience a memorable one. read more

My husband get his brand new truck "fixed" here after he was rear ended a few months ago. We were given a promised finish date of 9/1 and we didn't get the truck back til 9/29. After it being almost a month over due, the truck was given back to us with a TON of things wrong with it. The door is off alignment, there are multiple scratches throughout, there are so many bubbles in the tinted windows it feels like Braille!! The new paint job has run marks and the undercarriage has no coating on it at all, so it's not protected from rusting. We are highly unsatisfied with the work and we have purchased several vehicles from this dealership. We have asked to speak with the owner and the general manager to discuss these issues and have not received a call back. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and suggest others to find a different body shop to use. This has become a total nightmare and I don't want others to have to go through this either! read more

In July 2016, the timing chain on my 2010 Traverse needed to be replaced at 65,000 miles. I took it to Christenson, and GM did pay for 2/3 of the cost - because this is a major issue with the V6 3.6L engines in GM cars (there is even a special warranty for 2007 to 2009 Traverse's, but should be extended through 2014 Traverse's). At the time of repair, Christenson told me I should never have to replace the timing chain again in this car - which would make sense since they should last the life of the car or at least 100,000 miles as long as oil changes are kept up with. In February 2019, my check engine light came on and I took it to Auto Zone for a free check. Code P0008, which is the timing chain again - 23,000 miles after it was replaced the first time. I called Christenson and told them what was going on. The service advisor said to bring it in to have "the professionals" look at it. Well, "the professionals" did the exact same thing as Auto Zone for $100 more and came up with the same result. And they told me it would be $2943 for the repair. Obviously, I was very upset to have the same issue 2.5 years later. Spoke with service manager Gary Goodwin, and he would only take a couple hundred dollars off the repair. Spoke to GM a few times, and they aren't willing to help with cost even though, again, this is a widespread issue with these cars. Sent an email to Dean Christenson explaining the situation and left my contact info, and he could not even bother to contact me back. Pushes it off to Gary Goodwin, who I had explained to Dean I already dealt with. Gary then offers $500 off, which still leaves me with over $2400 bill for something I should never have had to deal with again. Pissed off that this part failed again, let alone so soon, and Christenson and GM only concerned with their bottom line. Obviously, when the head of Christenson cannot reach out to a frustrated customer, it's easy to see where their priorities are. Even more pissed that this happened one week after I purchased a 2018 Equinox from Christenson. There are way too many Chevrolet dealerships in the surrounding area to ever go back to a place that could care less about their customers. I dealt with Fernando/sales and Lee/finance. BEST car buying experience I have ever had. It surpasses my experience buying with a 720 credit score and $2000 down. I was helped as soon as I walked in, everyone was nice, and it went fairly quick for buying a vehicle. I walked out with a very nice vehicle, very reasonable payments, a great finance company, $4000 in rebates, and surprisingly, an interest rate half of what I expected. When I replace this vehicle I will be going back to deal with Fernando. I can't express how diligent, polite, and a joy he was to work with. read more

Didn't have an appointment, but drove in for an oil change late on a Saturday morning. Service writer was fast and friendly. Waiting room was nice, even stocked with cookies and fresh popcorn for the clients (both delicious.) Truck was promised in an hour, and delivered on time. Service was done completely and accurately, then it was washed. (It was delivered to me dripping wet...that's the only "negative" I can think of during this visit. I wish they would have towel-dried the truck after the wash. Not a big deal though.) Cashier was friendly/professional as well. Dealership was very clean. Even saw some porters sweeping the lot out front. Overall, a very good dealership and I plan on returning in the future. read more

1st of all let me start by saying this dealership is full of bull s***. The 1st thing I noticed is that when I walked into the dealership no one bothered to move to ask me what I needed. I had to approach them and tell them I was interested in buying a vehicle. Next, the manager says well Jonathan will take care of you. The sales guy asked me what was I interested in and I told him a 2016 Malibu LT and I told him what color I wanted. Next he tells me that you know its based off your credit score and how much your trying to put down. He takes me outside and show me a few vehicles that had everything I wanted in the vehicle. So as we go back inside I told him that the cars I saw on the dealership website the E- Price ranged from $23,000 to $25,000 & he tells me " Aw thats false -advertisement, he says that's how we get people in here to sell them a car." But then he goes on to tell me that I shouldn't be shopping around for other prices because I'm wasting my time. But in the same breathe he tells me if I were to go to another dealership and they quoted me the vehicle for a lesser price then his dealership will give it to me for the price the other dealership quoted me because they want my business. So as we negotiated prices for about an hour, I decided that I wasn't interested anymore. So he comes back and say my sells manager will give you $1,632.00 off the vehicle that was $28,000. So when he brought the sheet back the car was still $27,374.00. I asked him where was the damn discount at cause that's not a discount. Especially when Chevy was automatically giving you $1,000.00 off. So as I was getting ready to leave I stopped and looked at a floor model Malibu LT that was listed at $26,374.00. So I told him that I was interested in that specific vehicle and he was like ok let me go get you some prices. I asked him why was this exact same car & model cheaper then the ones you showed me outside? He says oh I don't no but let me go check so he comes back like I have good news and bad news. The good news is that my manager is going to give you $2,000 off this vehicle plus you get the $1,000 off rebate from Chevy but the bad news is that we cant sell you this vehicle for the window sticker price because the factory put the wrong invoice in the window. I told him that wasn't my fault and that they have to honor the price that's on the window sticker. Then he tells me that if we sell you the car for that price we would be loosing money. So when he came back with the sheet the car ended up being $27,649.00. I asked him where was the discount taken off at cause the car is still high. With the $1,000 rebate from Chevy & your manager taking $2,000 off that car still shouldn't be $27,649.00. Needless to say all I let them do was check my credit score and I left. After going through this with Jonathan I will never send anyone here to do business with them again. read more

I purchased my 2006 Chevy Cobalt from Christenson Chevrolet brand new with less than twenty miles on it. I would drive from Northern Chicago just to have my car serviced at Christenson. However, after my last service there I am extremely disappointed in how they provide service to their customers. I took my car in at 11:50 to have the air bag replaced and was told it would take two hours. At 2:30, the car wasn't ready so a driver took me to a meeting I had to go to. I returned at 4:00 and the car still was not ready. I had not received a phone call or update at all!!! When I asked to speak with my customer service rep, Anthony, the receptionist tried to find him with no luck. It took her some time to find him. When she finally found him he told me it would be about 10 more minutes. Another 30 minutes went by with no update at all! It was so bad that the receptionist commented, "Haven't you been here all day?" Again, the receptionist had to go find Anthony because I was left in the dark about the whereabouts of my car. Finally at 4:40, I was told that they were having issues and it would not be ready for the evening. I was driven to Enterprise across the street for a rental car, which was fine. However, Enterprise did not have a vehicle for me to drive. So I had to be driven to the Enterprise in Griffith. By the time I finally got home it was 7PM. I took it as a bad day and was just excited to have my car back soon. The next day, NO CALL OR UPDATE AGAIN! I was shocked at the LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called to check in on my car because of course I had not heard anything. I was told Anthony would call me back. However, when he finally called it was almost 3PM and without apologizing for the inconvenience or giving me any information, he simply said, "it's ready." After hanging up, I realized he didn't give me a price and called back again. When I got a hold of him he informed me it was $850! I would think that if it the price were going to be that much money it would have been addressed well beforehand and asked for permission when it over the two hour mark or when contacted me when they first ran into a problem. But I guess not! Lack of communication and paying for extra labor without being asked or told any information about what is going on with your vehicle is what you get at Christenson. I could have taken it to a family friend for a fraction of the price but I trusted Christenson to get the job done. This is very disappointing when took the day off work to drive 30 miles just to take my car there and this is how I was treated. When I expressed this concern to Anthony no apology was given at all and he was extremely lackadaisical. He said he would take off so I would only have to pay for two hours but later I was told that I would have to still pay for three hours. When I spoke to the service manage Bill, he was empathetic but asked me, "What was it that I wanted?" I said that I wanted to be compensated for my terrible experience because the service was not up to par. He offered $50 off. So, I guess Christenson values great customer service at $50. The numbers still l didn't add up. So, my fiance called and they refused to email an itemized receipt and told him that the original price was $959 which wasn't what I was told at first at all. Either way, they threw numbers at us to make it seem like I was being compensated for terrible service when really they still weren't providing adequate customer service. read more

i loved christensen up until a month ago. i bought a 2015 silvarado made to my specs beautiful truck sales rep was great. i took it back for scheduled oil changes and recalls never an issue always professional.in august last year i started getting knocking and clunking in rear suspension. doug the service writer was very helpful and listened to my concern. he even instructed harold who was my mechanic to take a ride with me to hear my concern. harold heard the noise and found a tsb to retorque rear leaf springs. they did that and told me to try it noise still there.they apologized and i made another appointment to bring it in . the y found right rear shock absorber was defective and they changed it but noise was still there. I make another appointment and they serviced it again this time lubricating the rear leaf spring pads,although it helped a little bit noise came back quickly as grease wore off. I called and talked to Doug whom by the way was apologetic for my inconvenience and he told me to bring it back again and there was measurements to take of the rear suspension.Well afew months went by being summer time and i have several summer vehicles to drive the truck isnt driven a whole lot. so i call to make an appointment and talk to doug im told doug is no longer there ok cool i drop it off and tell them my conceren.They call me back and said the noise i hear is normal rear end play. I told them it is not normal for a rear end or any type of machinery to make a knocking noise.I own my own auto repair buisness in griffith for 30 plus years so i asked him if i can come down and show him what i think is part of the problem. i was put on hold for almost 10 minutes and when gary the service manager got on the phone i had to fill him in on my whole concern he knew nothing about my vehicle. i told him i want to come down show him what i think and take him for a ride. i was there in 10 minutes and right away i can tell gary wasnt happy to see me. As im driving around just your parking lot my rear suspension is knocking and Gary says any noise i hear is normal.we hear some more knocking i look at him and expressinless he says again any noise i hear is normal. I said gary my truck is designed to knock? and again he says any noise i hear is normal.I tell him i have a 98 silvarado with 225000 miles that dont knock. Again like a programmed robot any noise i hear is normal.I tell him gary ive been a mechanic for 33 years with out missinga beat any noise i hear is normal.well im getting a little hot under collar here and tell him im going to take him on a little farther ride out of the parking lot.he gets irate and says he aint going no where with me. i said put my truck in the air and show you my concern. Gary tells me my truck is not coming back inside shop. I left por review on customer survey and the gm quick response team called me, and though jackie was very nice she couldnt do nothing for me. Service department will no longer adress the issue. 52,000 dollar truck that knocks. Being a buisness owner in the area a lot of people ask my opinion where to go.ive probably sent over a dozen people there for cars and i wont no more with that kind of service department.if this was a normal noise why did it take over a year to start making it.Ive also driven several other silvarados / sierras no noise! read more
